As Dayton read over the character Sara had made for her, a Kobold ranger named Tilba, she was to serve as a squire to Sara’s Dragonborn barbarian named Igraine Lionors, as Dayton read on she could clearly tell Sara had put a lot more effort into her own character than Dayton’s. Perhaps Sara would let her make alterations, she obviously wasn’t too invested in Tilba.
Dayton started making notes and suggestions for her character to be less lame than Sara had designed. “How could someone so cool create such a loser character?” Dayton thought to herself.
Lost in thought Dayton was snapped back to reality by the sound of movement in her and Sara’s room. She looked around trying to find its source, she slowly reached for her collar. “Mocha is that you?” Dayton asked nervously, at that moment she was able to see the movement on Sara’s bed, she pulled the destress cord on her collar, calling for Sara’s help, to her horror both Sara’s Genritech watch, and phone were on the desk with her, which she became aware of by their alarms and vibrations going off beside her.
“Stay back Mocha!” Dayton ordered as she pointed at the movement, hoping to God that the animal would heed her command like it once did when she was bigger.
“Meow,” Chloe said poking her head out from under the covers of her girlfriend’s bed.
“Oh my goodness, Chloe,” Dayton said with a sigh of relief, “you scared me half to death”.
“I’m really sorry, Daylight,” Chloe apologised through a laugh as she climbed out of Sara’s bed to turn off the alarms on Sara’s devices, “I’m not going to eat you, little one.”
“Okay,” mumbled Dayton, blushing profusely.
“Could you release the distress cord, please?” Chloe asked as the alarms kept restarting every time she silenced them.
“I… I didn’t…” Dayton stumbled over her words trying to sound cool for Sara’s girlfriend, slowly letting the cord go so the alarms could stop.
“Well, at least we know the distress signal still works,” Chloe said, she didn’t doubt the devices effectiveness but was trying to lighten the mood as she saw Dayton’s little face getting redder and redder.
“I won’t tell Sara,” Chloe whispered with a wink, “just hope she didn’t hear the alarms.”
“Thank you, Chloe,” Dayton said quietly.
“You’re welcome, Daylight” Chloe said, sitting down at Sara’s desk.
“You’re the best,” Dayton complimented as she looked up at Chloe, who was leaning on the desk, supporting her head in her hands.
Chloe pinched a candy pellet from the little dispenser Sara kept on her desk for Dayton, “can you do something for me?” Asked Chloe, dropping the pellet in Dayton’s lap.
“I can try,” Dayton answered taking a bite out of the pellet she’d received.
“You know Kelli,” Chloe started to explain, “She’s been refusing to eat her pellets, and that’s a bit stressful for poor Kayla.”
“And you want me to pin her down and force her to eat some.” Dayton said with a salute to Chloe.
“Not even close,” Chloe said, annoyed by Dayton’s rough approach, “She’s twice your size, how could you even… Not the point, I would like you to share some pellets with her when you see her next.”
“But she doesn’t eat pellets,” reminded Dayton.
“Well, studies have shown that littles are actually a lot more receptive to pellets if offered by another little compared to when a human offers them.” Chloe explained, “but this has to stay between us, no one can know I’m intervening.”
“I don’t know,” Dayton hesitated.
“I won’t force you,” Chloe confirmed.
At that moment their talk was cut short by the jiggling of the door handle. The two watched as whoever was on the other side was clearly struggling with what should be the simple task of opening the door. Chloe was just about to get up and check who’s out there as the door swings open, Sara’s foot is seen coming off the handle as she lowers it to the ground and steps into the room holding a loaded tray.
“Wakey, wakey Chloe, I made you breakfast in…” started Sara, but paused when she saw Chloe, her eyes darting between her overturned comforter and her girlfriend, “could you get back into bed for me, please?”
“Sure, babe,” Chloe said standing, she pets Dayton before walking over to Sara and kissing her cheek, then returned to the bed, and laying on it.
“Breakfast in bed,” Sara finished.
“What’s the occasion?” Chloe asked, having not expected this from her girlfriend.
