A little late, but here it is. I actually have about 5000 words of a different version of this one. Anyway, I mainly wanted to say I’m going to take a couple of weeks off. One week to just actually mentally relax and then one week to create a bit of Smallara-related content as work had gotten hectic and I’ve gotten behind on content. So, the next episode of Smallara will be Monday, June 23rd. Also, as a future heads up, July 4th and 5th won’t have postings due to Independence Day in the US.
~~~~~~~~~
Scott had never been purchased before. It was very much a new experience for him. It was odd sitting on display on a Preema Tech shelf. After he had gotten infected with Smallara, he was taken to a facility and registered. It was beyond the means of his family to help him or get training. He didn’t blame them, though, as he put himself in that situation. He could have been a better student and applied himself. It was not that it would have mattered being vulnerable. Still, had he applied himself and spent the past 10 or 11 years since high school actually bettering himself. Maybe he could have been in a better situation. Not just living at home.
His family ended up taking him to the hospital, where he was then sent to a facility. However, unlike most people, his group wasn’t sent to a Generitech facility. Preema Tech had won the bid for his group. No one in his group knew until they arrived at the Preema Tech facility.
Scott immediately groaned, cursing his luck. Preema Tech was the Walmart of the tech world. Where everything they did was always in an attempt to keep prices down. It was all about margins and profit. He spent a year at a Preema Tech facility getting groomed before he was shoved onto a shelf.
Scott had heard about Generitech training. All the littles had. Most every little at Preema Tech wished they had been sent to a Generitech facility. Everything they were taught and groomed to do was in service to their future owners. Preema Tech viewed him and people like him as a product. A number on the sheet of their Profit and Loss report.
Each day, he spent hours going through training. The first few days were exhausting. While not as physical in nature, he recognized similar mental tactics to those used in Marine training, where the person is broken down mentally and then built back up to be a model weapon. Only for littles like him; it wasn’t so much being made into some kind of super soldier. It was all about being crafted into a role that existed to serve a person.
Scott hated this training. He would leave tired, but it was difficult at first to accept that when they spoke of people, humans, and persons, they were not referring to him. They were referring to immune people who were like him. He was always referred to as an Underbred or a Little.
This training went on for days, weeks, and months. Scott lost track of time as he had no real way to keep track of time. After a while, he found himself forgetting to mentally count the days he had been there until it just didn’t matter. He would sleep, eat, and then go through the Preema Tech Education program so that he could graduate to the store floor.
Having heard about the Generitech training that provided skills to littles and helped them succeed in this new world. This training was appalling. It wasn’t about helping the little like him. It was about selling likes him and no one wanted to buy a Little who wasn’t trained and obedient.
There were always those people who wanted to rebel against the system or those who wanted to just roll over and give up on life. Scott watched what happened to those Littles. They were removed from the program, converted into internal workers, and not seen again. The rumors were that if they were lucky, Preema Tech used them as internal workers for janitorial work. The unlucky ones were research or test subjects for overseas testing and research where things were less regulated. Eventually, getting their wish after every ounce of profit has been extracted from them. Nutrients were injected into the littles, prolonging and controlling the awaited death. As even something like death was only on Preema Tech time.
Preema Tech knew what it was doing but did not care. The only rules it followed were the law. Ethics were not a consideration. It was solely what is legal. Morals were left at the door. Hearing how different the treatment was for Generitech Littles made Scott and the others at Preema Tech quite jealous. While he was sure, they had their negatives. The overall treatment and level of equality and care were miles ahead of what was available here. At Preema Tech, there was no Queen of the Littles looking out for them.
Taking it all in, the only way to escape the system at Preema Tech was to be purchased. As bad as Preem Tech was in Scott’s mind, a part of him appreciated what they were doing, even if it was for their own gain. Generitech invests alot into their Littles and that investment needs a return. It prices alot of people out of the ability to have one. Preema Tech is substantially cheaper, providing littles to people and sectors that wouldn’t usually have access to them. However, Preema Tech was much more popular overseas in countries with less regulation than the U.S. and its allies.
Most of the training and storing of Littles is all done overseas where they can utilize methods and do testing that would be much more regulated in places like the United States.
As much as Scott hated the Preema Tech training program, it was his only avenue to escape this world at this point. So, he applied himself to training. After a little over a year, Scott was chosen to be shipped back to the United States. While he had no say in the matter, Scott felt a bit of relief that he was at least being sent back to America. His greatest fear was getting sent somewhere he didn’t speak the language.
The next few weeks were boring and arduous for Scott as he was shipped back from the overseas training facility along with several Littles from third world countries to a Preema Tech store in America. Scott tried to pinpoint where he was but other than it was sunny and warm he had no real idea.
~~~~~~~~~~~
The day was long, as the air in the store was generally still. Scott had been placed into the glass cage on an interior wall in the store. It had the advantage of not being in the hot sun all day, but it also meant he didn’t have much to look at. The shelf he was on was filled with small one-person cages from top to bottom.
Each morning, he would see one of the same two female clerks come down the row and drop in food and refill the water. They never spoke to him, only ever to each other. It made for a lonely. It got to be so typical when Scott heard the familiar door chime sound he disregarded it at first.
“I thought we were getting a generitech little,” a young voice said. Scott watched the young woman walk into the store, looking very much out of place compared to the normal customers.
“I thought you wanted to rescue one of these things? The ones here probably need a home more than the generitech littles.” The young-looking man said.
The young woman walked up and down several aisles before pausing at Scott’s cage. He wasn’t sure what drew her to him, but she stared at him for a long time.
