“Yeah, it’s important for you to interact with other underbreds. As they will be of similar size to you. So I think that it will be good for you.” Sara said a bit more gleefully than Jordan would have liked. This seemed to him that he was some kind of puppy she was socializing with other dogs. He couldn’t fathom what kind of benefit having this could have for him.
“I can see on your little face you are skeptical,” Sara added as she looked at Joran.
“How good is your vision?” Jordan said aloud thinking that there was no way she should have been able to see facial mannerisms.
“Good enough and don’t change the subject. What’s wrong with you meeting other underbreds?”
“I’ve never been the most social of people. I don’t go around trying to meet new people like you. You’re a social butterfly. You seemingly have more friends than I have had in my entire life.” Jordan said feeling his introverted side recoiling at the thought.
“Well, then this will be a good thing for you to step outside your comfort zone. Besides it’s not like we are going now.”
“I don’t really go out and meet people like this. You have so many friends even meeting all of them has been a lot for me. As oftentimes there is no reprieve it’s new person after new person I’m meeting.” Jordan said trying to explain his point of view.
“Well, you’ve met most of the important people in my life. Sure I have some other friends you haven’t met but they aren’t as close or trusted as the ones you have met. But, it’s important for you to interact socially with people who are going through the same underbred issues you are.”
“Well, it doesn’t seem like there is any talking you out of this,” Jordan said as he finished up scrubbing her other AirPod. He briefly let his mind wander to the fact that these giant things fit into her ears. It was hard to fathom it even with her large size. As while he was larger than the airpod itself it was like a large speaker to him. He could never hope to use anything like this for anything other than an actual speaker.
As he glanced around the room beside the desk was a massive ring light, she used when she was streaming. Then next to that hat was the hanging chair they were in before. Even on this desk everything just seemed so vast. Sara’s room was almost a world unto itself to him.
“Oh, I forgot to mention I have a surprise for you. I wasn’t sure with you running away today that I should still give it to you as I don’t want to reward that kind of behavior. But, I know it was just a poor decision on your part and you understand that now.”
“I’m not going to run away again. I swear. I don’t know how else to prove it to you.” Jordan said. He understood why she was skeptical to trust him though. The act of him running was a violation of her trust. While as much as he tried to push it off as he wasn’t running from her or he was running to her. He knows Sara is too smart for that. While he truly wasn’t specifically running from her. He was more running from everything and not wanting to accept any of this. It doesn’t change the facts of what happened. He knew he would need to re-earn her trust in this regard. As it was apparent he was on a short leash after all this.
