“I shouldn’t be so forward. Jordan is just…Special and I worry about him,” Mrs. Brooks said, trying to find the right words.
“Well, he is in safe hands, Mrs. Brooks. He has his own room at my home, he’s a bunch of little outfits, and he’s fed and bathed daily. We went through all the stuff in his house on Sunday, and we decided to sell anything not needed along with the house itself. Plus, since Jordan lives with me now, it seemed a little redundant.” Sara explained as she stroked Jordan’s back and picked him up, then held him against her. Jordan tried to struggle while Sara pressed his face into the thick knit sweater that was a part of her uniform, but her strength was too much for Jordan to overcome.
Sara smiled warmly at Mrs. Brooks while she listened to her professor explain that Jordan would need to be kept with Sara at all times. As diminutive students, faculty, and visitors were not permitted to travel freely due to safety concerns. They would need to remain with their guardian.
“I understand that. Jordan is never out of my sight. I’m sure you know Mrs. Brooks, how much of a handful he can be.” Sara said as she started walking towards her desk.
“Ah Sara”
“Yes, Mrs. Brooks.”
“Would it be possible for me to hold him? Just for a minute.” Mrs. Brooks asked as she looked at Jordan trapped in her student’s grip.
“I – I don’t think that’s a good idea, Mrs. Brooks, but let’s see what Jordan thinks. Do you want to be held by your former girlfriend, Jordan!” Sara said as she flashed her look at Jordan before smiling warmly at her professor.
Jordan’s heart was pounding as he looked at Emily Brooks, his ex-girlfriend. However, the breakup was not because of him. He would never have broken up with her. She was always a short girl, and even now, Sara, who he wouldn’t call tall based on the other giants he’s seen today, is taller than her.
Jordan found himself lost in the conversation they were having. As Sara spoke to Emily, he could feel Sara being a bit more possessive of him as she spoke. As he heard Sara ask him if he wanted to be held by Emily, his eyes met Sara’s for a brief moment. It was then he knew his answer. He would have loved to talk to Emily, and the idea that she came for him was heartwarming.
“I’m sorry Emily. Sara is probably right.” Jordan meekly said from Sara’s hand. As he said the words, he felt Sara pet him lovingly as she smiled warmly down at him.