Several moments passed before the young man asked. “Is this one the one? Are you sure you wouldn’t want one of the more muscular-looking ones up front?” The man asked before looking into the cage of Scott. “I mean sorry, no offense dude.” The young man corrected.
“Baaby look at him. He looks like he could use a good home. You want to come with me, don’t you?” She asked, looking in at him through the glass walls of the cage. Scott already knew from experience he couldn’t speak loud enough to be heard. He was a bit skeptical on the guy, but the woman seemed nice enough. He nodded, mostly just wanting to get out of this Preema Tech hellscape. If he had to eat another knock off generitech pellet he was going to puke. They were like eating sandpaper mixed with sand. They may provide all the nutrients he needed, but they were the furthest thing from tasty one could imagine.
“Look he is nodding away. I think he’s the one. Just look at the little guy.” She said looking at the young man with doe eyes before turning back towards Scott and smiled at him as the young man left to fetch clerk.
As the young man returned with the clerk who unlocked the glass cage and unceremoniously grabbed him before releasing him into the young woman’s waiting hands.
“This is the best one-year anniversary gift ever Baby.” The young woman said to the man she had come up with before looking back down at Scott. “Hi little one. I’m Chrissy. I’m going to be your new owner.” The young woman said warmly as she gave him a few gentle pets before reaching into her purse and pulling a plastic card that Scott could only assume was her guardian license.
Hearing the words Anniversary gift was surprising. He understood he was a product of Preema Tech. He knew people were coming to purchase Littles like him. However, the reality was harsher than he expected. He was a gift from this guy to this young woman named Chrissy.
As they filled out paperwork. Scott learned that the guy’s name was Mike Nelson, and the woman was Chrissy Watson. They were juniors in high school. Mike wanted to do something nice for his girlfriend for their one-year anniversary, so he had spent the last couple months saving up for him. Scott hated the idea of being a token of another guy’s love and affection. What he hated even more though was finding out just how young they were. He was already 30 at this point after having spent a couple years going through the system, and they were around 15 years his junior. He knew it didn’t matter much anymore, but it still rubbed him the wrong way.
Scott could feel the warmth radiating up from Chrissy’s hand as she walked towards the back of the store where the checkout counter was. The clerk continued to speak to Chrissy and Mike as they moved towards the counter. The clerk’s speech was flowery and nice. Scott could tell they were a pretty good salesperson. Everything flowed in any gap in conversation was naturally filled.
Chrissy set Scott down on the counter onto a metal platform. The female clerk assured Mike and Chrissy that this was all normal, but Scott noticed that he did not receive the same assurances.
“So, what this does is this performs a scan which interfaces with the chip implanted into the Little. You will see on the screen facing you all the medical and health information we have on the little as well as the current read outs. If you scroll to the bottom, you can input your email address and then sign below.” The clerk said.
“All done, we have 30 days to get a collar correct?” Chrissy asked while looking down at Scott. While he knew this was coming and was expecting it. It didn’t soften the blow at all. It was one thing to read about and listen to training explaining how things were going to work. It was quite another to be experiencing it in real time.
The Preema Tech clerks poked and prodded Scott as they prepared him for his new life. While Scott found himself staring at the giant young couple purchasing him. Almost as if she sensed his nervousness Chrissy looked over at her new Little with a smile as she reached towards him and gently pet him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Leaving the store was the first good thing that happened to him. As they left the store, he saw an older at least a decade old but well maintained. It was a normal car for a teenager to have. Sliding into the passenger seat Chrissy beamed from ear to ear as she looked down at her little
“You could drive at least once.” Mike said as he got into the car.
“You know I’m a permanent Passenger Princess. Plus, it’s your car. I’d feel bad if something happened when I was driving.” Chrissy said before looking down back down at Scott.
“I wonder what we should name him?” Chrissy asked before Scott interrupted.
“Umm, I have a name. Its Scott Hanover.” Scott said he knew it was against training, but he didn’t like it in training, and he didn’t like it now. Preema Tech training told him that he should accept whatever name he was given. However, he wasn’t about to let some teenagers rename him like some kind of mindless beast.
“Scott Watson? Ugh, that sounds like my grandpa’s accountant. Gotta be something cooler, right?” Chrissy raises an eyebrow at her boyfriend.
“Whatever you think. I mean, you’re going to be the one caring for him.” Mike said trying to be diplomatic as in reality, he didn’t care. He knew she wanted a Little and wanted to really go all out for their anniversary to show her how much he loved her. Having done that, the details of it all seemed less important.
“Fine, fine. Scott Watson it is. But that’s a trial run, okay? You mess up once, and we’re brainstorming new names. And obviously, you gotta be, you know…” Chrissy trails off, lowers her voice a touch, and makes a vague hand gesture near the floor, mimicking a dog peeing. “House trained. Got it?” She raises an eyebrow at Scott, still a bit unsure about the whole thing.
“Wait, you think I’m going to pee on your floor? I’m not a dog. I’ve lived indoors my whole life.” Scott thought to himself. However, as he went to answer the training that they had drilled into him started to take effect.
“Yes Ma’am” Scott said pausing realizing he didn’t ask how she wanted to be addressed. That was step one in the training.
“Ma’am? Never call me Ma’am again. Eww, just eww,” Chrissy said, her face scrunching up in disgust. “It sounds so old. Do I look like my grandmother to you?”
“Of course, Sorry.” Scott said
“In fact, you can call me master from now on.” Chrissy said laughing with curiosity in her eyes as she looked down at her new pet Little.
