Jordan rolled his eyes a bit as here was yet another one of Sara’s friends. As someone who was relatively introverted and kept to himself. It was unreal how many people she knew and interacted with. He wondered how she could suffer from depression to the point where an intervention of some kind took place when she is around so many different people. However, he tried not to judge. As he had only been around her a few days and wasn’t sure how close she was with any of them other than Ellie and Chloe.
It had been a few days now but first contact was unnerving. He hated how their eyes drifted to him and then locked onto him. He felt like a bullseye as they inevitably walked toward him. This teen seemed extra annoying. He could hear her smacking on her gum like some kind of cow as she walked further and further into the room. Jordan couldn’t believe no one would say anything. However, he wasn’t aware that none of the girls noticed as only Jordan’s hearing was more heightened to sounds.
Jordan looked over at Sara who was talking to Chloe and Stephanie. Looking back at this Ashley Jordan’s eyes quickly went to another girl who he recognized. Lauren, from Sara’s science class. She made no real move toward him, nor did she seem all that interested in him. Which was fine by Jordan. He just was going to need to shake this Ashley who seemed to have taken an interest in him.
As the giant teen walked further into the room and rounded the table the smacking only got louder. She blew a small pink bubble before popping it and looking down at Jordan. The distinct impression Jordan had was that she had little to no encounter with a little. Which wasn’t all that surprising. He hadn’t been around any before becoming one and while the outbreak over the past weekend was more than the medical system could handle. It was still a relatively small portion of the population in the United States. So even now the idea of seeing someone like him was novel to most. He suspected it would stay that way for quite some time due to scarcity and cost. The only thing that would change that was if a sizeable portion of the population in the states was as vulnerable as the overseas population, but it seemed like people in the states and some other countries were more likely to be immune than people in other countries for some unknown reason.
Jordan’s thoughts were pushed to the side as while to most they would see a petite teen girl. She was more like a hulking giant to Jordan. He took a few steps back as her hand approached. It was moving much too quickly for Jordan to keep up with. He could feel the air being displaced by her hand’s forward momentum. It hit Jordan like a strong gust of wind nearly knocking him to his feet. He expected to feel a warm powerful grip of Ashley’s fingers but instead, he heard a slapping noise erupt that sounded more like thunder which caused his ears to ring.
“You can’t just grab him like that Ashley,” Sara said as she knocked the girl’s hand away. While giving her a glare Jordan hadn’t ever seen Sara use at all before. He could see her body tense as just a few minutes ago she was loose and bubbly.
