“I don’t have time for this or you.” Kaitlyn scoffed with an angry look as she glared daggers at Sara. The teen’s gaze drifted toward Jordan for a long moment, and then she walked toward the door of the bathroom.
“Wait, Kaitlyn,” Sara called out, causing Kaitlyn to pause briefly before starting to walk again towards the door. Kaitlyn then stopped and turned around with the same angry look from earlier. “This is stupid to keep fighting like this. I never meant to hurt you.” Sara said.
“You have a funny way of not wanting to hurt someone. I was always honest with you.” Kaitlyn said.
“I never lied to you. I’m just not sure. You know exactly who you are. I love that about you. I’m envious of that about you. I don’t, though. You pretty much gave me an ultimatum. How am I supposed to give you an answer when I don’t even know myself?”
“You know, and you know it. You just don’t want to tell anyone.” Kaitlyn exclaimed
“I’m sorry Kaitlyn. Is that what you want? I really don’t know. I’m just trying to get through the day. I take my happy pills, go to school, do my homework, work a job, babysit, and stream three nights a week. I then try to spend what little time I have left with my friends.” Sara shouted back.
“Some friends…”
“The only person who ruined your friendships with them is you. I’m done being angry with you, Kaitlyn. I’m done being sad; I’m just done. If you want to want to apologize, you know how to find me. Otherwise, just fuck off.” Sara angrily said as she pushed past Kaitlyn. As the girl’s shoulders collided, Jordan felt himself get knocked forward. He fell a short distance before landing in Sara’s hand.
“Sorry, Jordan,” Sara said with a bit of hurt in her voice as she shoved the bathroom door open and walked back into the hallway.
“I’m fine. Are you okay? That seemed tense.” Jordan said.
“Yeah, I’m sorry you had to see all that. It’s all behind us now.” Sara said as she continued down the hallway, taking a deep breath. “I hope you’re better at science than you were at English.”
“That depends on which of my exes are you going to have to teach it?” Jordan said, trying to lighten the mood.
“I swear, the one is enough. If Mrs. Brooks docks my grade because of you. Well, let’s just say you are going to be in trouble.” Sara said, faking genuine laughter. “Positive outcomes only.” she then mumbled to herself as she continued down the hall toward her next class.