“Master?” Scott said the word was appalling and brash. The idea of having to address in her such a way was outrageous. Before going through the Preema Tech little training Scott would have responded to the joking tone of her voice and the laughing jovial nature of it all. However, the Preema Tech training drilled into him obedience to his owner above all else.
“Oh my gosh. I was just joking. Seriously, just Chrissy is fine.” She said as Mike laughed from the driver’s seat.
“He doesn’t know you. He’s not going to know you’re joking. The clerk said he was little trained. The Preema Tech little training is not like the Generitech Little training. It’s harsher and more inhumane. It’s kinda gross.” Mike said
“Well atleast we got him out there. Are you sure you’re okay with spending so much money on me? You worked so hard these past few months. I thought you were saving up for a jet ski?” Chrissy said.
“There was never at Jet Ski. That was just my cover so that I could surprise you with this.” Mike said before pulling into the driveway of Chrissy’s house.
“You’re the best mike. I love you so much. I feel like a queen. I love my new pet little. Whenever i see him I will think you.” Chrissy said beaming as she rested her hand down next to Scott who scurried out of the way. Looking up, he could see her leaning over as two giants kissed for a couple minutes before the porch light flashed.
“That’s my cue. They are gonna come out if I don’t come in.” Chrissy said getting out of the car before slowly walking towards the door. “This is your home now Scott. “Chrissy said as she opened the front door locking it behind her.
Scott peeked up from Chrissy’s hand as he looked about the large living room. In the distance, he could see her parents. They were greeting and asking her how her night was as Scott could nothing but cling to Chrissy’s hand. After a few minutes of chatter Chrissy walked towards her parents showing them Scott.
“Alright, brace yourselves! This is Scott… maybe. We’re, uh, test-driving the name for a bit. Don’t worry, Mom and Dad, you can still weigh in.” Chrissy says throwing a playful look at Scott. “Right, Scott?”
“Hello, it’s nice to meet you. I mean, it is my name.” Scott said, hoping the parents would be a bit more sympathetic to his plight.
“Mike got him for me for our one year anniersary. He is just the sweetest. We got him at Preema Tech, as he knows how much I love rescues. Thats how I got Bruce too. You should have seen how pathetic and sad he looked in that small dingy cage. It was heartbreaking. He’s a little scrawny, but you could tell he needed a good home like this.” Chrissy said
“It’s nice to meet you, Scott. My name is Rick. You have a home here. Just make sure you mind my daughter Chrissy here. But, I’m sure she will take good care of you. She has aa big heart.” Chrissy’s father said.
“Daddy, you’re the best, but that is a little much, don’t you think?” Chrissy says before giving him a quick hug. “I love you tons, but maybe let’s cool it down a notch, alright?”
“Yes Sir, thank you.” Scott said, trying to be respectful. As he organized his thoughts. As his mind felt like it was at war with itself. The Preema Tech training felt programed and layered on top of his mind. Beneath the layer of training buried deep he could still feel himself but it felt oppressed beneath the training. As he looked up at Chrissy he couldn’t deny that she had in essence saved him. He suspected if he had been at that Preema Tech store any longer the training would have eradicated any semblance of himself he had left.
He knew the Generitech training was different. It was more based on around accommodating to your new life and working in partnership with your guardian. It educated the littles and smallborns more where the Preema Tech training was truly a shortcut. It just wanted to break down and then reprogram the littles into obedient docile pets.
“I have a bit of homework to do and I want to get Scotty here settled into his home. Night.”
“Good night dear,” Chrissy’s mother said before Chrissy went upstairs and into her bedroom closing the door firmly behind her.
“Don’t worry Scotty. You’re safe here. They didn’t hurt you too much at Preema did they?” Chrissy asked before setting Scott down on her bed. Across the room in a pet bed he couldn’t help but notice what looked like to him A large dog but was probably a small to medium sized dog based on how it compared to Chrissy.
“Thats Bruce, he won’t hurt you. He loves littles. You two are going to be best friends.” Chrissy said logging into her laptop humming a popular tune before making a few quick clicks and making a face time call. The electronic dinging filled the room for a moment before a young teenage face appeared on the screen.
“Chrissy!” The young person on the computer exclaimed as Chrissy walked about her room.
“Hey Londyn. I just got home from my date with Mike. He was so sweet. You will never guess what he got me?” Chrissy said excitedly as Scott tried to walk about her bed. Whatever kind of Bed Chrissy had was quite plush. Even as light as he now was, he found himself sinking a bit into the bed. Which made it awkward to try to walk across under ideal conditions. However, Chrissy had left her bed a bit unmade with the comfortor just haphazardly thrown over it creating massive hills and valleys across her bed.
“Mike got me a Little. We rescued him from Preema Tech. He’s so adorable Londyn. But it felt so special to be able to rescue him from that horrible place. I’ve been out with lots of guys before but none of them have done anything like this for me. The fact he would take the time learn and take my dedication to littles so seriously means alot. It’s not like Grant and the rest of them who just made fun of it.” Chrissy said.
“Oh my gosh, let me see him, Chris,” Londyn said
Scott was about to ask for a bit of help when he saw her remove her shirt followed by her Bra as she spoke to Londyn. Scott immediately looked away apologizing to her as loud as she could as she strode towards him.
