Jordan swallowed the last bit of pancake that he took as he looked from left to right, hoping to see something that he could use to break free. Unfortunately, the syrup held him like glue to the plate. As Jordan looked down, he could see that the syrup had run all over the plate when he ripped off a piece of the pancake. His eyes wandered back to the scene of the crime as he looked over at the pancake; he could still see a bit of syrup draining off the pancake.
“I need to get off this plate before Sara notices. She can’t catch me like this.” Jordan said to himself with more fright in his voice than he expected from the thought of his teenage guardian. He could see a fork in the distance that he contemplated if he could somehow manage to maneuver the fork closer to him, but it was much too far from. Jordan was beginning to be overwhelmed with desperation as he looked for a way to extricate himself from the situation. Jordan began to wonder if he could pull himself onto the pancake itself. The upward motion could somehow create enough force to pull his feet free. The only counterpoint he could think of was that he would be covered in syrup and butter. He also may end up stuck to the pancake, or even if he wasn’t, he wouldn’t be able to hide the fact from Sara that he had not listened to her.
Jordan kept trying to jump and pull his feet free from the sticky syrup, but the more he tried, the more desperate he became. A new level of humiliation was starting to sink in. Jordan finally faced the reality he was completely stuck to the plate by maple syrup.
“JORDAN REEVES,” Sara bellowed loud enough for him to cover his ears as she looked over at the table to check on what he was doing. A chill ran down Jordan’s spine as he turned his neck, only to see Sara looking directly at him.
“Sara, it’s not what it looks like!” Jordan pleaded.
“Oh really? It looks like you were trying to get some of the pancakes I left on my plate. You know, the same pancakes I told you that you couldn’t have today as they are too messy and sticky. We have things to do and places to be, and I didn’t want to spend the time cleaning you.”
“Okay, so this is exactly what it looks like, but, to be fair, you only said it was messy. But I realize now that this probably isn’t helpful.”
“You think? I told you, no, and that should be all you need. I just got done telling my parents how obedient you are. I was bragging about you to them about how good you are and how well you listen. You are just lucky they have already left or else we’d both be in trouble.” Sara said, walking over to the table. Although I do have to admit, you look so silly stuck in maple syrup.” Sara said with a laugh, betraying her frustrated persona.
“Just a sec. Let me free you.” Sara said before as she dug into her pocket and pulled out her phone.
“What are you doing? I thought you were freeing me?” Jordan said as he continued to try to pull his legs up.” He then looked back up at Sara, and as soon as he did, he heard the snap of a photo being taken on her phone.
“I will. I just need to get this posted to insta first.” Sara said as she uploaded the picture to her page.
“You’re what!” Jordan shouted.
“It’s just my private Instagram account for friends and family. It’s not my public one for promotions and stuff.”
“That doesn’t make it better. Take it down!” Jordan said, his arms flailing as he found himself almost losing balance.
“Be careful; I don’t want you blowing your knee out,” Sara said as she walked over to the table and plucked Jordan free with the greatest of ease. Jordan couldn’t believe how easy it was for her while he struggled for several minutes, making no progress.
“Look at how messy you are. You were just cleaned last night. I’m going to have to wash you again now before we go. I expect you to listen to me from now on. If I say no, it means no.” Sara added as she picked up her plate and glass with her free hand and carried them over to the sink.

1, so he is still Jordan Reeves? I’d assumed by “my only condition is my name” he meant gping back to Jordan AND Fitz.
2, Sara’s having the reaction I’d expect from her. The photo going to family may mean her parents still see it though.
3, Sara’s really not one to talk about disobedience, given how little of her punishment she actually honoured yesterday.
4, Sara still doesn’t get that she needs to earn obedience from him. She claimed “I told you, no, and that should be all you need.” That’s a level of respect and trust she’s no where near deserving from him.
1 – his new legal name is Jordan Reeves. He can’t go back to Fitz now from a legal standpoint in this world. So while Sara can stop calling him Body Hottie. He will always be Jordan Reeves.
2 – Well her parents monitor all her socials. They wouldn’t know he disobeyed which is what she was concerned with. The mess is just an annoyance but would only kind of work to prove Tiffany’s point of why he shouldn’t be allowed on the table.
3 – I mean she was home well before curfew. Plus i feel like its more of do as I say not as I do situation. As fair treatment and equal treatment are different. Sara has to my knowledge never promised to treat him equally. Fairly sure, but i don’t remember actually saying I will treat you as an equal.
4 – Probably because she’s holding her own standards to him. She for the most part is a pretty obedient daughter. If her mom says to do something she does do it. She may whine about it but she does do it.
1- really? Kinda figured with his personhood up in the air legally changing his name would be easier not harder. He’s getting less and less out of his “only condition.”
2. That makes sense.
3. She went to D&D and had a social call while babysitting, both are violating her punishment.
4. A, If she’s going to hold Jordan to her own standards she’ll need to hold herself to Tiffany’s, and Tiff has spent almost sixteen years earning the trust and respect from Sara that translates to that level of obedience.

