“I just have to text my parents that I’m going directly to the school with my friends and Kelli is coming with me.” Kayla said excitedly “Kelli I really appreciate this. You are the best sister.”
“Well, it’s not like I have a choice,” Kelli said quietly. “I guess it would be nice to see a bit of the world. I don’t know how much more I can stand of Mom being such a helicopter anyway. But you need to listen. I still have the final say. Nothing has changed just because you’re a bit bigger now. I don’t want to see any delusions of grandeur.”
“Delusions of grandeur, nice.” Sara said, chuckling at the reference, “I’m parked in the lot over this way.” Sara said, pointing in the direction she had come in. While Kayla looked over at Jordan perched on Sara’s shoulder. She noticed how stable and how little her shoulder moved as she even pointed and swung her arm. All the while, Jordan didn’t seem phased at all. Nor was he ever in danger of being knocked off.
“My Wittle man did very good.” Sara said in an infantile voice. “I know meeting new people is stressful for you. You can have a few bonus points for doing so well.” Sara said while reaching her hand over and giving him a pat on the head.
“You two seem so close. It’s hard to believe it’s been just a few days. Kelli and I are still trying to figure it all out.”
“Jordy loves being my pet person. We do get along pretty well, which is nice. Oh, this was so hilarious. Ellie my best friend, before Jordy had caught Smallara dubbed him Body Hottie. So, after he caught Smallara when I found him, I thought it would be funny to call him Body Hottie to see how far he would let me take it. He let me go for days, Kayla. It was way too funny. I was messaging the girls, letting them know what was up, and they were all in on it. I even had the doctor’s office page him when he got his underbred shots as Body Hottie. I almost lost it at that point.”
“We don’t need to relive this. It’s not that funny.” Jordan said, hoping to end this before she went too deep.
“Why does Jordy have a collar?” Kelli asked, looking up at Jordan from her sister’s hand. She couldn’t help running her hand over her neck as she asked. It seemed barbaric to be collared and tagged in such a manner. If she was him, she would have ripped it off. She would never allow something so dehumanizing to happen to her.
“Did you not tell her, Kayla?” Sara whispered, but both Jordan and Kelli could easily hear what was being said.
Kayla shook her head as her cheeks reddened a bit. The change in laws occurred shortly after graduating from Guardian training. She was so busy getting Kelli and then getting her home. The family, in general, wasn’t prepared for what it truly meant to care for a little. How many things they need help with, or how much your home had to be adjusted so they could be somewhat independent.
“Didn’t tell me what? Spill it, Kay.” Kelli said as authoritatively as her voice could get with her shrunken vocal cords.
“All littles have to be collared. The laws just changed as you came out. It’s for identification purposes and stuff. We’ve been so busy since I got to take you home. I was going to tell you.” Kayla said as she looked down at her sister.
“No, no, no. You expect me to have a collar like that around my neck with a little tag on it that has your name and address on it like I’m some kind of dog or cat of yours?”
“Kelli, it’s the law. People need to know that…” Kayla said before her voice trailed off and quietly said “owned.”
1, I’m glad Kelli is still somewhat keeping her boundary, even it is just to save face.
2, kinda early to be laughing about the ‘Boddie Hottie” “prank” I’m starting to think she learnt nothing. He was getting sexually harrased by a bunch of teenagers, even a pre-teen.
3. About time he got some points, though I still have no idea how much points are worth as we don’t get a precise number.
4. Kelli’s having a fairly reasonable reaction to learning about the collaring law.
5, OK but does Kayla have her school stuff in that tiny purse?
6, “delusions of grandure” love how Kelli says that about Kayla overruling her and Sara repeats it about Kelli thinking she gets a say at all!
7, interesting to hear how Kayla and her parents are struggling with Kelli’s care. Sara does almost everything by herself but puts significantly less care into it that what I’d expect Kelli to get.
8, Kayla thanking Kelli for doing what she wants despite the obvious lack of ability to resist is kinda cruel.