Come’ere little one don’t be afraid. You are in a safe place now. Away from those horrible people. Why are you so red? He’s so shy Londyn. I can’t wait for you to see him in person.” Chrissy said not understanding he was red from embarassment over the fact she was walking around with no shirt or bra on. As she grasped him carefully as she gently carried him over to her desk and set him down in front of her laptop before angling her screen down so the camera could see him.
“He’s so little. The ones we rescued a couple months ago were much more muscular, but look at how shy he is. He’s so adorable, Chrissy.” Londyn said as she looked over her friends little as Chrissy grabbed a shirt from her closet.
“I know that’s what drew me to him in the store. You could just tell he needed the opportunity to be brought into a good home.” Chrissy said as she changed into some lounge shorts before casually walking back over to her computer and sitting down.
“So, this is the one. This is the little you are going to keep?” Londyn asked, knowing how picky Chrissy was about littles. She liked rescuing all littles regardless of how they looked or how strong they were. She was so passionate about caring for and giving them a better life like her. But this was the first time she actually was going to keep a rescue for her own.
“It just feels right. I know we’ve rescued a dozen or so littles at this point. But this one just feels right. When i got him registered it just felt like the right choice. Sometimes you choose the little and sometimes the little chooses you I guess.” Chrissy said.
“Well, I stopped by our hideout after work, and everything was okay. I restocked supplies and stuff. So, we should be good for a bit.” Londyn said.
“It sounds so mysterious when you call it the hideout. We’ve hung out there for years. OH, have you started that assignment Mr. Lawson gave us.” Chrissy asked. As she logged onto the school’s website.
“Yeah, it wasn’t too bad. It took maybe half an hour or so. “Londyn said
“I guess better go start that then. See you tommorrow Chica.” Chrissy said
“Bye Chris, bye Scotty.” Londyn said as the call ended.
Chrissy looked down at Scott as he files downloaded onto her computer. She wondered how he ended up at that Preema Tech store. No one would willingly just choose to be there like that. He also looked so pitiful at the store she knew she had to ask.
“I’ve been wondering. How did you end up at Preema Tech?” Chrissy asked.
“Oh well after I got infected my family couldn’t afford the fees. They tried for a loan, but the interest fees would have killed them. So, we sort of said our goodbyes as it were and then I was being sent to a government facility when Preema Tech came in and bid on my unit. Just bad luck, you know.” Scott said. It was as hard as it was thinking about his family. It was hard to say goodbye, but so much time had gone by since then. It wasn’t as painful any longer as it once was. It was more like remembering a family member who had passed. You never forget but the further away you are from that point the less it hurts.
“Do you want to contact them or anything? You know at least tell them you are alright.” Chrissy asked as she opened up her homework. Trying to imagine how hard it must be to tell your family goodbye like that.
“I appreciate the gesture. But, we said our goodbyes. I don’t want to reopen that wound for them or me.” Scott said knowing that in life sometimes its better to just let sleeping dog lay. As materially nothing would have changed. He was bought and sold now. Registered to another person. It would be even more expensive than it was prior to get him and unless his family miraculously won the lottery. It’s better for everyone involved to just go down their separate paths.
“Okay, well, the door is always open. I want you to be happy here, Scotty. Sorry, is it alright I call you Scotty? I really wanted to name you Kleine, but I get it. Your name is Scott. I know it makes me sound horrible. Do you think I could call you Scotty instead of Scott? I have a think with pets having people names.” Chrissy said as she started working on her homework before pausing and opening up a drawer in her desk and pulling out a hair scrunchy and placing it down beside Scott. “This would probably be a bit more comfortable .”
“I don’t mind being called Scotty. That seems like it could be a happy medium. I understand wanting to name your pet. But you have a dog named Bruce. It can’t bother you that much.” Scott said.
“Bruce was a rescue like you. He was already named as well. There was a pushback from him like you on the name change thing. So, like with you, I relented. I mean everyone should be able to be called what they want. He likes being called Bruce, and you like being Scott.” Chrissy said while trying to concentrate on her homework.
“So you have a thing for rescues then?” Scott said, trying to learn about his owner.
“Yeah, my best friend Londyn and I rescue Littles and animals. We can just take the animals to the vet or the zoo if they are hurt. There are good people there. The littles are a bit more complicated. We mostly have helped littles who are free but some littles who escaped from bad homes we assisted as well. We didn’t kidnap them or anything, just to be clear. They were just in the wild already when we found them. Most of them had either been attacked by animals, or are starving and malnourished. Others have been caught out in the rain and get battered to near death by the rain. Some had not realized their vulnerability to concrete when it gets hot and how sensitive your skin can be. So we help them out as much as we can. My friend Londyn and I have what we call a little preserve that we take them too. They are free to leave and stuff. We aren’t holding them there, but most seem quite happy.” Chrissy said talking while doing her homework. Speaking to Scott seemed to help her concentrate on her work. As she was never a person who liked doing work in silence.
“Thats very kind of you to help out like that.” Scott said never having met someone who so openly chose to help those who are less fortunate. He couldn’t help but think how selfish he seemed in comparison to her. He was nice to people but he never tried to help those were less fortunate.
“Well we both love animals. We work at the zoo in the summers. The pay isn’t the greatest but its fun to be around all the critters. So helping littles just came naturally as you’re all kind of related.” Chrissy said as she continued to work through her homework while glancing down at Scott every so often.
“Am I going to be going to your sanctuary?” Scott asked as he looked at the giant hair scrunchy before sitting down. His body sunk into the soft fabric of the hair scrunchy which as much as he hated to admit it. It did feel rather comfortable.