“I saw the tray while feeding Mocha and thought, ‘yeah, why not’ to the idea.” Sara said putting the tray up to her desk, “Dayton, on.” Sara commanded before Dayton stepped onto the tray.
“Did you get into the Candy pellets again?” asked Sara in an accusatory tone towards Dayton after she saw that the dispenser had been messed with.
“No, babe,” Chloe said, “that was me, sorry.”
“That’s alright, Chlo,” Sara told her, bringing the tray over and sitting beside her, “But I don’t want her just eating candy all the time, she needs to start her day eating something healthier.”
“You do realise all little pellets are equally healthy, right?” Chloe asked, “I mean, yes there are the special diet pellets for the obese littles and other ones that meet special dietary needs like gluten free or the diabetic ones, but one candy pellet isn’t any less healthy than a salad pellet.”
“That’s so weird,” Sara said, as she sat beside Chloe, “but I still don’t want her just eating the candy ones, she needs variety.”
“I get variety from your food,” Dayton pointed out, “I can just eat that instead of different pellets.”
Sara reached over to pet Dayton, “No Whitto Wady, you need to eat a variety of pellets too.”
“You know Daylight, pellets are getting more variety everyday, Genriburger has their entire menu replicated in pellet form just for littles like you, even their drinks are getting little versions,” Chloe said seeing Dayton’s disappointment, “we’re even working out deals with Oreo, Kellogg’s and Cadbury so you can enjoy those foods again too.” Chloe lowered her hand onto Dayton’s head and gave a gentle stroke.
“That does sound really nice,” Datron confessed hugging Chloe’s fingers.
“And speaking of really nice this breakfast sooks amazing,” Chloe said, the tray before her had two plates on it, both loaded with an egg each, toast, bacon and some mixed fruit in a bowl between the plates, one egg had been poached, and the other was sunny side up, clearly indicating who’s was who’s, “thanks babe.”
“Of course, you paid for dinner last night, so I made breakfast, sounds fair” Sara reminded her in a teasing voice.
“Dinner was complimentary to guests” Chloe reminded Sara.
“It was a Genritech event, so Genritech paid for everyone’s meal,” Sara explained, “which means you paid.”
Chloe laughed at Sara’s logic while digging into her breakfast and Sara did the same, Sara periodically giving Dayton bites to eat as they went, chatting and laughing about nothing in particular, just enjoying the shared company.
(1) Now I’m wondering how Dayton and Sara didn’t wake up Chole when they talked in Chapter 1 if she’s been in the room the whole time.
(2) Another question I have is, since Dayton has replaced Jordy as Sara’s little in this AU, how did Sara find Dayton? Did her parents buy Dayton from a Generitech facility? Or was Dayton in Sara’s backyard like Jordan was in Smallara prime and almost got stepped on?
(3) It’s no surprise that Sara did not give Dayton’s D and D character much thought outside of being a squire and to serve Sara’s character, considering how Sara and her family view littles and all that.
Overall a good chapter I can’t wait to see where this goes from here.
I hope there’s a dnd chapter where sarahs main dies and Daytons is a party favorite lol
Me too then Dayton can show that she’s more than a mere squire haha.
1) the real answer is I hadn’t decided Chloe wat there when I wrote Little Dayton I, but in universe, Sara lowered her voice to speak to Dayton and Dayton’s not that loud, Chloe was just sleeping too heavily to be stirred by them.
2) I have considered doing a “Little Dayton O” as a prequel to explain this, but the abridged story is;
Mrs Harris found Dayton shrunken and asleep in her bed, took her to Genricare to essentially abandon her, however this was the same Genricare Tiffany Reeves worked in the little wing of, Tiffany in this universe (and my headcanon of the main universe) is Dayton’s godmother, so she immediately took Dayton aside, then rang up Mrs Harris to demand an explanation.
Tiffany does love Dayton and didn’t want her to be abandoned into the system so purchased her for Sara, who she knew wanted a little, Dayton was then presented to Sara as an early Christmas/Birthday gift.
