Madison walked home deep in thought as her eyes averted down to her purse every now and then. She finally opened her purse back up seeing her parents sitting in her purse was still surreal. There tiny faces looking up at her from inside her purse.
“Um, hey… sorry,” Madison mumbled, fidgeting with her hair. “I know you didn’t exactly sign up for this or whatever. And I get it, you’re probably pretty ticked off about not being in on the decision. But seriously, I’m trying here. I mean, I’ve always wanted a pet, you know? I just figured I’d pick one out from the store, like, Little Mart or something. Anyway, I’ll make it up to you, promise.” Madison’s voice trailed off as she approached the house, her apology hanging in the air.
“Honey, we know this is hard on all of us. We have alot of new Normal’s to work through.” Greg and Cindy said. “We’re still your parents though and we still love you. We care about you. But…
“Ugh, fine, I love you guys too,” Madison conceded, her tone tinged with a hint of annoyance. “But seriously, it’s like, so hard to process you being und-littles. Like, I’m trying to wrap my head around it, but it’s just… weird, you know? It’s not like I asked for the good genes and you got stuck with the homo parvus ones. Anyway, I guess I’ll let you out when we get home. And yeah, I grabbed a stupid water bowl and stuff from the store last night. So, like, enjoy or whatever when you’re not in your little… home.” Madison’s words dripped with arrogance and self-centeredness, but there was still a glimmer of affection buried beneath her attitude.
“our home? Do you mean the habitat?” Greg and Cindy looking at each other.
“Yep, that’s like your little home now,” Madison declared, her tone a mix of authority and nonchalance. “McKenzie and I will, like, totally fix it up and make it comfy for you. But yeah, you’re officially littles now. It’s just way too risky for you to be free-roaming out there. I mean, seriously, a single mosquito could probably suck out more blood than you have. And don’t even get me started on all the poisonous bugs and stuff out there. But hey, don’t worry. McKenzie and I will still, like, take you out and stuff sometimes.” With a shrug, Madison continued up the driveway toward her doorstep, her words carrying a mix of concern and indifference.
Madison pushed the front door open kicking her shoes off by the door like she always did. She was about to yell to her mother to let her know she was home but soon remembered that was no longer necessary.
“Mads is that you?” McKenzie said walking out the kitchen with a bottle of water. “Where’s mom and dad?” McKenzie asked as she looked at Madison seeing her hand empty.
“Yeah, there just in here.” Madison said giving her purse a shake.
“MADISON! You can just shake your purse like that.” McKenzie said walking over to Madison Who pulled them out of her purse with both of them in her open hand.
“Oh my goodness, are you guys okay? McKenzie said grabbing both her parents and giving them a hug.
Both Greg and Cindy found themselves immobolized by McKenzie’s grip as she hugged them into her chest with her hand. It wasn’t until she pulled her hand away from her chest that tehy were able to breath normally.
“Are you guys, okay? Don’t worry everything is going to be fine. I see Madison already got you a habitat. It looks like its one of the nicer heated ones. I know the air temperature out here can be a bit much for you. You both stink like old milk.” McKenzie said looking up at Madison.
“What? Its only normal for them eat our leftovers. They eat so little food. They will just have to accept it as a fact of life. I got them little Pellets but wanted to wait to ease them into it” Madison said to her sister.
“Okay, fine, but you don’t need to drop them and bathe them in your nasty leftover milk. Let’s get those clothes off of you.” McKenzie said walking into kitchen setting both her parents down on the counter.
“well if they did what I say I wouldn’t have to.” Mumbled Madison under her breath.
“What?” McKenzie said looking back at her sister. “Did you say something?” Mckenzie asked inquistively.
“No, nothing.” Madison kicking off her shoes and dropping them in front of the door as she always did.
“No wait” Greg managed to say before McKenzie pulled his sweater and pants off of his body as if he were a doll.
“Don’t worry Dad. These clothes are ruined though. They are so soaked with milk and then festered in it.” Mckenzie said walking over to the garbage can and dropping them inside leaving her father in just his boxers. “Madison get the clothes off mom already. Don’t just stand there.” McKenzie said taking charge .
“What? I’m not the hired help around here.” Madison said looking at her mother.
“Madison” McKenzie said sternly with a glare
“Ugh, fine. I don’t see why you get to be in charge.” Madison mumbled as Cindy started backing away.
“Because I’m older. Just because I was at camp for a few weeks nothing changed. You’re still a little squirt, and always going to be a little squirt. So quit being such a brat.” McKenzie said to sister.
