“Sara!!!” A feminine voice said loudly
“CHHLLOOEEE!!” Sara shouted as she rushed over, hugging the blonde girl as Jordan looked on.
“Sup girlie,” Ellie said as she stretched her legs out on the floor as Chloe and Sara embraced.
“Chloe, this is Body Hottie, Body Hottie, this Chloe,” Sara said.
“Who’s this? Wait, Body Hottie? The neighbor guy you two have been crushing on?”
“CHLOE!” Sara said as she glanced over at Jordan.
“What? It is, isn’t it? He’s so tiny. He is handsome, though. Oh, you got him a little uniform. That’s so adorable! Reminds of my sister’s little ankle-biter of a dog who she puts in little outfits.” Chloe said as she neared Jordan, who took a couple of steps back until his back pressed against Sara’s textbooks.
“I thought you were joking when you texted me on Saturday. Just look at him…He seems a bit smaller than Gavin.” Chloe said as she stood directly in front of Sara’s locker, leaning in. Jordan felt uneasy as the girl’s giant face stood a mere inch from him. Her larger-than-life eyes tracked his every movement. A fruity perfume she had put on made Jordan cough slightly as she smiled before taking a step back.
“So I suppose you are going to that rally now?” Chloe said as she continued to look at Jordan.
“Yeah, no. Body Hottie here has some chores. Then I have to work tonight at the theater as well. Plus, I have to stream after. But even if I wasn’t busy, I think we could find something better to do.” Sara said as she leaned up against the locker beside hers.
“I just figured with your new little man. You would be all fighting for his rights.” Chloe said.
“Why? We believe the same thing, and we think this rally is stupid. While he has the right to identity, just like any child does, he doesn’t have the same rights as you or I. One of my jobs as his guardian is to be his advocate.” Sara said.
“How progressive of you,” Chloe said as she looked over at Jordan with a smile. “I’m surprised he would be willing to just go along with all that,” Chloe said.
“Why wouldn’t he? He has a good life. He’s loved and cared for; he has a little room safe from spiders, bugs, and all the world’s dangers. He’s fed and clothed.” Sara said. “I treat my whitto man like a prince,” Sara said in a cutesy voice.
“I get that. I guess being immune, and I don’t understand how a person can be so willing to give up all their freedoms. But I also luckily never have to imagine what it’s like to wake up that small and vulnerable.
