The sound of laughter caused Jordan to stir. He opened his eyes not even remembering he had fallen asleep. Sleepily his eyes started to focus as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes. Looking about he was on some sort of table and just behind him was Sara.
“Did my Whitto man get a good sleep?” Sara said in a babyish voice as she reached down and stroked Jordan gently. He looked up at Sara and Chloe who was next to her. He was surprised that he didn’t awaken when they came from the car to the inside. He was unsure whose house they were at as he didn’t recognize it. He also wondered where this little blanket came from.
“You woke up at the right time. We are just about ready to start.” Sara added as Jordan looked down at himself seeing he was in some kind of costume.
“What happened to my clothes? How did you get me into this? Is this real leather? it feel like real leather? where did you get this?” Jordan said confused as to what was going on.
“This is your dungeons and dragons outfit silly. You look sooo adorable.”
“I don’t see why I couldn’t wear what I was wearing. You didn’t change outfits.” Jordan countered.
“It wasn’t factually accurate silly. You need to look the part so you can really get immersed in the world. I’m not going to be a part of the world like you.”
“What are you talking about?”
“You’re in the game silly. You are going to have so much fun. We are starting a new campaign so you’re getting in on the ground floor here.” Sara said excitedly “This is a real chance for us to do something together.”
“Yeah great,” Jordan said a bit reluctantly. But he could see she seemed to go through a lot of effort to include him. So, the least he could do was give it the old college try as they say. “Where’s Ellie? I thought you did this with your friends?”
“You’re too funny. You thought Ellie would be here? She’s probably with Mallory and Gavin. She doesn’t D&D. I mean that’s where Chloe’d normally be. They aren’t much into it. It’s just Steph and I normally.”
“I told you I’d check it out. If it looks fun maybe I’d do the next campaign thingy.”
“Oh, I’m sure Steph could write you in,” Sara said Excitedly.
“I-I couldn’t impose like that. I wouldn’t want to alter her creative vision like that.” Chloe said, staring at Stephanie.
“Yeah, it would be a little difficult with how I have this structured but next campaign would be easy.”
“Well, I guess that gives me more time to suck you in,” Sara said before looking down at Jordan. “I know my Whitto man is gonna enjoy this. So let me introduce you to the group. You know Steph already. Then you remember Lauren from science class, right? Then I don’t think you’ve met Ashley. She stepped out to go to the bathroom.”
