The chatter above him was constant. Just a few months ago, he remembered he was talking with his guy friends as they speculated on just what girl talk was. Now, he doesn’t have to wonder anymore as he found himself privy to all the girl talk he could handle.
Gavin sighed quietly as he dipped his sponge into the cleaning solution bucket before scrubbing the toe ring on her 4th toe. Mallory loved how he could get between all the ridges and edges when he cleaned her jewelry. So when she or her friends would look down at her jewelry, it would be pristine. Very quickly, this became something she expected of him as her boyfriend.
The past few days, Gavin had found Mallory had been all about this new girl she met named Sofie. She was an exchange student from England who had come here as part of a study abroad program. So Sofie and Mallory had spent much of the day discussing the differences between the two countries. However, at some point, the discussion had shifted to being about their boyfriends. Gavin hated how the conversation was being held above him, as their voices could easily overpower him. He had to wait until a pause in the conversation occurred just to be able to speak, which was easier said than done, as Mallory was naturally a fast speaker.
“So he really just polishes your jewelry and does your nails like that? I can’t even get Mac to carry my purse into the store or rub my feet if they are sore. Gavin doesn’t have much of a choice, though. I mean, your purse alone would flatten him.” Sofie said offhandedly as she looked down at Gavin.
“He’s not my slave Sofie. If he didn’t want to, he could stop at any point. Gavin loves doing this for me, don’t you, baby? I just do so much for him. This is how he feels he can give back and support me. Don’t you, babe?”
“O-of course Mal. I love you. This is just a token of my love for you.” Gavin spewed out as he looked up at Mallory for assurance, who smiled lovingly at her boyfriend.
“In England, Underbreds work as houseboys and housegirls. They get protection, room, and board in exchange for working for families carrying out size-appropriate tasks. It’s a whole system, but we’ve had to deal with it longer. It’s still surprising to see someone Gavin’s size in a relationship with you and for it to be so loving.
“Oh my gosh, I couldn’t imagine doing that to him. He’s the love of my life. I don’t see his size. He’s the man he always has been, just a better version of himself. He is more loving and caring than he has ever been.” Mallory said, looking down at her phone.
“Gavin, you remember Body Hottie don’t you?”
“Yeah, the guy Ellie likes.”
“Right, I guess he caught Smallara, and Sara found him. She has him in some kind of habitat…Oh, sorry, Sofie. Sara is one of our friends, and Body Hottie is this guy Ellie is obsessed with. Like she sells him Girl Scout cookies, and she’s not even a girl scout. I will get her to send you a pic of him.”

Interesting to hear how England is treating them, (it doesn’t sound that far off from how Sara treats Jordan to me) How’s Sophie gonna handle the borders closing? will she return home or get stuck in America? and I’m guessing this is the point where Good girlfriend Catches up with Smallara proper.
Sofie isn’t mentioned again in the story. So its really left rather ambiguous as to what happens to her. She could have went back home or she could have stayed. she’s not really a character that exits beyond this small arc.
I think its a bit different then what Sara does with Jordan as she takes Jordan places and he doesn’t inherently serve her in a role servitude.
I think Jordan probably works a lot less then a houseboy or housegirl would.
It’d be interesting to get an off-handed mention or a cameo in future, lol.
I agree, though there are definite similarities, Jordan’s not a houseboy, he’s a where-ever-the-hell-Sara takes-him-boy, and Sara definitely expects him to serve her in exchange for her protecting him, even going as far as to physically lash out when he refused to in 107.5.
I’d agree that he likely does less work than the average houseboy, but he’d get pranked, harassed and generally messed with much more than they would.