“Fiinne.” Madison said in an annoyed but defeated tone. “
“I can take these off myself dear.” Cindy said
“You heard Kenzie.” Madison said, grabbing her mother and pulling off her sweater and pants off leaving her just in her undergarments. Cindy could only watch helplessly as she Madison threw her clothes in the garbage like she had seen McKenzie do with her father’s clothes just moments earlier.
“Girls,” Cindy tried to say as she shivered a bit.
“I know you’re cold mom but you couldn’t stay in those clothes. The water is luke warm now. Madison Remember we can’t put them under cold or hot water. As even luke warm will be hot to them. Take your boxers off Dad, please.” McKenzie said as she checked the water one last time.
“Sweetheart, I love how serious you’re taking this. But-”Greg managed to say before McKenzie cut him off.
“Dad, either you can take them off or I can take them off for you. You were covered in milk and it soured. We have little worker coming. Now I’m not going to tell you again.” McKenzie said sweetly but sternly as she looked down at her father with a glare that would have made her mother proud with how quickly Greg moved into action. Madison smirked enjoying seeing their parents forced to deal with McKenzie’s wrath for change. It was nice seeing them being pushed around by her for a change.
“Yes sweetheart.” Greg said. Normally his daughter’s glare didn’t bother him but at this new reduced size he felt like a child again with his own mother staring down at him. As he slid out of his boxers.
“Thats better,” McKenzie said taking the boxers from her father and setting them down on the counter before taking some dish soap and squirting it over her father. She gently rubbed the soap into his skin working up lather. While from Greg’s persepctive he could feel McKenzie massage the warmth into his skin.
As the soap lathered up he could do nothing to stop McKenzie as she moved him underneath faucet as the water gently fell on him. She continued to clean him for several moments before pulling him away from the faucet and looking at Madison.
“Do you remember the technique, or do you need me to show you? I Know you were still young, and three years is a long time.” McKenzie said.
“I can do it. I took the guardian test last year when I turned thirteen as I took the class underage remember. I’m only a year out of practice unlike you” Madison said
“I’ve seen your grades. Just because you took a class doesn’t mean you learned anything. I’m still mad that Sara girl beat me out of the top spot.”McKenzie said with huff as her blood slightly boiled thinking about it.
“I get good grades when I want. You know how much I’ve been asking for a little. I really thought I was going to get one for christmas this year too.” Madison said
“Then go ahead and wash mom once she takes her underwear off. We don’t want those getting wet. Don’t worry guys. We’re going to take good care of you.” McKenzie said as she set her father down on the kitchen counter after drying him off with a paper towel. “Go ahead and put your boxers back on dad. I got to use bathroom. I’ll be right back.” McKenzie said before walking out of the kitchen.
“You heard her, or do you need my help my mom?” Madison said with a smirk as she looked down at her mother.
“I’m more than capable of doing this myself. If you just set me down in the sink I can wash myself dear.” Cindy said as she took her bra and panties off.
“Sorry mom, it’s by the book. You heard McKenzie.” Madison said.
“And I’m your mother. Just put me in the sink dear.” Cindy said
“Mom, you heard what McKenzie said.” Madison said as her mother looked up at her daughter with a deer in headlights look as Madison grabbed her underwear and set it down on the counter before holding her over the sink with one hand and grabing the bottle of dish soap with the other.
“Madison, do as you are told. We just talked about this on the way in. We’re still your parents.” Cindy said as soap poured down on her. She could do nothing as Madison gently lathered the soap into her body cleaning herself. She could hear the water running behind her as Madison continued to gently work her fingers over Cindy’s body. She could feel her muscles relax as Madison cleaned her. A few moments later she found herself underneath the facet as water washed the soap away.
“And you heard Kenzie” Madison said to her mother. “or were your ears not working?” Madison quipped not understanding what her mother didn’t understand.
We are finally at the “light at the end of the tunnel” aka McKenzie. I truly was debating dropping series before learning about McKenzie. Just needed to tolerate Madison until we got to meet her.
Madison herself is finally “waking up” from her ego trip. It was a nice moment where the two declared they still love their daughter despite her actions.
McKenzie herself has definitely assumed the mom role very well. She seems to handle Maddy very well. Quite responsible. Thinking to prepare a bath despite just arriving home AND not asking for gratitude for doing it.
Though it makes you wonder how Madison would treat her sister if she shrunk. It is conserning how quickly Madison defaulted to belittling her parents.
Based on those bios, I think madison would be very mom like to Makenzie had she also shrank. Still bratty probably, but not nearly as bad as she is with her parents
Maybe? She was nicer to Grey. Mom was more stern and it seems McKenzie took after her mother more.
