Jordan was beside himself. He vaguely remembered Sara talking about Charity the day she brought him to school but the day was filled with so many new experiences it was difficult to recall exactly who she was. It wasn’t until the cold, cutting remarks were traded back and forth as the girls started their verbal sparring match.
More than anything, Jordan wanted to step in and break this up. Just a week ago he would have been able to step between the two young women and easily broke this up. Although in his heart of hearts, Jordan knew his introverted self would never be able to interject himself into such a situation. He would probably watch from afar.
“Are you okay? I can’t believe she would do that.” Sara said as she reached down towards Jordan and gave him several pets down the length of his body in an attempt to comfort him and let him know that he was safe. While easing her own worry that he was injured.
“I’m fine, just a little shaken up. One doesn’t expect to be suddenly plummeting to their death.” Jordan said still trying to fully catch his breath.
“She’s just such a bitch. You don’t have to worry about her. God doesn’t like ugly, as they say. Can you turn over I just want to make sure you’re not bleeding or hurt anywhere.” Sara said as now Jordan wondered if just falling to his death wouldn’t have been more merciful. As now he had to deal with Sara mothering him. While he appreciates the concern, he’s not used to having someone care for him in that way. Just wanting it to be over, Jordan rolled over as Sara inspected every square millimeter for any sign of injury or bleeding.
“Don’t you think you were a little harsh? I mean I get she wasn’t exactly coming at you nicely but…”
“She’s always been like that, Jordan. You don’t understand how cruel Charity is. Any niceness that comes out of her has a price. Just because my family isn’t as well off as she is, she has made it her mission in life to make my life miserable. Do you know what it’s like having to be berated and called food stamps in front of all your peers? It’s horrible and so embarrassing. She’s the kind of person who will trip you when you’re not looking just so she can publicly laugh in your face and berate you. Charity’s favorite pastime is humiliating others in public. It’s basically a sport to her. How quickly can she make someone cry? What can she say that will devastate that person most? Then afterward and she moves on she doesn’t even think about it. Most people, if you make someone cry, stop, but not Charity; she views that as an opening to double and triple her efforts. When she finally does move on that person who she wrecked is just poofed from her mind because they are so far beneath her they don’t warrant knowing. It’s why I’m food stamps because unless you’re important, she doesn’t bother knowing your name. Like she calls Mr. Davis specks even though he’s like the best teacher in the school.
Most people can’t say anything because her family donates money to the school for buildings and projects. If you want to know why one of the reasons I have to take pills every day to help put a smile on my face, it’s her.” Sara said with a long pause. “When I survived after my failed attempt to you know, I had to try to build myself back up. I had to learn how to find things that gave my life meaning and to prove to myself that I was worth something. When I found out she wasn’t immune, it was like there was justice in this world.”
“I’m sorry, I had no idea. She sounds horrible. Really, she does. But what you said was also about me. I’m a little or an underbred or whatever you want to call it.” Jordan at a loss at how to respond to something like that.
“How could you know? It’s all in the past. That’s not how I feel about you, though, Jordan. You’re my special wittle man.”
“You basically called every underbred an animal.”
“Well, Jordy, you are an animal, as that’s just science. You can’t change what you are. A rabbit can’t change the fact it’s a rabbit any more, then you can change the fact you’re an underbred. But how I feel about you isn’t how I feel about Charity. Just like I feel about Gavin differently than I feel about you and Charity. You’re my friend, my pet; you’re someone I can share everything with. It’s not like I recounted to Ellie or Steph the minute details of what led me to try to end myself. That’s just something I shared with you. If you’re mad about this little socializing, I didn’t tell you to be mean. I didn’t tell you because I knew you wouldn’t do it. I want to get you a little outside your comfort zone so you can meet new people. I know it’s not your thing, but we both have to do things we aren’t comfortable with sometimes so we can be better. Don’t worry; if this goes south, I will get you out of the situation, and we’ll go pick up Ellie. Okay?”
Jordan nodded as he took in Sara’s words while he fully caught his breath. He wasn’t sure what to say. As he was never great in this situation. As uncomfortable as speaking his mind was, he felt like it led to him understanding Sara a bit more and feeling like they have a bit of common ground to work from.
“We should go find Kayla, though,” Sara said as she gave Jordan a few pets before lifting him back up onto her shoulder. Sara walked down a few different paths, and Jordan found that he was already lost. He was trying to keep track of which directions they went and how to get back to the car if they got separated, but he was hopelessly lost. He found with everything so disproportionately larger than him tracking direction was impossible.

1. She had a suicide attempt, that’s what she meant by “needed an intervention”, still not really cool to just drop it in him with almost no warning.
2. She humiliates Jordan fir fun, it’s horrible how “you’re not human” justifies her doing horrible things to him that others have done to her.
