Christine knew it was pointless to think like that. No one was coming to save her. Not because no one cared or no one wanted to. They couldn’t do anything because Sadie hadn’t broken any rules. She never physically harmed her. She fed and bathed her each night. She just had to put up with the mental abuse which is not illegal nor was bullying a crime.
Sadie passed the tests for Guardianship. She passed her home inspections as she provided a nice and safe place to stay. Sadly Christine was too exhausted each night to enjoy it and Christine would just collapse onto the bed. She was a prisoner in her own home and Sadie made sure she knew it.
Jordan couldn’t look away as he continued to watch the small woman get verbally assaulted by the teens. Shoved down against the tabletop with her massive shoe. She would run to avoid it only to be flicked back by the other giant teen.
“It was only then that one of the cafeteria monitors stepped in putting an end to it. Sadie merely grasped Christine and shoved her into the pocket of her bookbag before walking out of the lunchroom.
“disgusting, how she gets away with that,” Chloe said.
“Just like bad parents. There are definitely bad guardians out there. But Sadie makes it hard for the rest of us. She was in my guardian class. She did well on written tests, but on care and treatment, she always scored the lowest. She’s just a guardian for the money” Sara said.
“What a nightmare,” Ellie added. “Lot of good that did. She still gets to take her with her.”
“Just be thankful that’s not your life Body Hottie,” Sara said as she picked up another piece of sushi. “She wouldn’t be as lenient with you as I am. You have it pretty good mister.
Jordan couldn’t believe what he saw. He was sure there was worse treatment than that in the world. But, what he saw today was enough for him to understand. His complaints somehow seemed small in comparison
“Chloe, come to the bathroom with me. Ellie can you watch him for a couple of minutes.” Sara asked. However, before she even got a reply Jordan saw Ellie’s hands reaching towards him.
“Wait” was all Jordan managed to get out before Ellie’s hands wrapped around him. Her grip was strong and firm, unlike Sara’s normal grip of him. Jordan found himself struggling to breathe at first before Ellie loosened her grip on him.
“Take your time, I promise he won’t leave my sight,” Ellie said gleefully as she looked down at Jordan.

You be thankful to Sara, thankful you aren’t living Christine’s life or the “good” life you’ve given Jordan, and thankful for your immunity, that you’ll never need to worry about weather your Guardian will be lenient or not as you’ll never need one.