The bio did state she idolize her sister though I can’t help but imagine she love rubbing her newfound authority over her.
Probably true about rubbing in the authority thing lol still, I think with her sister basically losing all of her life long prospects and dreams vs her parents losing what they currently have would probably resonate with Madison a lot more. I might be giving her too much credit, but madison from this story, despite her current teenage attitude, does care for her family, probably just a lot of resentment of no one taking her seriously or believing in her
Madison is very much a daddy’s girl. Which does factor into her attitude towards her parents. Not that she hasn’t been a brat to her dad at times. But she also treats him a bit better.
Cindy was home with Madison more so they obviously have more conflicts over the years. So their is more opportunities for Madison to pull from where she felt slighted compared to her father.
McKenzie is older and more responsible then Madison is. Madison does adore her sister so that would factor in a lot in their behavior if McKenzie was shrunk.
Sounds like McKenzie was what you were hoping for. I was wondering if your wait would be worthwhile.
Madison is coming around a bit. Shes stating her feelings.
McKenzie definitely is taking charge. She has been handling Madison for 14 years now. So shes quite used to it.
She is more responsible then Madison by far.
well Madison would most certainly treat McKenzie different. She doesn’t even treat both parents same.
Yeah. Your reassurances about McKenzie helped convinced me to stay on. I truly was worried this series would degrade into a serious cruel/unusual punishments or tasks.
I don’t like seeing an one-side fight, the brief moments of the parents fighting back also helped in the waiting.
That’s good. I wouldn’t say theres much cruel or unusual punishments or tasksin general. Most things asked are pretty reasonable. Even sara hasn’t asked Jordan do anything cruel or unusual. she asked him to wash the baseboard in the kitchen. which is far from cruel.
I’m glad you stuck with this.
Makenzie seems really cool. Way more level headed and thoughtful than the other gaurdians. Madison is, oddly enough, the first guardian to actually talk honestly about her feelings and situation with her Littles vs sarah revealing little to anything to jordan piece by piece despite him being her “emotional support little”. Still have hope for Kayla and Kelli in that regard since it’s a really similar situation. I’m really curious about how that’ll work cause there’s clearly a lot more going on there than we’ve seen in smallara
Also, does this imply Makenzie is #2 in the rankings overall, or was she just #2 in the same class as Sarah?
I would agree with your assessment she is probably more level headed then the others. She is more responsible. Analyzes the situation and makes a decision more quickly and then the other guardians.
Madison doesn’t filter her thoughts nearly as much as Sara and the others that’s for sure. Madison will let you know what she thinks.
McKenzie finished second in the class but she a overall guardian rank of 23rd. So she still did well but not Sara well. Sara is the gold standard.
23rd overall but 2nd in her class behind sarah?! That’s wild haha have we seen anyone else in the top 30 or the top 15 other than sarah?
1) oh my goodness, Kenzie is great, she definitely lived up to my hope, her fourth real appearance and she’s telling Maddie off.
2) was Madison wearing two pairs of shoes? Cause you mentioned her taking them off twice.
3) love how Maddie was being a bit better at the start, trying to be apologetic and reassuring towards them.
4) these two were way too prepared to see their parents naked, like no reation or hesitation.
5) Is dishsoap ok for littles? I know it’s a bit rougher in the skin than hand soap, and had assumed that would worsen for littles.
6) the milk didn’t have nearly the return I thought it would, lol.
7) love that McKenzie’s first act is to hug her parents, immediately showing she’s more affectionate and loving than her sister
8) so happy to see Madison getting put in her place by someone.
9) It’s odd knowing they were trained years ago but still mostly non rusty, Even Sara was only a few months separated from her training.
1) I’m glad you enjoyed McKenzie. I know people had built it up, so I hoped it would deliver.
2)No just one. She moved them when she got home becuase of McKenzie.
3)She has her moments
5)dawn dish soap is used to save wild life animals in oil spills and stuff. I cant imagine it would do any harm to a little.
4) Well its not full sized parents. its little parents so its not even these same thing. They probably didn’t even make a mental connection about it because of the size difference and how they were raised.
6) what were you hoping? It’s not like its days old or anything. it just hours.
7) It seemed natural reaction. McKenzie is a more emotive person then madison.
8)McKenzie is not afraid to let Madison know where she stands.
9) Well they were all trained but they retain knowledge differently. Madison and McKenzie were probably more likely to want a little then their parents. So they would retain it better and keep the knowledge at the forefront more likely as they want to use it.
1) yep, I’m hoping she goes further, but this was a great start.