3. Charity’s name being ironic is hilarious.
4. Sara, this whole experience has been Jordan getting pushed out of his comfort zone, you need to let him establish a new comfort zone before trying to get him to leave it. This is insensitive even for you.
5. Sara really shouldn’t be using terms that she calls Jordan several times a day as insults
6. I’m glad that this got discussed right away, it’d sour the day a bit yo have this looming over their heads.
7. She knew he wouldn’t like it but did it anyway without warning is a huge part of her issues as a guardian.

10. I’m curious how Sara found out Charity was immune, can’t be something she willingly made public information.
1 – Yeah, I will note that i need to be more clear. I didn’t realize it wasn’t as clear as i thought it was that her depression resulted in an attempt on her life from what happened with Kaitlyn and Charity.
2 – I don’t thinks she considers what she is doing humiliating I think she is honestly just joking around with him like she does with her other friends.
3 – i know, i love it.
4 – I don’t think its insensitive personally. I think of it more as showing her age in that shes trying something but not maybe fully understanding that maybe you wait a bit. But you could argue her intentions came from a good place.
5 – that happens in our world though. in English a lot of words have different meanings based on context and tone.
6 – it was a nice development for them both. As Jordan verbalized what bothered him and then Sara was able to at least address it without becoming something bigger.
7 – People do this to other people a lot. I think that’s just people being people personally.
1. I had guessed self harm but didn’t realise it was full on suicide attempt, or Charity’s involvement. But more to the point this should have been a conversation in the car before it after therapy.
2. I’d wager Charity considers her actions “just joking” to. Sara needs to build a friendship with Jordan before she’ll be able to do this in a way that isn’t bullying, she’s had years with her other friends, not even a week with Jordan.
3. Ironic names are always funny.
4. Showing why minimum age to be a guardian shouldn’t be lower than 18 .
5. Fair enough, the way she repeated “underbred” instead of using her name definitely felt different to how she called Jordan. But I know for a fact it still hurts when people do that.
6. If only all their disagreements were handled so amicably. Though an apology is still due here.
7. Yeah and those people are rarely looked upon kindly, it’s one of the worst surprises someone could get.
1 – Most people are reluctant to share Trauma. So I personally think its understandable she would be hesistent to share. But, probably felt she needed to after everything that was said in front of Jordan.
2 – The intent behind Charity’s actions is a bit different than Sara’s joking around. As Charity wasn’t ever joking around.
4 – That wouldn’t make the most business sense but morally 100%.
8 – I expected that reaction from you.
1. That’s true, though as her therapy aid it’d also make sense that he shouldn’t be kept in the dark. Suppose it’s a six of one half a dozen of the other type deal.
2. Fair enough though, it’s still bullying, everything Charity’s done to Sara, Sara’s either done to Jordan or something close enough to count. As I’ve said Sara needs to earn that kind of relationship with him where these jokes aren’t bullying
4. Makes sense, they’d need to lower the price if they were only selling to adults.
8. She’s a fucken hypocrit.
I definitely don’t have any more expectations with this story, to see something deeper where the story of giants would be more of a backdrop to discuss the human condition, to be a metaphor for problems we still experience in the world today. It seems to me that it will be just another story about giants, the characters Jordan and Sara will be the same at the end of the story as they were at the beginning of the story. I’m sorry this is the path the story is going to take.
1 – they had character development today, so I’m unsure what you mean by develop deeper into something. What you are saying didn’t happen literally happened in this chapter as the fact they were giant and tiny was a backdrop to discuss issues and conditions of their world.
The characters as they exist now aren’t the same as they were at the start of the story. Today, both characters have developed.
2 – secondly, while I appreciate your feedback, you realize I’m over a month ahead of what is posted on content, right? You literally posted constructive criticism and feedback yesterday. Even if I took every piece of feedback I got from you and everyone else yesterday and incorporated it all into some hypothetical mega chapter It would be 2024 before anyone would see it because of the production pipeline of this story.
It takes hours to write and create images and then additional time to render. I’m not out here making this each day. It’s all in addition to the 40+ hours a week I do system administration work.
3 – lastly, you’re talking about creating content that takes on the human conditions and experiences we have into today world. I didn’t specifically set out to do that. But, bigger picture those kind of changes happen over a long period of time. They don’t happen over pages. You are talking about a change of the core tenants of the world they live in. Which would be a macro change. That’s something that would be told over an extend period of time. I release 1 page each weekday. It will take way more time then 24 hours to see that kind of development. I started this story in 2020 or 2021 and now 2023 almost 2024 and I’ve gotten this far. It will take time for any large changes as the world in their world to take place. We are still seeing the ramifications of them coming to grips rightly or wrongly with tiny people existing and you’re talking about the solution.