“No silly, you’re my little. Mike got you for me. You’ll be staying here with me from now on. This is your home.” Chrissy said as she reuploaded her homework. “It’s getting late we should get to bed. I have class tomorrow.”
“I suppose I will be accompanying you then?” Scott said as Chrissy lifted him up as she carefully carried him over to her bed.
“To school? Thats funny. I’m not taking you to school. You’ll be at home, of course. I won’t have time to care for you at school. But you’ll see me after school.” Chrissy said as she looked down Scotty.
“Oh, I heard before I was infected about teens taking littles to school. I just assumed.” Scott said a bit relieved as one time through school was bad enouhg.
“Hmmm, Yeah, some people do. No one at my school does. Since littles can’t be enrolled in public schools anymore. I take that back. I guess I have seen a few people with littles during lunch. But it’s not common, I guess. You don’t need to worry about that though Scotty.”
Scott watched Chrissy open up her nighstand drawer she had a little bed and an old cellphone sitting in there. She lowered him towards the bed letting climb off her hand. He pressed down on the bed surprised at how soft it was. It had been a long time since he slept in an actual bed.
“You got me an actual bed? At Preema Tech and at the store, I just slept on a mat with a blanket.” Scott said as a horrified look ran across Chrissy’s face.
“That’s horrible. Well, you have an actual bed here and we have some of those little pellets here. The good ones from Genentech. We’ll start you on a regular meal routine in the morning. You’re definitely malnourished. There’s some water in there if you get hungry. I will ask my parents in the morning to get a few different kinds of Pellets so you can have a little variety in your diet. It’s not good for you to eat people’s food. Your body struggles to properly break it down and extract the nutrients from it.” Chrissy added before shutting the drawer of her nightstand nearly all the way just leaving a slight crack.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A band of light shone into the drawer as Scott looked around confused as to where he was for a moment. Sleeping in the bed made im realize just how much his body ached. The bed was a level of luxury he was not used to. He found that his body sunk into the mattress aligning his spine properly it felt a bit like sleeping on a cloud. Even his actual bed before he was immune wasn’t this comfortable.
As he laid in bed for a few minutes his entire body felt a level of exhaustion he hadn’t felt before. In the first time since this ordeal happened he actually felt safe and it was like his body knew it. As he looked up at the sliver of light, he thought briefly about what time it was before falling back asleep
“Scott,” He heard a voice say followed by creaking of a door opening up. Loud footsteps which were trying to be soft could be heard as he felt the drawer Chrissy had put him in pull open.
“I’m sorry you were probably still sleeping. Chrissy said you were dead to the world when she got ready and left for school. But she asked me to drop in some pellets for you. Do try to eat a little sweety. She is worried about your health. I forgot to introduce myself before. My name is Diana.” Mrs. Watson said as she lowered down a couple pellets and set them beside Scott.
“Thank you.” Scott said grabbing one of pellets. As he bit into it, he couldn’t believe the explosion of flavor. He had gotten so used to the Preema Tech pellets which were absent of any kind of flavor or taste. It was more like eating saw dust. This was quite tasty in comparison.
“Sorry it’s not People food but Chrissy would kill me.” Mrs. Watson said
“It’s okay. Its been so long since I had people food its not as big of a deal as it used to be. The smells and stuff bring me back and really make my mouth water. But I’ve been eating pellets so long at Preema Tech. I think my body probably adjusted to them fully.” Scott joked partly but knew there was a bit seriousness in that.
“Chrissy should be home in a few hours. She said the passcode to the phone is just 12345 and it’s connected to the Wi-Fi and put in little mode. Rick, myself and Chrissy are all entered into the phone. Rick’s at work but I’m just downstairs if you need anything just send a text.” Mrs. Watson said as she closed the drawer, leaving just a crack for him.
Scott walked over to the phone and entered in the code. He could swipe his hand across the screen and pull up apps. When he pulled up netflix there was a Scotty account created with the people accounts all greyed out. As Little Mode doesn’t allow him to enter his owner’s account.
“I really am just her pet now. I’m sitting here in this drawer just waiting for Chrissy to come home from school. Her family seems nice enough.” Scott said walking back over to his bed feeling more tired then anything still. As he climbed back into bed, he drifted off sleep.
It wasn’t until he heard the door reopen as his drawer burst open with the face of Chrissy overhead that he was startled awake. She smiled down at him, apologizing for being home so late, but apparently, she had gone out with Mike after school
“I’m just going to change” Chrissy said vanishing for a few minutes before returning wearing nothing but a bathing suit and a wrap. She reached down grabbing Scott in one hand with a large book in the other.
“Where are we going?” Scott said trying not to sound like he was waiting all this for. After living in a Preema Tech cage for so long, he was excited to do anything.
“We’re just going to the backyard. I feel like doing some reading. It’s a cool enough day that the cement wont burn you. I figured I would ease you in this week and get you settled in before having you do much on the chore front.” Chrissy said.
“Chores?” Scott said unsure of what he could possibly do.
“Oh, nothing major. Just things like painting nails. Some small cleaning jobs. Since you’ll be home when I’m at school i figured you could give my shoes from the prior day a little sprucing up. I’m not going to work you like a servant or anything. You’re my pet little most of the time we will just be hanging out or watching tv. I may bring you along as my friends and I do things.” Chrissy said running down the list.
Nothing sounded extreme and his little training had prepared him for much worse honestly. He knew a part of him should be furious or irate. However, as Chrissy slid out of her sandals and set Scott down on the ground. He watched Bruce plop down just beneath Chrissy who was stretched out on a hanging bench.