3) it’s a bit more than that, Dayton wants to convince Sara to let her change the character, But Sara deliberately put in low effort so Dayton would want to improve her, tricking Dayton into getting invested in the character and therefore game.
Thanks I enjoyed writing it.
(1) Makes sense
(2) Funny enough I am doing the same thing in my Small Sara story with the only difference being Dayton wanted to bring Sara into the Harris household. Which, of course her mom said no, leading to an argument and Mrs Harris disowned Dayton and she was adopted by Tiffany.
(3) Ah smart thinking by Sara.
(4) A Little Dayton 0 would be cool.
2) I look forward to reading that story. Feel free to use my explanation of Dayton being Mr. and Mrs. Reeve’s goddaughter to explain why they take her in.
3) Well she does know how to manipulate.
4) Yeah, I’ll see if I can get it any good.
I like how the pellets are being developed. Making them the same flavor as popular brands and meals is a clever way to get variety and make it more inclusive to littles
Agreed that’s a great way for littles to sort of eat real food again.
I think it suits the world, licenced pellets would be more expensive though as Genritech needs to pay for the trademarked flavours.
From the brands perspective it makes perfect sense, they get to look progressive by having a littles able to eat their product, and they don’t even have to put in the effort themselves as Genritech is making it.
1) I like the expansion of pellets lore as they would make deals with other brands to have flavors of pellets. Especially as Smallara normalized things
2) Dayton playing second fiddle as a squire is hilarious considering how dominating her personality normally is. Which is shown a bit when she talks about pinning Kelli down and forcing her to eat pellets. That would be funny to see.
3) Chloe scaring Dayton was great. I like the little Panic alarm she had. Sara seemed to not notice which is good for dayton who seemed embarrassed but Sara also didn’t look at any devices.
4) Chloe admitting she gave Dayton the candy pellet was good.
5) Sara making Chloe breakfast was sweet and very fitting.
6) the eggs were a nice touch.
7) I really enjoy this little dayton series. It has a lot of potential.
1) Thanks, this is an AU story but I try and write it in a way that could fit in with the actual cannon of your world. It’s a good deal for a brand to accept, as all they have to do is say “yes” and Genritech will do basically all the work to make little pellets in their flavours.
2) I’m glad that joke seemed to land well, part of the Joke is that that’s what Sara would assume, her pet’s character should be subordinate to her, even in a fantasy world, though that’s probably something Dayton wants to change.
I did like showing some of Dayton’s more dominant personality, and how she even got a little aggressive with it. A tussle like that would be funny and probably cute, but like Chloe started to say, Dayton wouldn’t win.
3) I loved writing that so much. Dayton does have a panic alarm built into her collar, just in case, it sends a signal to Sara’s devices, it’s to signify that she’s not wearing the same collar Jordan is as some features are different.
Sara was in the kitchen whereas Dayton and the alarms were in Sara’s bedroom, her room is partially soundproof due to her streaming, so her not hearing them does have a reason behind it, Sara could check her devices but Chloe shut off the alarm and set the notification to ‘seen’ so she has no reason to.
Dayton is embarrassed, mostly because she looks up to Sara’s friends almost as much as she looks up to Sara.
4) She didn’t realise it would be something Sara was against but also wasn’t going to let Dayton get punished for her actions (especially not after asking a favour).
5) Yeah, I love her doing little romantic gestures like that.
6) I can be very detail-oriented like that.
7) Thanks, I’m enjoying the thinking I have to do surrounding it, and how the change in dynamics would flow with the shuffling of who is and isn’t immune.
Dayton is treated better than Jordan is by Sara, Chloe is a bit more affectionate with Dayton, (petting her, calling her Daylight) but only because Dayton is with her, (Cuddling up to her, making an obvious effort to look impress her.) I’m looking forward to seeing Ellie, Mal, Steph and the others.
This makes me want to write a one-shot where Little Dayton and Chole spend a weekend together.
Go for it, but I plan on giving Dayton one one-on-one time with quite a few characters as I write.
(All of Sara’s friend group are gonna have their own nicknames for her even)
Oh, that should be fun poor Dayton’s head will be spinning at all of the nicknames.
