Sara bounded down the stairs unaware of Jordan trying to climb to the top of her pocket. Jordan was forced to just hold on as the idea of making any kind of progress toward the top of her pocket was quickly erased from his mind.
Jordan’s body was battered about as he gripped the fabric tightly. As Sara bounded down the stairs he was feeling real regret over trying to climb up to the top. As it stood now though he was much too high to go back down and just give up.
As Sara reached the main floor of the house Jordan felt thankful. As the bouncing and turbulence of the pocket while still present were much more manageable.
Jordan slung his arms over the top of the pocket and pulled himself up enough so that he could peer out. Sara still looked massive as her body churned and moved throughout the home. As they finally stopped Jordan looked upward at Tiffany. Jordan knew better than to call out to her. He firmly belonged to Sara and Tiffany wouldn’t do anything to change that. He knew that much already.
“Yeah Mom,” Sara said in a respectful tone but her body language clearly said this was an inconvenience why did you call me here?
“I found your AirPods laying around the house again. I thought I told you to keep up with them. If I have to tell you again you will lose them.
“yes Mom, Thank you for finding them,” Sara said grabbing them from her mother’s grip. “Sorry, it won’t happen again,” Sara said as she gripped the earbuds briefly before looking down at her pocket briefly to drop in her AirPods into her pocket when Sara spotted Jordan with his arms draped over her pocket looking around. She briefly wagged her finger at Jordan before dropping her AirPods into her pocket. The movement of Sara’s hand surprised Jordan Jarring him from his perch as he tumbled back down into the depths of Sara’s pocket.
As Sara moved around the house this time he stayed in the bottom of her pocket. It seemed pointless to climb back up when any sudden movement of her hand would be enough to knock him back down here. As Sara walked around he noticed how much more stable everything was at the bottom of her pocket. Jordan was relieved when he heard her bedroom door open and close.
“I have half a mind to leave you in there,” Sara said before grabbing Jordan as she sat down on her bed.
“I don’t like being in your pocket. I can’t see anything and it makes me feel like an item.” Jordan said
“Jordan we just talked not that long ago about you staying where I put you. If I didn’t know what you were doing I could have very easily knocked you right out of that pocket. I was very careful going down the stairs because I felt you climbing but you could have gotten hurt.” Sara scolded.
“Well, I should have been on your shoulder or in your hand. If you don’t put me in pockets, purses, or bookbags…”
“Getting to ride on my shoulder or hold you as I move about is a privilege, not a right. If I put you in a pocket or my purse or anywhere else I expect you to stay in there until I take you out. There is no wiggle room on this. You’re not being punished and I’m not mad at you. I just want you to understand I’m very serious about this.” Sara said ” Not to mention its very difficult to little walk everywhere as I have to hold my body stable and still as I move. I can’t slouch or unconsciously just move about. I have to be constantly scanning to see who is coming towards me and who is around me. I could leave you here but you don’t like being left in your habitat. I promise to be cognizant of your needs and limit your time in pockets, purses, and handbags. But, if you’re in there you need to stay in there. Do you understand?”
“Yes,” Jordan said a bit upset that he was being talked to like this. But, he thought better about saying anything more about it.
“That’s a good boy,” Sara said giving Jordan another loving pet. “I don’t do this to be mean. It’s because I need to keep you safe and if I don’t know where you are you could get hurt, lost, or killed. Do you know how horrible i would feel if you got knocked off and then someone stepped on you?”