Certain things Scott found himself no longer able to think differently thanks to Preema Tech. Chrissy was his owner. That fact seemed so solidfied in his mind. The seed was planted early on when he was trained. The first thing after mentally breaking him was the fact that the person who took you home was your owner.
Chrissy seemed like a nice person from what he knew, but he wondered how things would be different for those not brought home by someone as nice as Chrissy. How would that even work
“Londyn said she was going to come over after dinner to meet you, Scotty. She’s my best friend so make sure to be on your best behavior and I expect you listen to her. Just like Bruce does.
“Okay,” Scott said
“We’re going to go to the store and get you things this weekend. Don’t worry Scotty. In a few weeks this will be the only home you remember and all that horror and struggle you went through won’t even be a memory.” Chrissy said
Chrissy knew by the look on his face he did’t know. It might be for the best. One of the reasons why she hated Preema Tech so much was beside the cruel training the chip they implant into the littles has unique encoding which the generitech chips do not have. Once the Littles are purchased and registered it activated a trojan program. It starts repressing all their memories from before the date of purchase.
The U.S. government and Generitech are trying to get it made illegal. But she knew a battle like that would take years of fighting in the courts. But considering what Preema Tech put their littles through, it may be the most humane thing they could do is just make them forget. But it also takes away the memories of everything before Preema Tech which is the worst part.
As Chrissy thought about it, she got even more upset. As she looked down at Scotty all she could do now was just make his adjustment as painless as possible and make his home life with her as good as it can be. She would make sure to re-educate her little if it repressed anything like his ability to read. She had read reports of sometimes key knowledge would get repressed as its supposed leave alone educational knowledge, but the process was far from perfect.
Enjoy your break mate, you definitely earned it and more.
I’d apologise for the long response but that’s what you get for a long post, lol.
1) Preema Tech is an interesting development, I was under the impression that all littles were owned by Genritech exclusively.
1a) Do Preema tech also have their own guardian training programs?
1b) Would Genritech sell a little to a Preema-trained guardian or Visa Versa?
1c) how do the Preema tech littles know what Genritech is like?
1d) How is Preema tech able to move littles through borders?
1e) what’s the price variance between Genri littles vs Preema littles?
1f) Does Scott still have a Little/Social worker visit in the near future?
2) Queen of the Littles ain’t that good at protection Scotty, what happened to you sucks but you’re idolising a less shitty prison, not something actually idyllic.
3) That’d suck so bad to be a gift from one child to another, even worse than just being owned by one.
4) what year is this taking place in,? I’m guessing 2024-25, but Londyn should be a senior, not a junior, Maybe I have her age wrong, but wasn’t she supposed to be attending college in 2025?
5) Normalising renaming is unsurprisingly normalised, It’s sad enough that it happened to Jordan, I hadn’t thought it’d be common but it makes perfect sense.
6) Master doesn’t sound much younger than Ma’am. I’m glad she didn’t stick with it.
7) It’s odd knowing how it seems to be common knowledge how littles are treated in facilities.
8a) That fucking dog would be a nightmare for a little, (and naming him after the shark from Finding Nemo was a nice touch)
8b) Is Bruce trained not to attack littles?
9) Nice to see Londyn Poulson again, as a student of Bryce.
9b) Gives new meaning to Logan telling Lonyn “You can’t save them all”.
10a) I love Londyn and Chrissy save Littles, though how does the legality work?
10b) Would they get in trouble if Genritech, the government or law enforcement found out?
10c) What’s the sanctuary/preserve like?
11) Chrissy seems to be a good guardian.
12) She actually asked to call him “Scotty” instead of “Scott” which makes me happy.
13) Glad Scott’s dodging the second schooling experience.
14) hey Confirmation of different pellet flavours.
15) Even Diana and Rick are helping and showing kindness to Scotty.
16) Interesting that Scotty can’t even open Chrissy’s Netflix, is his Netflix censored keeping him ignorant like so much else in this world?
17) Letting him settle in before assigning him chores, she’s great.
18) that’s an interesting advancement in chip technology that it can fuck with their memory and brain function.
19) 41 minutes, that’s how long it took for my text-to-speech to read this whole damn story, lol. Though this did feel like several chapters rolled together.
20) I’m surprised you named her and the series “Chrissy” Since you already have a “Krysi” in another story, you weren’t overly fond of having two Kellis.
All good questions. Can’t wait to see the response. I hope we get a story of a worker in a generitech facility at some point so we can see what it’s like. Based on this, even though from Kelli’s description (need to see what bryce said, if anything) it does sound pretty isolated and prisonish, but it’s gotta be a palace to the preema tech offers
Well Generitech they have a pod which is similar to a studio apartment. They have an iPad, they have time they are allowed outside their pod but that’s also because being littles they need to have safeguards and protection in place. So they can’tjust allow them to freely leave them pod.
PReema tech it truly is a small cage and it is much more isolated experience.
Right, but I kinda wish generitech offered a facility not too dissimilar from a full service apartment complex and gave more autonomy for Littles to do things on their own. Though I guess the issue with that is it’d allow them too much individual freedom and probably hurt their training and ability to adapt to being owned by a normie.
You kind of answered your own question on that one. Giving the littles to much freedom invalidates they are being sold as pets at the end of the day.
You can only give up so much freedom
If it makes you feel better, that’s part of what the micropolise is in my fan fic, and they’re managed by Genritech Australia.
