“Can you believe her? It must suck to suck.” Sara fumed in the hallway as Ellie and Stephanie followed her out.
“Who? Tamara? She’s always been full of it. Especially since she got recruited to UCLA,” Ellie added.
Jordan struggled to wrap his mind around the events that happened all too quickly. One moment he was being held down by Tamara. The image of Ellie shoving Tamara with an amount of force that was incomprehensible to him in his current state. As no matter how much he pushed or struggled against Tamara, her finger was an immovable object to him. Sara’s hand blanketed him in rapid succession. Jordan felt embarrassed as Sara clutched him in her hands waging war on his behalf. He realized what Ellie said was true. Sara was willing to fight for him.
Stephanie looked down at Jordan with astonishment. She couldn’t believe how light he was. Stephanie hadn’t ever gotten to hold anyone with Smallera before. As she looked down at Jordan, she was about to touch him when her eyes darted upward, hearing a commotion in the hallway up ahead.
“You have the right to remain silent….” The large black man said to the teen as his female partner applied handcuffs as the teen heard her Miranda Rights.
“Isn’t that Kayla? What is going on?” Ellie asked as she watched tears stream down Kayla’s face causing her makeup to run.
“You are being charged with illegally harboring someone with Smallera, failure to notify the government upon discovery, failure to file and obtain licensure, and finally failure to legally document that you were housing someone with Smallera all in accordance with the Smallera Safe Harbor act.” The agent said
“We have taken custody of the victims from your residence who will be reassigned to a government care facility until a licensed individual can be assigned.”
“They aren’t victims they are my parents. We just couldn’t afford the fees. Please, let me see them.” Kayla shouted as the female officer restrained her forcing her back down to her knees.
“That may be the case. However, this isn’t China or Korea. We have strict regulations to ensure small rights are being upheld.” The male agent said
“Can they do that? They can’t do that, can they?” Ellie asked looking over at Sara.
“Of course, The current regime is a complete joke. They don’t actually care about small rights. They just care about small dollars.” Sara said “This is what I have been protecting you against. So, you’re welcome.” Sara said looking over at Jordan who had started to climb up Stephanie’s slightly inclined hand to see what was going on.
“I’m sure Chloe could tell you all you want to know and more about this Body Hottie. However, The universal reform bill, that was passed. You know the one that they promoted and as giving everyone in America healthcare and an undergraduate degree for free. It also included the safe harbors act. The safe harbors act is where the funding for Smallera vaccine research, immunity testing, care facilities, licensure, and stuff is all included under.
“Why is it called the safe harbors act? That name doesn’t even make sense.” Stephanie said.
“It’s because Rachel Harbors was the first person to contract Smallera in the United States. So they called it the safe harbors act as its goal is the safety, protection, and ethical treatment of all small citizens in the united states. However, its true goal is to line the pockets of those with money if you ask me. ” Sara said.
