“So, I put the maze together last night. I figured we could time Body Hottie today and then I have a friend with a hamster I can time separately.” Maisy said as her sister introduced herself to Sara quickly before running off to get a ride with her father.
“Oh, you can call him Jordy. I was messing with him the other day when I introduced him as Body Hottie.” Sara said with a laugh. “That still gets me,” Sara said, continuing to laugh at her own Gag.
“You are so bad. I always thought you were a bit of goody-goody. But after being your lab partner this semester, I see you’re deceptively a bit of a baddie.” Maisy said
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, Maisy,” Sara said, I’m a good girl. She said with a smile.
“You can barely say that and keep it together. You have been thriving lately ever since you stopped hanging out with Caitlyn.” Maisy said with a laugh as she gave Sara a playful shove.
“I’m a saint. I don’t know what you’re talking about. But that sounds like a good plan. So, I looked over the project requirements. We should make sure to get Jordy’s measurements, height, weight, and all that.”
“You can come over here, little guy,” Maisy said in a sweet voice, but Jordan couldn’t exactly bring himself to trust her after prior experiences with her. He found himself inching backwards closer to Sara. He wasn’t even consciously doing it. It wasn’t until he couldn’t step any further back that he became aware of just how far back he had gone. Sara’s shadow blanketed him as he looked over at Maisy.
“I think he’s scared of you. He hasn’t been around many people outside my friends Chloe, Ellie and Steph.” Sara said as she looked down at Jordan.
“Really? That wild. I’ve never had a guy scared of me. I’m not all that big. Normally, they can lift me and throw me around like I’m a sack of potatoes.” Maisy said, looking over at Jordan before extending her arm out towards Jordan.
“What are you doing? Are you inviting him to smell you like he’s a cat or dog?” Sara said, losing it, as she started laughing.
“Well, I don’t know how to get him to trust me. It works with other animals.” Maisy said, laughing herself over the absurdity of the situation.
“Is my whitto man scared of Maisy? A little stranger danger?” Sara said as she lifted Jordan up and gave him a hug. Jordan found himself pressed into her blazer as Sara hugged him, lifted him up, and gave him a quick kiss before setting him back down on the table. “I just need you to be brave right now. I’m right here. So just walk over to Maisy. I promise not to leave so nothing will happen to you.” Sara said, giving Jordan words of encouragement.
Jordan looked over at Sara, hating that he honestly felt a bit better. He didn’t like his reliance and the growing security he felt around Sara. He certainly didn’t like that Maisy was trying to appeal to him like he was some kind of dog. The whole thing was against Jordan’s better judgment. He hadn’t forgotten Maisy’s antics from the other day. The idea that someone like her could be immune, yet he wasn’t, seemed unfair.
“Who’s a good boy? Is Jordy being a good boy?” Maisy said in a cutesy voice, like she was talking to a dog or some other small animal.

This would be a good time for him to start being firm, telling g Maisy she needs to apologise for her past bullshit and that she has to call him “Jordan” not “Jordy” and if she doesn’t he’ll rescind his consent for being their projects subject. It’d let Maisy know she needs to show Jordan respect, and is Sara objects (which she would) he can remind her that she’d promised to do that.

1) The section isn’t done. There is still time for things to happen. I feel like this section will have some good responses from you.
2) She could appear later. However, her part in this particular part of the story is strictly manual labor. I couldn’t find a way to illustrate convincingly Maisy carrying that big thing in by herself and canonically, Sara is already in the library so I used a character from Maisy’s backstory.
3) I could never see Jordan being that assertive. He is way too introverted and shy. But shame on Sara for not being more firm here.
4) Hmmm maybe. I never thought of senses beyond touch being altered. Hmm, I kind of like the idea though. I’d have to give it some thought. But I feel like off the cuff it would be something along the lines of because nature took away their height they have better X. That’s some food for thought.

1) I know, but it really should have been the first thing after greetings, not laughing about how she sexually harrased him, or Maisy disrespecting further by trying to get him to smell her.
2) I see, i often skip the image and focus mostly on the text, but I can see that she’s needed to move it. Kinda odd a young one doesn’t at least react to seeing a little though.
3) neither could I, but he could also just remind Sara that she needs to “lay down some expectations with Maisy” or something, give her the ultimatum of “make her understand or I’m out” as he is a getting a bit bolder with Sara.
4) the obvious one to me is them hearing different frequencies given the change in their ear size. this could also help them balance better, similar idea with seeing and light wavelengths.