1) Generitech has deals with governments around the world, but it would be impossible to have them all. They have a monopoly on littles but there are still littles available.
1a) No there is only one guardian program that is nationally recognized across countries.
1B) Guardians all go through the same training program in the U.S. and allied nations. So there is no difference in licensing and training.
1C) You have a influx of littles who get infected at varying times. So they get reports from people who are infected later.
1D) its not illegal to transport littles across borders. you have to follow the laws of the country of origin. You generally initially register littles in the country you are headquartered in. I.E. generitech is an American company so all there littles are registered as Americans. The vast majority of Preema Tech Littles are from foreign countries with looser restrictions. They buy other littes in smaller quantities.
1E) Its substantial thousands of dollars of difference.
1F) Its something all littles have happen. It probably won’t be depicted in detail. Madison’s world shows that process.
2) Its still the gold standard of what he could hope for. Anyone would want the best situation for themselves. Even if its the best of a lesser situation.
3)Yes I agree. Being bought by one teen as a gift and demonstration of his love to another. So you’re this persons living symbol of love.
4) That is a good catch. It is 2024. I was trying to do that conversion of time to in my head and got it wrong. you are correct they should be seniors. I will have to correct that.
5) It is quite common in this world to rename your little to personalize them more.
6) That is true. I agree with you. Although master does sound more ageless in my opinion as its more a title like Lord or Baron, etc. Where Ma’am hits a bit different.
7)It would be like the difference between shopping at a budget store and shopping at higher end store. People are readily aware of the quality differences between the products.
People are aware of the difference between Preema Tech Littles and Generitech Littles. Especially in the U.S. where they have access to better quality of little who are trained and treated better. But, sometimes price dictates where you go.
8a) Ha yes. The references was gotten by someone.
8B) Bruce doesn’t attack littles. Chrissy has socialized him around littles and has trained him so he knows not to attack them. She could order him too but she’s not that kind of person.
9a) yeah I try to have touchstones in the varying stories to connect it to the world and make it seem like a real living breathing world. But not make it so over the top where its unrealistic. Just small things here and there.
9b) yes that was the exact connection I was making and when I told you that you would see Londyn again this is what I was referring to that in comment. You 100% nailed the reference is was making at that point. As this was always the plan.I was worried no one would realize.
10a) Well they aren’t stealing littles or anything. It’s by the letter of the law illegal as they should turn them over and report them. Instead, they help them as much as they can.
10b) Well they could possibly get fined or a slap on the wrist. But they aren’t doing anything inherently illegal that they could prove. They do remove the collars because they are tracking devices. However, they would have to be caught in the act of doing that.
Its not breaking any hard laws. They aren’t murdering people or anything. Its nothing they would go to jail over or anything.
11) She tries to be a good person and tries to do right by the littles. Shes an interesting character as she doesn’t view littles as equals similar to Sara. They are more pet like to her. But she also goes out of her way to protect them. She doesn’t try to alienate them. She is nice and kind.
I am curious how people respond to her character.
12) Yes she does have more a dialogue with Scott and while she does does consider her Scott owners. Shes not oppressive about it.
13) I thought you would appreciate that. Its a different look at how people handle things. Its an odd juxtaposition as Jordan you could say has a bit more autonomy as he is going to school with Sara and more of an active part in her life. Where Chrissy is leaving scott at home like someone does a pet. But she also does treat him a bit differently then Sara.
14) yes there are different pellet types. Another difference from Jordan is that Scott Solely eats pellets where Jordan eats people food and the occasional pellet.
15) I would say they are giving a typical experience. They view him as a pet but they do also care bout him in that same way. He is their daughters pet so they aren’t going to be mean or mistreat him. Its kind of illustrates how different families and different views. How while even people who don’t think of Littles as equals can still be good people.
16) Well the phone is in little mode. IN little mode you can’t open a non-littles account. As they have different content some content is the same.
17) I thought yu would appreciate that point. LIke he will have to do things but she isn’t going to rush him into things.
18) Each company makes there own chips but they respond to the same scanners. Kind of like intel and AMD cpu’s They are similar but also different.
19) well the minimum length of a Smallara chapter is 500 words. THe earlier ones don’t have that restriction but last few years I’ve been doing a minimum of 500 words a chapter. THis was 6500 word. So this would be comparable to 13 Episodes. (not some episodes are more then 500 words much more so. But at minimum)
20) Well Kelli is spelled similarly enough where it could create confusion. Krysi and Chrissy are spelled and look so different. The odds of someone being bein confused would be pretty minimal.
1) I did think it was at least exclusive in the US but I’m more curious now, are there more than just Genritech and Preema Tech?
1d) right so this is after the borders reopen?
2) I guess that makes sense, still it feels like he’s mistaken the lesser of two evils for a non-evil thing.
4) Thanks, I try. So does that also mean they’re older than 15? or just how old are they?
6) Master could be ageless, but it’s also masculine with Mistress being the feminine version, which I found funny as well.
7) I suppose, but you’d think Preema would want that all kept quiet.
8a) Does she greet him daily by saying “G’day, Bruce” in an Aussie accent?
8b) I’m assuming she taught him “littles are friends, not food” lol. but that is so cool that there are now ways to train that out of animals.
9a) that is so cool, also makes my “minor” obsession with your stories feel like it’s not just a weird quirk and something that’ll actually pay off.
9b) Yeah well, you know me, I love noticing shit like that. It’s fascinating that you had this planned way back then.
10a) It sounds an awful lot like they’re keeping littles away from their legal owners. or possibly harboring unregistered littles which we learned was a federal class A felony in 291.
