The tumultuous walk resumed all too quickly when he heard Sara’s voice as she spoke to herself. Jordan swayed side to side inside her pocket as he stared up at the blue sky with the straps of her purse coming into his view briefly now and then.
Sara spread her cardigan pocket open as her fingers slid downward. Jordan’s eyes bugged out as he watched her fingers get closer and closer to him. They looked even more prominent than usual from his vantage point in her pocket, and they dominated his view. Her fingers passed over the top of him and pressed him firmly against her sweater and hip when he heard the familiar squeak of his car door open along with the jingling of his keys.
“Whoa, is this brand new?” her voice boomed as he heard another door open. “It’s so clean in here. I’ve never seen your car up close, and I usually see it as you wash it from afar.
“Yes, it’s new and paid for. I thought we were so busy. Why are we wasting time exploring my car? You can’t even drive it with just a permit.” Jordan huffed as Sara began to pull him out then stopped.