9, Sara claiming Jordan “loves being her pet” is definitely a bit shit, like she conditioned him into thinking he had no better options, she’s the least of all evils not an actual winner.
1- i agree she is trying to keep what little authority she truly has.
2 – what do you mean? that was like days ago in the face moving world of teen life.
3 – point values are covered in the Maisy section of this adventure. I will be curious to hear what you think.
4 – I would agree. Thats how most people would probably react.
5 – she has her back pack with her. You can see the strap over shoulder.
6 – Sara repeated it because she thought it was funny. As its a star wars reference.
7 – I wouldn’t say significantly less but Sara does thing off camera a lot. Like you didn’t see her building jordan’s bathroom, or shopping for his outfits, buying his buggy, getting proper little food for show and then spending time curating a diet for him.
Managing all the financial aspects of being a guardian. Doing the taxes involved and getting the fees paid.
The research and time Sara spent looking for Jordans family and sister and reaching out to them.
Spraying bug killer/repllent on the door facings, windows, etc to keep as many of them out as possible. Sara does do a lot of things. Part of why she takes him with her is so that she can lesson the burden a bit.
8 – i would agree its a bit mean, but I don’t thinks she intended it to be so.
9 – I believe Sara would tell you “The least worst outcome is just a fancy way of saying number one.”
1. Definitely don’t give up a millimetre if you don’t have to.
2. It was literally less than 12hrs ago that she agreed to stop.
3. I’m cautiously optimistic.
5. Well, now I’m curious why she brought it with her (and where it manifested from. As it wasn’t in 398)
6. That’s from Star Wars? I knew it was said in Star Wars, but I’ve heard it just in everyday conversations all my life
7. Most of those things were the bare minimum, some were more for her than him and the rest were to manipulate him.
8. Neither do I, but sometimes that’s the worst kind of mean.
9. Well then she’s completely missing the point of the expression. Which is pretty on brand for her.
I’m starting to like Kelli more and more.
Yeah she is easily ranking up high in my favorite character’s real fast honesty
Me too, right now I think she may have second best living conditions of a little we’ve seen.
What are the updated rankings?
1, Lisa.
Pros. Lisa has a respectable job despite her size, was shown the most respect by big people (especially Sara) that we’ve seen throughout the series,
Cons. There are also no known downsides to being Lisa.
2, Kelli.
Pros. Kelli was taken in by her sister but still seems to be under a caring roof with a family that still loves and cares for her, her guardian is the only known guardian that has adults keeping a close eye on her to make sure she’s taking care of her little properly.
Cons. Kelli and Kayla’s personalities are often incompatible and their interests don’t align, most of her friends don’t contact her any more and Kayla is easily influenced by people she considers “cool”.
3, Gavin.
Pros. Gavin was taken in by his loving and affectionate girlfriend (Mallory) a relationship he chose and seems to want to maintain, even if he’s faltered that in the past.
Cons. Gavin is often unintenally overspoken by Mal, who frequently cuts off his sentences trying to finish then for him, usually ending them with what she wants to hear, he’s been isolated from some but not all of his friends and now does remedial classes at school, his worst aspect is the decision to make Mal his guardian was decided between Mal and his mother, behind his back without consulting him.
4. Jordan.
Pros Jordan is living under his young neighbour’s care, she makes sure his needs are met to the best of her ability and is relegated to a low role in the family, Sara also wants what she believes is best for him. Sara has proven on multiple occasions that she can and will put in effort for Jordan’s benefit and well being.
Cons. Jordan is frequently denied basic wants and needs, has been intimidated into submitting on multiple occasions, threat of violence and other “discipline” looms over his every decision, and there is no way for him to hold Sara accountable when she messes up, (which is often), while “allowed” to speak his grievances they are rarely listened to and his guardian on multiple occasions has allowed him to be bullied only interfering when her girlfriend was watching and once when she had previous personal issues with the bully. he’s also constantly manipulated and tricked as well as humiliated and belittled such as getting called “body hottie” for his first four days in Sara’s care. Forced to accept the title of “pet”.
