Jordan struggled but finally made his way to his feet as he stood upright in Sara’s bag. Looking upward provided him with the realization that he would not be getting out unless Sara decided to let him out. Listening to the girl’s conversation was a bit surreal. He had never been privy to girl talk in this manner before.
“I guess that wraps things up here then.” Jordan heard Mallory’s voice say. The words weighed heavily on him as the two Titanic teens so casually discussed an ending of an entire part of his life.
“Thank you so much, Mal. I couldn’t have done it without you.” Sara gushed as Jordan heard the jingling of keys as the door to his home was locked.
“No prob girl. I’ve been down this road before. It will get easier each day. I remember the early days after Gavin’s accident. He was doing the same kind of thing. These boys just like to push the boundaries a little. You just need to hold to your guns and know that you are doing everything for their benefit. Even if they can’t see that.”
“Thanks, are you sure you don’t need a ride back?”
“Nah, it’s almost five already and my Uber is just waitin’ outside.”
Jordan’s world shook as everything rocked from left to right as Sara walked down the pathway toward the driveway. The familiar sound of his car door opening was followed by him and everything in the purse feeling as if it was weightless as Sara tossed her bag onto the passenger seat of the car.
“Sara” Jordan managed to cry out before the purse hit the passenger seat of the car. Her phone slammed into his back before finally settling upright.
“She may be a little mad still,” Jordan said to himself as his eyes began to adjust to the darkness of her bag as the car rumbled to an unknown destination. “At least we are going to what I guess will now be my home from now on.”
“We’re here. I expect you on your best behavior mister.” Sara said before Jordan felt the bag lurch upward and he felt the rocking of her forward motion. However, it wasn’t long before he heard a loud knocking.
“Hello Sara, Dayton is so excited to see you again. I should be home at the usual time. You know the routine by now. DAYTON HONEY I’M HEADING TO WORK! BE GOOD FOR SARA.” The loud voice rang out.
“Don’t worry Mrs. Harris. Everything is under control.”
