“Well if you’re going to worry you can just grab it,” Jordan said as Sara reached and grabbed him with one hand while grabbing the can with the other.
“Just know I could have moved it,” Jordan said as he shivered in Sara’s hand.
“I know, you have way more little muscles than I thought Jordan. I just didn’t want you straining or pulling anything. Plus the temperature in the fridge is quite extreme for you.” Sara said trying to make herself out to be the bad guy as to not bruise his ego.
Lowering her face toward Jordan Sara exhaled some of her hot breath onto Jordan in an attempt to warm him up. After blowing warm air on him a couple of times she could see that he was no longer visibly shivering in her hand anymore.
“I didn’t forget about lunch the other day. You can have some of my soda. We will just need to let your portion warm up a little. It’s going to be way too cold for you direct from the fridge. What’s cold to me and what is cold to you are very different now. Cold to you would be slightly below room temperature.” Sara explained as she closed the fridge doors.
“Oh yeah, I have been meaning to ask you as I can’t remember if I asked before. You don’t have any medical conditions I need to be aware of do you? Like peanut allergies, medications or anything? Since they didn’t mention any medication at the hospital and I didn’t see anything in your medicine cabinet when we were going through stuff at your house prior to turning it over for sale.”
“No allergies or medications,” Jordan said feeling warmer. He was thankful for the fact Sara was helping to warm him up. He couldn’t shake how it did feel a bit humiliating that just her blowing warm air on him was enough to rise his body temperature enough to stop shivering from being inside her fridge. He never imagined just how cold a fridge would be to him now and not to mention how painfully cold the aluminum can would feel against his skin. None of this seemed normal to him, but Jordan was well aware that this was a process of finding new norms for what his life was going to be.
“Ok good. We won’t have to worry about that then.” Sara said as looked down at Jordan and gave him a few gentle pets to show affection. In her mind, it would be ideal if he were teddy bear size as it would be easier to hug him and be a bit more affectionate with him. However, she cared for her little pet person Jordy all the same.
“Now when we head upstairs we are going to stop off at the bathroom. If you have to go now is the time. I don’t want to get all comfortable and then hear you whining about needing to go later. We’re then going to get your little teeth brushed and get my wittle man all de-stinkied from today and smelling all nice.
“I’m normally pretty good. I just shower like every other day.”
“First Ew! Boys are so gross. You were running all around Dayton’s yard and you have to remember now that you are little. You have to work a lot harder to do things. So you’re expending more energy. It’s not like you are just sitting in an office all day. You will be at least cleaned daily from now on.”
“I’m cleaning myself though.”
“Well, you aren’t a baby. I would hope so.” Sara said as she started walking away from the fridge.
