Dayton lifted her foot up, and he felt her toes flick upward and knock the wind out of him once again as he found himself slumped over her shoe. As he looked at the giant tween, he had never felt so helpless as he did now. Sara never treated him like this, and she never spoke to him like this.
Jordan hadn’t encountered anyone who didn’t know him as he was before until Dayton. Sara and her family still gave him some modicum of respect, but Dayton only knew Jordan as the thing Sara pulled out of her purse. As Jordan turns his head, looking upward at the massive tween body hulking over him. He becomes fully aware that Dayton doesn’t just not respect him as an authority figure, and she doesn’t view him the same way she views a person.
“Don’t look at me like that. You did this to yourself. But, we can still be best friends. I just needed to put you in your place. Because, as my mom would say. You got a bit too big for your britches. So what do you say, friends or enemies?”
“Friends,” Jordan reluctantly said. As he knew, making an enemy of Dayton would just end badly for him.
“Good, and do you know what friends don’t do? They don’t go taddling to Sara later tonight.” Dayton said as she lifted her foot up and stomped it down against the floor just enough to give Jordan a bounce off her foot and an inch or so into the air before landing back on top of her shoe.
“Right,” Jordan said gingerly as he rubbed his side and started to try to pick himself off Dayton’s shoe.
“Now, I couldn’t find a doll your size, and I guess I threw away my Polly Pockets. I did, however, find Bestie’s Boyfriend, but that doesn’t help you or the movie in any way. I have a couple of ideas on what we could do. We might as well do a dry run tonight, and then next time, we can put it to film for my directorial debut: Bad Boyfriend, A Dayton Harris Production.
“Great, I can hardly wait,” Jordan said with fake excitement as he started to stand up.
“Hold on,” Dayton said as she began to lift her leg up, causing Jordan to panic.