B, I didn’t know Sara was obedient, not saying she isnt but from what you’ve shown I actually thoughs she was a bit of a problem child, doing the minimum she has to, if that, straight up ignoring instructions on a whim and making an effort to lie to and hide things from her mother or going through her father if she’s not sure Tiff would give the answer she wants.
ohhh after this humilation he will absolutly try to escape while they are at school especially when he will be mocked by the other girls with comments under that pic or at lunchtime in school… after that failed attempt to escape he will get the collar i think so he will never get away anymore.
Also 3 I agree that fair treatment and equal treatment aren’t the same, Sara isn’t actually doing either. And while she never promised to treat him as an equal, it’s not like her promises matter anyway, she promised he wasn’t a pet after all.
I would argue she has only ever been fair with him based on the societal structure that she is raised in. While, you philosophically disagree with her views and politics. That doesn’t make them any less valid.
She views him as a pet person and treats him as a pet person. She had said she views him not equal to her and treats him as such. Even knowing that Jordan agreed to stay with Sara instead of the unknown of the system.
She doesn’t treat him as a pet as she understands he is self-aware. So it would be impossible to do otherwise.
I’d say part if the problem is that she views herself as the sole arbiter of what is and isn’t fair, but Jordan seems to believe that his treatment isn’t fair, and id say his opinions on the matter are far more relevant than Sara’s, after all it is him getting treated like this.
I know she views him as a pet person, and that her treatment of him is based around that and that its the focal point idmf this story.
I think I just expected her to have had some character development and am a but disappointed in her immediately returning to her old self the moment he stops slavishly obeying her.
Don’t get me wrong criticise her as I do I’m still thoroughly enjoying the story and do find her very entertaining.

1 – She gave him what he asked for. He basically didn’t want to be called body hottie he wanted to be called by his name. Sara is honoring that by calling him either Jordan or Jordy.
3 – never said she was a saint. Just that she was obedient.
4A – She would go with what she knows though. So shes probably treating jordan how she was treated and figuring he will learn from the discipline what is wrong, right and expected. As she would be a product on the environment she was raised in just the same as you or I would be.
4B – I mean I’ve shown shes a straight A student, she holds a regular job, a streaming job, upholds her sponsorship deals.Completes her homework on time, etc. However, shes still a teenager and teenagers are going to push the boundaries and rebel a bit. It wouldn’t be realistic if she didn’t.
1, if that’s really all he wanted than I guess that’s all he gets.
3, relatively obedient. Definitely likes Tiff thinking she’s obedient.
4, a, probably is how she perceived her early life, but she’s also acknowledged that she needs to “work on building trust” so perhaps she’ll learn how much trust she needs to earn before he obeys without question.
4, b, intelegance and obedience are not the same thing, I’m just going with what we’d been shown of her behaviour, her achievements aren’t automatically meaning that she’s good, I understand her testing boundaries but kind of thought that was her default not a thing she does occasionally.
I agree with you that intelligence and obedience are different. I think the main difference is the level of transgressions and how they’re viewed. The things Sara has done that are disobedient toward her mom weren’t all that big of a deal in my eyes. Based on how I raised.
However depending on what was acceptable and what a person could get away with that changes what how severe the transgressions are.
I understand and agree with that. Sara’s behaviour wasn’t my main issue here, it was her hypocrisy about it, as that’s neither equal nor fair.
I agree that her transgressions haven’t been that bad, though I’m of the belief that Jordan’s have been much less than hers and that she often over punishes him for them. Worst thing he did was the escape attempt and that, in my maintained opinion, was a consequence of his Sara had been treating him.
That perspective shot along with Sara’s expression is great.

Seems like he got away with it without too much backlash. She may re-visit the situation later on but maybe not. I think of all the pictures Sara took of Jordan, this is the least embarrassing one.
Jordan definitely was only thinking of himself here. I’m sure he was confident that nothing bad was going to happen and his plan was simple enough, but he didn’t consider the worst case scenario involved using up more of Sara’s time. Plus exposing to Sara that he’s still an opportunist when least expected.
Asuka, you could have been slick here and made “379” the photo that Sara had taken 🙂 Only problem is Jordan is positioned differently.
He could have gotten punished alot worse but time will tell if there is any fallout.
I did think about it making the photo the photo sara took. However, I didn’t want to render two images to make one plus have to do the photoshop work. As i was feeling lazy at the time.