2) both times mention “kicking off her shoes and dropping them in front of the door as she always did” indicating that they start on her feet, and nothing special about McKenzie’s presence.
3) I think those are my favourite times with her.
4) I don’t think I could separate, parents into “pre shrunk” and “post shrunk”, lol. But it makes sense culture in this work wouldn’t be the same.
I’d love to see moments of the two connecting those dots.
Like a quiet evening McKenzie’s giving her mother a pet/massage, and starts focusing on her torso, gently running her index finger around her belly button over and over, Cindy can see the micro-expressions on Kenzie’s face caused by her deepening thoughts before asking, “penny for your thoughts, sweetie?”. McKenzie stutters, trying to verbalise her introspection, “I was IN that belly” she manages to say, finding it harder to believe than ever before. “Yes sweetie, yes you were” Cindy responds.
5) fair enough, but, littles aren’t nearly as strong as wild animals 😜. I was probably just underestimating them.
6) I was hoping it’d be the little worker who noticed it, then Maddie could be put through some real consequences, or atleast put on a “guardians to watch list” that I’m assuming would be out there.
7) goodies, one more reason she’s my favourite Wessen.
8) the response to thos one, is same as 7.
9) ok, still it’d be nifty if they needed a refresher course, due to the separation between getting taught and owning a little, even if it wasn’t mandatory just “strongly advised”
4) well Madison is canoncially 14. So shes basically dealt with littles as a lesser species the entirety of her existence on this planet. So being able to seperate littles form people would be dramatically easier then you would. As you’ve never seen a tiny person and she’s never known a time when tiny people weren’t a thing.
So I noticed they didn’t take off the collars. Are they truly water-proof? Seems dangerous for a collar that can choke you to get water damage.
Is it that hard to remove it and put it back on? Are there no options to replace the collars?
I can think of a dozen ways how these collars could directly or indirectly kill a Little. It is a mystery how these were approved.
Collars aren’t removable by law, it’s explained in detail in Smallara proper, but they basically weld together end to end around the neck, so removing them for a bath isn’t gonna happen. I’m also assuming they’re waterproof like Jordan’s collar, though they seem much cheaper than his so idkfs.
It’s physically impossible fir a little to remove their own collar by design. But a human could get it off with a gentle pull.
Collar replacement is an option, Greg and Cindy (and i think Bryce) are wearing “training collars” so they’re just until the get use to collars before upgrading to a more expensive, permanent collar. But you wouldn’t get people switching collars to match their littles outfit or anything as trivial as that.
So can I, starting with their Newfound inability to cry for help.
Strange. I thought it was only required to wear them when outside or in public. Most Guardians are too lazy or apathetic to remove them was what I thought.
I Still worried these collars could malfunction and glitche out. Spontaneous choking!
I am a bit optimistic. A defining characteristic of a human is to use tools. A clever and resourceful Little I bet could remove their collar.
Supposedly these collars can knock them out if tampered with? Sounds great! Littles with insomnia will love these collars. Oh but they would slowly get immune to it? Eh….just makes it easier to remove them. I wonder if repeatedly knocking them out could put them in a coma? Yikes. These collars are more dangerous the more I think about them.
Nope, 24/7 Jordan also wanted his removed while at home, but no dice.
Definitely an option, especially case it was stated that Madison could trigger it from her phone. I wanna know how the collars distinguish between noises made by the littles vs noises made around the little.
Possibly, buy the collar also triggers when it’s tampered with, so trying to remove it, even with tools, could prove difficult.
Jordan has a fancy collar that has a frequency that puts littles to sleep. But only if cut. I doubt these collars have that. The frequency could probably be recorded by someone, made into some white noise machine for insomniac littles, lol.
I don’t think effects could get worse, or any resistance/immunity could be built up against them
Permanent sleep collars then. My dad would love one. My family are full of insomniacs .
I wonder if they would make normal size ones. They would make a killing.
Littles have an vocal range of sound they can produce. the collar is around their neck so it also detects the vibrations of host little. Chipped littles, which is required can also have the chip interface with the collar for even greater synergy.
Lethal is correct; littles are required to be collared at all times. Little collars are breathable, so they don’t cause irritation. Like traditional collars in our world do.
This is because specifically of the tracking capabilities. A little lost in the world/wild is at risk. So they want to be able to protect the little from a potential loss of life situation and to also reunite them with the guardian.
Depending on the cost of the collar it may or may not be possible for a little tamper with it and remove it. Like jordan’s collar. Has generitech patented technology where if you tamper with the collar, or try to remove it or puncture it. It emits a sound that puts littles to sleep.
