“I hope you had a good day,” Sara said with mild annoyance as she pulled Jordan from her pocket. The chipper, cheery girl who had been talking to Dayton and Mrs. Harris was quickly replaced with an annoyed teenager as she looked down at Jordan.
“Let’s just say I’m very disappointed in you, JORDAN. I expected so much better, and you embarrassed me today. Dayton is half your age, and she was the mature one. I get you don’t like what has happened, but this is reality. This is where we are right now. When we get home, you better have an excellent explanation for your actions while we were cleaning out your house and then while I was babysitting.” Sara said as she glared down at Jordan. He knew she was upset.
“I just want…” Jordan got out before Sara interrupted.
“Silencio por favor. I should be seeing your listening skills at work. We are not at home. I want, no, I expect to hear nothing from you right now. You should be just thinking of what possible excuse you had to behave like that and whatever that excuse that may be. I swear to god. If you lie to me…” Sara exclaimed. Jordan was afraid to ask exactly what would happen if he lied but looking up at Sara, he could see a fury behind her eyes that he hadn’t seen up until now and knew better than to ask or push his luck.
“Nothing from the peanut gallery? Good.” Sara said as she flipped her hair back and started the car. She glanced down at Jordan before turning the radio on before reaching down into her bag and pulled out some lipgloss. Jordan was left to only watch as she adjusted the rearview mirror and applied some lipgloss. Jordan felt nervous as he watched Sara’s eyes fall briefly down onto him.
Jordan had been around the block enough times to know that now would not be a good time to open his mouth. Since Sara didn’t say anything Jordan didn’t say anything either. The silence left him feeling odd as Jordan’s first instinct was to say something to fill the void, but Sara’s annoyance at him left him just with his own thoughts. He knew that telling her the truth of what happened with Dayton was off the table. As it was made very clear to him that Sara wasn’t always going to be around to protect him and the idea of Dayton making his life hell for seemingly an indeterminate amount of time sounded horrible. The best course of action Jordan could think to do was just to fall on the sword regarding his actions.

So, Sara not only immediately sided with Dayton, without so much as asking Jordan his side of the story but later when their alone refuses to let him speak to her or even explain himself.
Gee, I sure hope this doesn’t prevent him from trusting Sara should, hypothetically, Dayton blackmail him with false accusations in order to give herself more freedom to bully him in the near future.
I don’t think this is really a needle mover personally as far as trust goes. I mean that seems like standard fare for a woman who is upset.
Plus I’m sure she has been told many of those things by her own mother many times.
