Jordan watched Ellie run over to Sara and a squad of girls. The class had broken up into teams and played half-court basketball on either side of the gym. As far away as they were, Jordan couldn’t get over how big they still looked.
“What am I going to do now?” Jordan thought aloud as he walked along the fence of this miniature basketball court. He realized this was the first time in what felt like a while he was left alone with his thoughts. He didn’t have Sara or one of her friends hovering over him.
It all started to sink in that this was all real. This wasn’t some manufactured news story, and this wasn’t some political ploy or gimmick. In the back of his mind, even though he knew he had shrunk, he always thought any time with the Reeves family was temporary. They would build specialized housing and facilities for those afflicted. In reality, anything like that was nothing more than fiction.
The cold reality was Jordan knew that what Sara said was true. He didn’t believe the conspiracy theories that the virus was made by the government. But the notion that they would benefit from it was believable. That the president and politicians in power would create a program for the benefit of those in power and those with money was quite believable.
Even now, his own situation was that his well-off neighbors paid for his freedom because their daughter begged for him like he was a new iPhone. Now, he was stuck and referred to as her little man or body hottie.
“Hey! Are you okay?” Jordan heard the now loud voice of Daniela say, which for the first item, startled him. Normally, he heard the giants approach with their loud, clunky footsteps, but he had been so lost in thought he didn’t hear her coming.
“I’m fine. Considering.” Jordan said.
“You aren’t being hurt or anything? I really had no idea that you weren’t immune.” Daniela said as she looked down at Jordan.
“I’m fine. Really. Sara hasn’t mistreated me or anything. Nothing like what I saw in this school’s lunchroom.” Jordan said
“I’m not sure there is a way I can help you. If Sara’s family paid your fees and you consented, and if she’s not willing to give you up….”
“If you could just try to patch things up with Sara. I appreciate what you were trying to do for me earlier. Really I do, but if you continue down that road, Sara’s not going to let me ever see you again. So I know this is asking a lot. But, if you could just apologize. She’s not heartless. If she doesn’t think you’ll kidnap me at the first site, she’d probably let us still hang out.
“Do you hear yourself? Let us hang out? Like you need her permission? I mean, I get it. She is your guardian. Fine, You know this is against everything I believe in.” Daniela said.

I really like the changes you are making to the story, like how you are moving other aspects of the story to earlier pages where they really work with the story.
