Jordan was waiting for it all to end when he felt a warm pressure drape over him As he opened his eyes saw Sara’s hand covering his body protecting him. He watched her lift the spider away with absolute ease. He couldn’t help but feel his smallness as he watched the oversized teen pull the spider away as if it were nothing at all.
“Are you okay? what happened?” Sara exclaimed as she removed her hand from Jordan’s body and dropped the spider into her free hand. “Just a sec. Let me set this little guy outside.”
“Set him outside? He’s a killer. You need to smush him.” Jordan shouted but Sara had already turned away from him and was heading towards the door. He watched her scurry out the door and disappear from his view as he assumed she ran down the sidewalk. A minute or so later he watched her walk back in and close the door.
“There, everyone is where they should be,” Sara said as she immediately ran her fingers over Jordan feeling for any injuries. “Is my whitto man okay?” Sara said in an infantile voice.
“I-im fine,” Jordan said wanting to say something about the baby talk but as her hand blanketed him he had to admit it felt nice. A sense of safety came over him. “I’m sorry. I was wrong. I should have never pushed you away when I was dressing. I just, it’s just a lot to adjust to. I guess I have to wrap my head around the idea I’m not the man I use to be.” Sara hid a smirk as she looked down at her former neighbor
