The world was changing, and Jordan could feel it happening. When he had shrunk by catching Smallera over the weekend, all the silly laws and blustery talk by politicians had become real. Now that he had caught the fabled disease like millions of others, he could no longer ignore it.
The doctor’s office was huge to him now. The walls were distant, and the air was cold. The fake leather reflected the light ever so slightly. Jordan shivered, contemplating asking Sara to hold him. His pride stood in his way. While the eyes of Sara loomed over him like the eye of Sauron from lord of the Rings. He didn’t dare look at her.
He felt the back of his neck where he assumed the chip would be inserted. He hated it. He understood the practicality of it all. He could see how it would be easier to receive medical attention. All of that made sense. What pushed Jordan to fight against it was once the chip was inserted, it would not be so easily removed. Especially if it was in the back of the neck.
A chip like that would forever broadcast his status. How could he hope to ever escape Sara when he was microchipped? A simple scan of a sensor would reveal him as hers. It would be that much harder for Daniela to help him. As no matter how much he changed his looks, He wouldn’t be able to hide from anything that could scan his chip.
Jordan heard the door open and watched Dr. Wilson stride into the room. She sat down on the chair next to the examination chair he was in. A small woman the same size as he stepped off her hand. She smiled warmly as Sara looked down at them both.
“I didn’t realize doctors were so small now. I mean, it makes sense that doctors could be afflicted just as easily as anyone else.” Sara said, answering aloud her own question.
“Oh, she’s not a doctor. She’s just been trained on how to perform some specific procedures. It’s much easier for her to get blood or injected with a vaccine than it would be for me. As when I do it, I have to use a specialized syringe and a high-powered magnifying glass.
“Oh, I suppose that would be difficult,” Sara said, nodding in understanding.
It felt strange to see someone who was just his size stand so close to him. Sara’s friend Mallory had Gavin, and he had seen that woman in the lunchroom. However, only Gavin was someone he was ever near. As he looked at the woman, he felt nervous.
“Hi, Body Hottie. My name is Lisa.” The small attendant said.
“If you have small workers like this. Why do I need this chip?” Jordan said once again.
“Lisa is the only person we have on staff, and as more people afflicted with Smallera are put into the system. It’s not feasible to have basically double the staff. A few specialized people like Lisa, sure. However, it would be expensive for every doctor to be partnered with a small teammate.” Dr. Wilson said.

Always makes me laugh how the size of littles was inconsistent in the beginning. You’ve come a long way.
In fairness, back then, Little (Or “underbred” since the term “Little” won’t be coined for another 27 chapters) sizes were random, and the idea that female Littles were bigger on average was retconned in later.
