Greg felt a pang of guilt as McKenzie carried him down the hall, her footsteps light yet deliberate. He glanced back over his shoulder, the image of Cindy in the habitat burned into his mind. Once again, he was leaving her behind, alone to face Madison’s authority, while he was being whisked away by McKenzie. The gentle, affectionate pets she gave him as he rested in her hand soothed him, almost instinctively calming the tension in his body. It was a simple comfort, one he couldn’t deny enjoying, even if a part of him ached for Cindy.
He did love his wife, deeply, but he couldn’t shake the sense of relief that came with being outside the habitat, away from Madison’s stern gaze. It was selfish, and he knew it, but here, in McKenzie’s hands, there was a reprieve. Her touch, soft and reassuring, made the reality of his situation easier to bear.
When McKenzie’s voice rang out, calling back to her sister that she was keeping him for the night, Greg was surprised. It wasn’t a decision he’d expected, but he found he didn’t mind. After all, where else did he have to go now? Any semblance of authority he once had in the household was long gone. He had once been the head of the family, the one who made decisions, offered guidance. Now, those days felt like a distant memory. His power, his role, had been stripped away—he was left with only what McKenzie allowed him.
He had raised both his daughters to be strong, independent women. He had always been proud of that, proud of the fierce intelligence and capability they had shown throughout their lives. But now, in this strange new reality, that same independence made it impossible for him to exert any control. McKenzie and Madison were more than capable of thinking for themselves, of making their own decisions, and they did so with a confidence that left no room for him.
As he lay in McKenzie’s hand, cradled like something precious yet powerless, Greg couldn’t help but reflect on his place in the family. He had been reduced to something small, something dependent—forever a Little in their eyes. There was no going back. No matter how much love remained between them, the roles had shifted irreversibly. He was no longer the father who once held authority. Now, he was just another Little in their world.
McKenzie’s hand petted him again, gently brushing over his back, her fingers sending a wave of calm through him. He could feel the care in her touch, the protective nature of it, and for a fleeting moment, it felt like the days when she was still his little girl. But the difference now was unmistakable. McKenzie wasn’t seeking comfort from him—she was offering it. She was in control. And, as much as it pained him, Greg knew that this was the new order of things. He could only exist within the boundaries she set for him, within the care she chose to give.
It was a strange feeling—being loved, but not as a father anymore. Not as an equal. Just as her Little. He knew Cindy would never accept this fully, that her pride would make it all the more unbearable for her. But Greg, lying in McKenzie’s hand, felt a quiet resignation settle over him. A part of him didn’t want to fight it anymore. That side of himself telling him he had no strength left to resist the inevitable.
As McKenzie carried him further down the hall, her voice softened, almost as if speaking to a pet. “Don’t worry, Dad. You’re with me now.” And despite everything, Greg found himself leaning into her hand, grateful for even this small kindness in a world where he had no control.
As McKenzie entered her room, she gently closed the door and set Greg down on her desk. Her lips curved into a soft smile as she crouched down, bringing her face closer to his. Greg felt a wave of discomfort at being scrutinized so closely—her eyes, larger than life, scanned every detail of his much smaller body. It was unnerving, the way her gaze seemed to take in everything about him as if he were some fragile artifact.
“You look okay,” she finally said, her voice gentle but observant. “Though you seem a little skinnier than usual.” McKenzie reached into a drawer and pulled out a small box of pellets, shaking a few out onto the desk beside him. Greg’s eyes wandered, catching sight of a large burger sitting on the edge of the desk, its wrapper crumpled, the smell still tempting. It was from the convenience store, one of Greg’s guilty pleasures. He’d discovered how good the burgers were after McKenzie started working there. When he passed by on his way to or from work, he’d stop in, sharing small moments with her over greasy fast food.
Noticing his gaze linger on the burger, McKenzie chuckled softly, her smile widening. “Still the same, huh, Dad?” she teased. Despite everything, despite the shifts in their world, some things about her father hadn’t changed.
“I gave you a treat yesterday, remember? That chicken from the stir fry,” she said, her tone affectionate but firm. “But today, you’ve got to eat your pellets. I don’t want you getting malnourished.”
Greg’s response was instinctive, a reflex from years of being her father. “Kenzie, you don’t have to worry about me,” he said, without thinking. But no sooner had the words left his mouth than the collar tightened around his neck, cutting off his breath in a swift, panicked moment. His body froze, instinctively fighting for air as the collar constricted. The familiar sensation of helplessness washed over him.
“Dad!” McKenzie’s voice was urgent as she quickly reached for her phone, her fingers swiping across the screen. Within seconds, the collar loosened, and Greg could breathe again. He inhaled deeply, trying to steady himself, the memory of the brief choke still fresh in his mind.