10b) Would it be enough to cancel their guardian licences, or blacklist them from ever receiving any?
11) I’d say that she’s a really good person, her not counting littles as people seems to be her only negative trait. I personally believe she’s the best guardian we’ve seen.
12) love that about her
13) It’s interesting that she’d still consider he’d need to be enrolled despite being 30, and that littles can’t be enrolled anymore.
Jordan has a weird mix of autonomy, He’s with Sara more and she’s partially reliant on him, but he also gets a lot less say than Scotty does, and has to be dragged around all day, rarely getting moments to himself.
15) I was more thinking about Tiff having seemingly washed her hands of Jordan, likely wouldn’t talk to him directly if he wasn’t with Sara (and even then probably not) I couldn’t see Tiff checking in on Jordan f Sara had to leave him, like Diane did with Scotty, offering to be available if he needs her.
16) that seems weird to me, Is his Netflix like a kid’s account or is there just certain content they don’t want littles watching, and why? what are they afraid of?
18) I’m really curious how chip technology develops in this world’s future.
19) that makes sense, if this was Smallara proper it would have taken three months to cover what you did here. Still, I hope the next one isn’t as long.
20) That’s true, it just feels odd to me, after the Kelli/Helen change.
1) They are the two main ones.
2) Borders are open for trade/commerce purposes at this point in time as far as the U.S. is concerned.
4) Never said they were 15. Scott was saying they were around 15 years his junior. But he is just eyeballing. Its not like he knows them. It is meant to provide the reader a ballpark meaning it could be plus or minus at that point in time. As you learn more as a reader you can deduce as a reader that they are older.
6)THe two word aren’t equal in my opinion as mistress has a wider variety of usage in modern times. So it doesn’t quite seem as powerful of a term.
7) People talk, news reports come out. Its hard to keep something like that quiet.
8a) Probably not.
8b) He is very little friendly.
10) I wouldn’t quite say harboring nor are they keeping the littles from there legal owners as the littles can leave freely.
They just have a safe space littles can be who are in the wild. To me at least harboring would be like tehy have a bunch of littles in the basement or something. That is very much not what it happening.
10b) It would be difficult to connect them to anything. As the littles are still very much free and on their own.
11) It could also just at some point not be a trait but just be fact of how the world works
15) True but because Sara takes Jordan with her around everywhere. Tiffany wouldn’t really have an opportunity to do that. However I do agree that its questionable if TIffany would do what DIane and Rick have done for Scott.
16) its a little version of the service similar to a kid account.
19) This one was more in a normal story length so it does go much longer and cover more material. Next time it would probably be similar format but probably not as long as this was more longer as I had to establish how things happened, how he got there. The basis of his world. so to speak. Where next time all that’s done so it would probably just be a 1500 -2000 words at most which is about the length of the longer smallera chapters.
Generitech seems like saints in comparison to preema. Hopefully the lawsuit wins
Generitech is a better company then Preema Tech. But Preema Tech is public traded tehy have to answer to investors. Their goal is to make money and make money for their investors.
Generitech while they want to be profitable they aren’t driven by money as they are privately held. They only need to ensure they make enough money to pay their employees. They invest more into company and are more moralstically driven. Not say they are perfect or they don’t do things people say si wrong.
But as you said saints in comparison.
Firstly, enjoy your break, you deserve it.
Secondly I think I’m going to like Chrissy and Londyn as characters in the Smallara universe.
They are different characters then the others depicted so far.
That was so cool. I loved everything in this story, I liked how you included the parent, the male and female friends and also the boyfriend too. The fact that Scott is 30 and his new owner is only 15 was in my opinion the best part, it was weird humiliating and awesome at the same time. One of the best. Hope there is part 2
There will probably be follow up content at some point.All content for this story is planned to be more traditional in that its a complete tale all at once and each story continues it. So its not small daily updates like the mainline smallara.
I was very curious how people would react to this. IT does have som humiliating moment and such but its not as over the top as some content. Glad you enjoyed it.
My favorite part was when Chrissy told Scott that him and her dog will be best friends. A 15 y old child telling a full gown man that he will be best friend with her dog was insanely funny. Her parents are down stairs having adult time while he is going to be their daughter’s dog buddy. I love the insanity and the madness in this world.
Love the first chapter. Chrissy seems nice, and preematech makes me feel more happy about thinking generitech isn’t as bad as they sound. Not surprised they’re suing but interested in what the govs alterior motive is. Maybe they’re afraid of gov officials getting smallara and losing trade secrets or something.
Enjoy you’re break!
Chrissy is nice. Preema Tech defiantely further explains some of the depictions of Generitech andfurther explains why some things are said in the main series like Sara being mostly good. As while you could argue and say Chrissy is more good. However, Both are lightyears better then how Preema Tech treats littles.
You took a break by adding yet another spin-off story? You have a weird way of taking a break, dude…. LOL
He’s also taking two weeks off, this isn’t his break it’s the last post before one.
yes one week of pure freedom. Then one week of just creating content but free from posting.
This one is much more self contained and has a definitive ending to the branch. As while I’m sure I will post a follow up chapter at some point as there are touchstones and things to follow up on. Its not ongoing in the same way Birthday shipment, or Good girlfriend or Smallara is. Its more along the lines of Madison’s World where its a complete story/Season. So it could be followed up but its also stands alone.
But I do understand your point. I did basically write a whole season of content then decide to go away and take a break. Where I could have probably expounded this out over the course of an entire break.
