The hot water started shooting out at Sara as she crouched down setting Jordan down on the wet floor. A few seconds later showers from Ellie and Stephanie could be heard turning on.
“I’m sorry that you weren’t immune. I’m sorry you got sick, and I’m sorry that Smallera took so much from you. It’s not fair how cruel this disease can be. It’s ugly how the government exploits you. How the laws are set up to work against you. I’m not going to stand here and tell you that this is fair because it’s not. I’m not going to tell you I can change it because I can’t
However, you are no longer capable of caring for yourself. If I left you alone in a room with nothing but an apple, you would starve to death. If I never saw you in the yard, and somehow, you survived the lawnmower. The only thing waiting for you is being killed by an animal or a spider or some other thing for food. Then if you somehow managed to avoid being eaten, you would freeze to death overnight. Now, if you managed to overcome all odds and make it through the night, the only thing waiting for you was to do it all again.
That is not your life because I came into your life. You have clothes because a person like me makes them and then I buy them for you. You have a home because I built one for you, and you have food because I provide you with it. You are safe because I protect you.
I’m not saying you don’t have rights, because you do. I’m not saying you can’t make choices because you can. However, you still have to live within the constructs of society, and your society has changed. You belong to me now. You live will be living with me from now on. You need to understand and accept that. Just like you have to come to terms with and accept everything we just talked about. Once you do that, then we can discuss your friends. Okay?” Sara said as she reached over towards Jordan who had a shocked look on his face and petted his head messing his hair up. “Right now, you just need to worry about being my whitto man,” Sara added affectionately in an infantile tone.
Jordan didn’t know what to say as he looked up at the giant teen who was standing back up to her full height. More and more steam filled the Shower area as the hot water pelted against Sara’s body. Before long hot soapy water was running down her body and splashing against the floor all around Jordan. He could hear the loud thunderous footsteps of more teenage girls walking into the shower area but the steam prevented him from seeing them. As much as he hated it. He stood near Sara’s foot knowing that steam made it dangerous for him anywhere else.
“Wasn’t that A little harsh Sara?” Ellie said quietly hoping Jordan wouldn’t hear her.
“I tried to get him to accept it on his own. I was hoping to show him more of the world would let it all sink in more but he wasn’t getting it. This was the only way. Now he just has to come to terms with it.” Sara whispered back.
