Jordan tossed and turned that night. He hated that the sponge made for a decent bed. However, he couldn’t fault Sara for her ingenuity. His body was exhausted after being ravaged by the virus and then traversing through two backyards to get help. The sweatshirts blotted out the light leaving trace streams of light able to filter through tiny cracks in the otherwise dense fabric.
When Jordan woke up he was clueless as to what time it was. He looked down at himself and sighed having to face the sad reality that nothing from the prior day was a dream or nightmare. It wasn’t long after he noticed his clothes were gone. He quickly looked about his room not seeing them. The fact he thought of this as his room brought a brief pang to his heart. He was unsure when or how Sara was able to disrobe him without waking him. The only conclusion Jordan had was that he was more tired than he thought.
Standing up he looked over at the Cocoa Puffs Sara had left him. His stomach grumbled as he munched on the dry cereal. He found it remarkable how full he could feel after just two pieces of cereal. Rubbing his stomach as he walked over to the water dish. Kneeling down he dipped his hands in the water cupping his hands to allow the water to pool as he slurped up the water thirstily from his hands.