Asukafan2001 I understand your difficulties, limitations when writing and posting. I want you to understand that your story was the first story about giants that motivated me to post reviews because for the first time I found a story about a giant theme in which I saw the potential for something deeper. I want to say that your story is far above anything I’ve ever read on the topic of giants, which is why I saw great potential and wanted to contribute by expressing opinions. Another thing you say is that I want events in history that are for a story that would only be possible at the macro level. I don’t want that, it’s possible to reach the macro from the micro. Your story could very well be a window to see what happens in the macro. There is a historical current called micro history that starts from the study of micro realities, for example the study of a historical character that in itself allows us to understand the macro, the customs, the culture of a time. There is an Italian historian, Carlos Ginsburg, who is a specialist in this historiographical trend, his best book in my opinion is called: The Cheese and the Worms. Continuing with your micro history you can talk about the macro through it. But I agree with you, I exaggerated the criticism I made in this chapter, I think I was disappointed to see Jordan once again receive everything passively, not generating any more significant reaction in him to what he heard and how it affects him. I believe this can still happen. I will continue reading your story. Sorry if I write too much, but I’m only writing so much as a way of contributing to the evolution of your story. What were your expectations? I’m not sure I understand your perspective on this. This is a story about I guy living in a world that people with a different DNA shrink from a virus, in contrast people have been thought of as less than human all throughout history, and while we can look back and think that was bad (and yes it was and still is bad) for people living in that time it was normal and society accepted. Even now your views are based on the socially acceptable views of our time and world and I believe it to be unfair to impose 100% of our views on characters in a world we didn’t grow up in. For example trees sing to each other every day they have lots of communication with each other they grow consume food reproduce, so they may be as alive as us and they are farmed and killed for us every day. So it’s like someone from a world ware people can talk to the trees and have respect for them calling you a monster because you house is made from trees. It’s not an apples to apples comparison. And if your looking for non stop action your not really going to have much of a story and never 400 chapters long. This story really gives you the minute by minute account of his life in this world as it has evolved. Also he has only been with her for what a week or 2 how much do any of us grow in that amount of time.
Sorry, don’t worry, I don’t intend to make any more comments about the story, the ones I wanted to make I already made and were directed to the author with the intention of giving him ideas that could enrich the story. Now I know Sara cares for Jordan I really do but damn she is really up and down and all over the place in her views. She values his opinions but doesn’t see him as a human she keeps calling him a pet but understands he is more than just an average cat or dog. Like I just don’t like how she feels morally right about what Jordan is he is a person. I don’t really understand where she was going with the whole he is factually an animal like what the hell. He is a mammal sure but so is she I just need someone to put some facts on her on this whole debate.
Jordan I know it’s not your thing to not argue back a lot but damn grow some balls and stand your ground a bit more.
Overall I need more debating with Sara and Jordan on this whole pet/underbred/ now animal and don’t get me wrong Sara is a good kid and her past with mental is sad and I’m glad they are bonding but I just can’t let Sara uses that a reason to call Jordan an animal now it’s not how trust or bonding works or should work
Hey glad to see you’re still around. I know what its like getting wrapped up things. Happen to me quite often at work. I would have replied sooner but I am just getting back from holiday.
The female mind is a complicated thing. But, I think where Sara is coming from is that while he is a pet he considers her a member of the family. Sort of like some people do with their dogs or cats but other pets as well.
However, Jordan being a little is prized as there are only so many littles in the world. we are talking about 7 to 13% of the world this happening too. So while it’s a large amount of people. It’s also not tons of people where life is forever altered. Most people just live normally.
So she recognizes that while he is a pet and who she loves and cares about. He does have a value that makes him more valuable (not just monetarily but generally) than most other lesser creatures.
Its an interesting thought as what you are talking about in regards to Sara calling Jordan an Animal is really a question that people have always fought over and debated.
What makes us human? As we as humans share many traits as you pointed out with animals. You could argue mental capacity in regards to things like language, art, foresight, culture, morality, etc.
However, there are animals that you can find those characteristics in. It’s not a clear-cut question of Sara is right or wrong for calling Jordan animal or lesser. As it depends on how you define what makes a person human. While you aren’t wrong if you consider Jordan human. The inverse also isn’t inherently wrong which is part of why people don’t like Sara. She and a portion of the people of her world have a view that is uncomfortable and is a stark contrast in what we as people of this world would inherently believe
How cool it would be if Charity shrunk and end up as Saras pet God that would be nice to see how she will treat her. Hope she’d controle her in a nice way and that Drive Charity made and crazy.
Sara certainly wouldn’t mind that reality happening. I don’t believe Sara would abuse or harm Charity as shes not that kind of person. However, she also wouldn’t treat her the same way she treats Jordan.
