Jordan wanted to say something but bit his tongue. He didn’t want to seem ungrateful for everything Tiffany and her daughter had done for him. But he didn’t appreciate being talked over.
“I know you are taking this seriously honey. I just want to remind you this is a much bigger responsibility than Mocha This is a person you are in charge of, who you will be caring for. You can’t just take him back if it’s hard. It’s a lifelong commitment. You can’t just stop caring for him when you grow bored. You will still have all your other chores and grades to keep up.”
“I know Mom.”
“If you really want to do this I will support you. Now, I understand from the girls in the office you were emailed a packet. Make sure you fill that out.” Tiffany explained.
“Can I just interject here? Maybe it would be better…”
“That’s enough Jordan. I know what you’re thinking and the answer is no. Her father and I just don’t have the time and quite frankly while we are sympathetic to your situation. We don’t want to have to come home and care for an underbed. I have to do that at work. Not that we won’t help out where needed, but Sara took this on as something she wanted to do and I truly believe this will be a good chance for her to really prove herself.