5. Bryce.
Pros. Bryce is fed and sheltered aswell as able to pursue his passion for teaching
Cons. Was gifted to a former student of his who he didn’t have a good relationship with for revenge as a present from this student’s brother, he’s kept in a cage ant treated like a slave often having to serve Mia in various ways, such as painting her toenails, the money he earns from teaching goes exclusively to Mia.
6, Tucker.
Pros. Tucker was free and sheltered
Cons. Tucker was living in his apparetment like a borrower, constantly savaging food and struggling to survive, at one point starving to the point of taking bigger risks and passing out before he was found by his apparent new Tennant, fate unknown.
7. Christine.
Pros. Saddie achieves the minimum of feeding, bathing and sheltering her.
Cons. Christine is enslaved by her daughter and forced to do degrading tasks such as lick her shoes in public
8. Desmond.
Pros. Desmond is the most free of anyone on this list
Cons. Desmond is the least cared for of anyone on this list, he is also homeless, starved and dehydrated.
Honourable mention. Charity Stevens. She isn’t on this list because she isn’t shrunk yet, but if I was counting bre shrunken she’d be at the top.
Bare in mind this list only contains littles who have made physical appearances in the franchise so mentioned littles such as Tamara’s father, Nicole’s sister or Jordan and Alison’s parents aren’t counted.
That’s my list, now let’s see everyone else’s. Or just give your opinion on mine please.
That a very good list I give it a 10/10 honestly
For me it’s
1 – Jordan
2 – Chloe
3 – Gavin
4 – Kelli
5 – Bryce
6 – Sara
7 – Mallory
8 – Sara’s Dad ( sorry couldn’t remember his name)
9 – Sara’s Mom ( again sorry couldn’t remember her name either 😔)
10 – Kayla
To be clear, this isn’t a list of my favourite characters, its all the littles arranged from best life to worst since shrinking. A refresher from a list I discussed with Asukafan2001 previously.
Though I do appreciate that you made a list even if it’s not the sane criteria as mine.
Sara’s mother is Tiffany Reeves and her father hasn’t been name dropped which is why I call him “Who’s-Her-Daddy” I am literally asking “Who is her father?”
Lisa is surprising at number 1 but your reasoning make sense. She is cared for by the hospital itself. So she probably would be in the best situation. But the ambiguity of her situation could make it be not great.
Kelli, would have been my number one pick. As she gets to be with her family still. While it won’t be perfect as you pointed out. It’s probably the best situation.
I would swap Gavin and Jordan. As I think Jordan’s situation is better than Gavin’s.
The rest of your rankings I would pretty much agree with.
I was only going on what’s actually been shown, I do have theories and thoughts that could shift and move certain rankings but I only wanted to go with what I’m certain actually happened to them, and I’m sure you have BTS info that I don’t so it makes sense that our lists wouldn’t be identical.
She’s a fun character. A bit of time went into crafting her character.
Okay you know I really like this chapter a lot for a few things mostly the first being I like that Kelli and Kayla’s relationship doesn’t seem to be going Kayla has the final say in everything and still treats Kelli as her sister rather than a pet-like Sara continues to tell Jordan is now which in some ways I’ll say she right but wrong for call Kelli a pet out of the blue. Second I did like that Kelli’s reaction to the whole collar situation was a very reasonble reaction. Third I do like how Sara was a good example of how to handle a little for Kayla and although I don’t agree with everything that Sara says and does sometimes…. Okay, most times but I will give credit for how she handles Jordan better than Kayla. Overall a good chapter
I don’t think anyone but Sara agrees with everything Sara does. I’m so glad you liked the chapter you bring up many good points.
Its nice to show and feature other guardians and there relationship from time to time.
Kelli is kind of finding out everything as she goes because of being in the facility. So its interesting to see her reactions to things.
Speaking to her whittle baby pet in that infantile voice Sara is amazing love that sooooooooooooo much when she speaks down to him. If he miss behaves or is disobedient will those points be taken away from him?
