Jordan was beside himself by the bombshell the teen casually dropped on him. He had no idea things had progressed this quickly. Jordan knew that he should have been keeping more up on the ramifications. But this was unreal. As he looked up at the giant teen getting into what used to be his car, he could feel her hold on his life tightening.
Jordan heard the car door slam shut; he fell forward as layers of fabric fell over him. While the pocket he was trapped in shifted from a vertical world to a horizontal one. As things settled down, Jordan started crawling out when the wall of flesh wrapped around him and quickly pulled him free of her pocket.
“I need to reprogram the favorited radio stations, and then we can be off. I hope you like Pop, Country, and EDM. Based on these channels you had selected, I’d say it’s doubtful—lots of rock stations, alt-rock, punk rock, classic rock, and we don’t listen to any of that.”
Jordan could only look as she seemingly purged facets of his life from existence. One by one, his favorite stations vanished and were replaced by hers. He watched her place a hair scrunchie from her purse onto the console of the vehicle as she sat back briefly and adjusted the seat to her liking. Every setting, every configuration Jordan had set one by one was replaced by Sara until she was comfortable.
“Don’t look so sad. I know today will be difficult, and I care and wouldn’t have agreed to become your guardian if I didn’t. It’s why I’m getting help with the house. We just need to rip this bandaid off and get through your stuff. Then tomorrow, we can start fresh. If you’re good today, I will even think about taking you to school with me, so you don’t have to sit around in the habitat all day. That’s only if you’re good, though.
