Jordan sat up between Chloe and Sara, leaning against the fabric-covered arm of Sara as he looked about the giant dining room. He had been on tables and counters before since his accident, but it didn’t make him any more comfortable. The fact that the entirety of his body could sit atop the table with complete and utter ease bothered him.
The booming, boisterous voices of the girls caused him to wince a bit as they all laughed and talked while getting settled for the gaming session. Jordan looked over at Chloe, who seemed to feel as out of place as he did. The only difference was that she was here by choice, and he was here because Sara was here. He figured this was going to be how things were probably going to be from now on. He would get drug around to wherever it was Sara was going. He was her emotional support person. So, it made a degree of sense based on how he had seen people with other emotional support animals. Jordan still felt a little unsure of what he was supposed to do as a support person. Was just being here what she needed, or was he supposed to be actively doing something? He figured he would ask Sara later when things were more private.
Jordan still felt lethargic. He hated this vaccine that Sara had the doctor give him. He understood the premise behind it, and in the long run, the discomfort now would be better than getting sick. He couldn’t help but hate it right now. However, he couldn’t fully blame this on the vaccine he had been given. He knew his body was incredibly tired from running about Dayton’s backyard.
“How are you doing?” Sara said, looking down at Jordan. It was jarring having her speak to him. He thought she was mad at him. He couldn’t blame her for being upset. He wasn’t sure what the consequences were for a guardian losing their little. He wanted to ask but figured it would probably not be wise. Jordan thought to himself a bit more that she must not be holding a grudge. He knew if their roles were reversed, he would probably be much more visibly upset.
“I’m a little physically tired still, but the nap helped a lot,” Jordan said.
“That’s good. You should feel normal tomorrow.” Sara added as her finger came down and she started petting Jordan gently with her finger. Jordan looked about feeling a bit embarrassed as Sara continued to pet him. He remembered back to earlier this afternoon when she was watching her anime. She used her fingers and gave him a full body massage. He remembered melting into her body. As good as that felt he hoped that she wouldn’t repeat that. The idea of him being so immobilized by someone very much his junior was embarrassing.
“Once we start, you’re going to have to go over to the map and stand on this square here,” Sara said as she pointed to the square. Jordan looked at the square and then at Sara for a moment unsure at first if he needed to do that now or later. After a moment of awkward silence, he moved over to the square.
“Like this?”
“Yeah perfect,” Sara added.
“Sorry, that took so long,” Ashley said walking into the room. As she walked into the room her eyes immediately fell on Jordan.
“Whoa, you have an underbred? I thought that was just some kind of action figure you had as it wasn’t moving before.” Ashley said.