They can’t become immune to it as its the little natural bodily function that puts them to sleep when the sound is heard. Its just a genetic. Similar to that of tonic immobility some sharks have when you put them upside down.
It doesn’t put them into a coma it reduces the heart rate and decreases breathing putting them into a sleep like state. The little can be woken up though as its not any different then a nap or sleeping at night.
nailed it. 100%accurate
The collars are waterproof and even if they constricted because of a malfunction its impossible for them to constrict enough to kill someone. It just restricts airflow it doesn’t cut off airflow. It was specifically designed to be non-lethal.
It’s impossible for a little to remove the collar. All collars designed with Generitech’s patented little proof technology.
the more expensive the collar the more advanced the little proofing is. This is less advanced then jordans but a little wouldn’t be able to remove it through regular means.
I can think of a dozen ways a basic dog collar could kill any animal. Dangers aren’t unique to this world. The only way a little would ever die specifically from this collar is if a little was doing something they weren’t supposed to be doing, which even then it’s not the collar. Its outside factors that are killing the little. The only other way is through negligence of little and negligence of the guardian. Which is not the fault of the collar. Its the fault of the wearer and the fault of the guardian.
A guardian could be cleaning and knock the habitat off a stand, breaking the glass and impales the little. A guardian could slip and fall towards the habitat and break their trachea. It’s not as if we are going to remove all aquariums, terrariums, and habitats from people’s homes.
Life by the sheer nature of it comes with risks. Even the most benign of tasks can pose risk.
There is nothing wrong with not liking collars. It’s meant to be dehumanizing so its understandable. But, its not inherently any risker then anything.
Basic dog collars don’t have a feature to choke the dog.
List of possible accidental deaths.
Little yells out while eating. Collar chokes them with the food being crushed in their throat.
Little swims around and the collar accidentally gets stab. Little drowns via knocked unconscious.
Little falls and the collar catches itself midfall leaving them dangling in the air. As the collar is “unbreakable”, their neck snaps or die via a slow asphyxia. VERY SLOW.
Little doing any serious exercise/sport and forgets about the feature. How many people get excited and lose themselves in the moment? They yell out and cause serious harm. They fall, drop something or etc.
I suppose you could call these “outside forces” that killed them but the collar raises the risk for even the most mundane activities like eating!
Then there the leases which pose a bigger risk. A harness is a much better option.
1) A person or little also shouldn’t talking our screaming with their mouth full of food. That’s just basic manners. If that’s how they were raised, they probably had the death coming. /s
Im not sure i understand this one. But if you are stabbed while swimming. Thats not really the collars fault. That would be anyone.
The collar isn’t unbreakable. the little just can’t generate enough force to remove it. If they fell and hung themselves the collar could still break the force of the fall. As lethal has side prior a guardian can remove it by applying gentle pressure. Also a regular collar on any animal would have this same risk. It would actually be harder with the little as the collar is flush against the neck. You can’t even get anything between the neck and the collar. So it would be harder. Dog collars and cat collars are much more loose.
They would have to yell loud enough to activate the collar as even in the story both greg and cindy have yelled and the collar hasn’t activated. I’ve worked out for years though and never once yelled out at the top of my lungs. But i could be doing it wrong as I’m also not the most fit person in the world.
There are so many hypothetical ways that people can die or get hurt.
Sometimes you forget and laugh out loud while eating. Choking on food get compounded with the collar.
Swimming while stab was a poor example. The idea being the Little swam into something sharp that triggers the Sleep inducing sounds.
So the collar isn’t unbreakable? Well at least he can’t become a suicide collar via hanging….probably. Though a Resourceful Little could find a way to generate the necessary force to remove it. You really can’t underestimate human ingenuity. You did just confirm a crazy/brave Little could remove it by dropping down and hanging themselves at the cost almost killing themselves.
In the end, I don’t think we will ever agree on the collar thing. Especially since a belt would be a better alternative in almost every way. Sadly it is clear the collar idea is here to stay.
A laugh though wouldn’t be enough to trigger it. I think you are overthinking this a bit.
As they have made louder noises then a typical laugh canonically without the collar even activating. THey have shouted and it hasn’t activated. Its moreso when they are yelling.
But you are probably right that we won’t agree. A belt wouldn’t work because its not contacting the skin unless they keep all littles naked Plus collars are already how lesser species are identified.
As you are coming form the viewpoint these littles are equal. However, you have to remember hte governemnt has ruled they are not. So they have no reason to reinvent the wheel.
See….. being small has it’s perks. LOL Maddie could have been rough but she was gentle. A sliver of caring.