“I’m sorry, Kenz,” Greg said hoarsely, still recovering. “We always talk like this. I wasn’t thinking. I apologize, Mistress Wessen.” The words felt foreign, unnatural. Addressing his daughter with such formality twisted his stomach. McKenzie’s expression softened, though she looked as uncomfortable as he felt.
“Dad, look,” she said, settling back in her chair, her voice quieter now. “It’s the proper etiquette for Littles. I don’t like it any more than you do, but it’s just how things are. I’ve overridden your collar for now, so you can just call me McKenzie when we’re alone like this.” She paused, glancing down at her phone. “It’ll reactivate later, probably around two or three in the morning. But right now, it’s just between us. Around the house, though—especially with Madison—you have to follow the rules. She’s really trying with you guys. She thinks she’s doing what Mom would’ve wanted, training you the way Mom would have insisted. It’s her way of coping. I don’t want to completely undermine what she’s doing.”
McKenzie’s eyes softened as she spoke, her love and concern evident. “When we’re alone, like now, I’ll deactivate it. But anywhere else—out in public, or when Madison’s around—you’ve got to stick to the rules, Dad. At least for now.”
Greg felt a strange mix of emotions as he listened to her. The kindness in her voice, the way she was trying to create space for him despite the rules, touched him. He knew she was stuck between her sense of duty to her sister and her love for him. In these quiet, stolen moments, it was like they could almost return to what they had before—almost.
“Thanks, Kenzie,” Greg said, his voice filled with appreciation and a hint of sadness. “I promise I’ll follow the rules as best as I can.”
McKenzie smiled softly, her fingers gently brushing his back in a reassuring, familiar pet. “I know you will, Dad. I know you will.”
For a moment, the gesture transported Greg back to when she was a little girl, sitting on his lap, his big hand brushing through her hair. But now, the roles had shifted. He was the small one, and McKenzie held the power. Yet, there was still that thread of love between them—delicate but unbroken, even as the world around them changed.
1“you’ve got to stick to the rules, Dad. At least for now.” For now?? So that means that she could scrap the rules soon?
2.Won’t Madison get a notification? If so will she bring it up with McKenzie?
3.I’m sorry but I understand McKenzie looking out for Madison coping but what about her parents coping?
4.I love the bond they have and I know she’ll have that bond with Cindy again.
5.It’s the proper etiquette for Littles. I don’t like it any more than you do, but it’s just how things are. Yes you can stop it with one conversation. They can be littles like Jordan is and not have to be like less than a pet cause that what it feels like
Also if McKenzie deactivates it will it tell Madison?
1) Well once the emancipation and adoption of her sister are behind her and official she could do a lot but she also doesn’t want to cause a big fight with her sister before she has to be appear in court and needing Madison’s testimony on both before a judge. Because of how the legal process works in regards to adoptions and emanciplations.
2) The notications work on triggers in the event log which are created by actions the collar takes. Making administrative actions on the backend does not cause an action by the collar so it does not trigger a notification. its a very rudimentary thing as the collar isn’t designed for complex SMS alerts. They have higher end collars which that feature with better processes. This is a very basic training collar that the girls have manipulated using the way it was designed to do something it wasn’t designed to do. But its a cheaper collar and sometimes budget matters.
3) The reality is McKenzie’s first concern is keeping the family together and she needs Madison to do that otherwise Madison goes into the system worst case or to distant family. The house is sold and McKenzie would need to either drop out of school to pay bills or move in with family if they would take her.
Her parents and more specifically Cindy who made her bed is less of a concern to McKenzie at this point as it doesn’t carry the same lifechanging repercussions. Atleast that was the thought process used when I wrote it.
4) Cindy will take longer but is definitely possible to be back. It will take longer then this season for such redemption as there is a lot of animosty that didn’t just happen over night and won’t be fixed overnight in any one grand gesture. It was created through years of being belittled and feelings hurt and feeling like they were always the one having to be the bigger person on McKenzie’s part.
5)Jordan is being told that and allowed that in the year 2020. This story takes place years since then. So part of what is being told with that is the laws Cindy fought to raise funds for and politicians she fought to put in place and the training she fought to get put into the school systems has created an environment that and a perception that is beyond just one conversation.
1. Ahhh I get ya! Keep her sweet and boom! McKenzie world 😂 ah no I know what you mean! Smart! I like it! When is up before a judge?
2. Makes sense
3.so she’s looking towards the future! Basically making them suffer in the short term(not by malice) and they’ll reap the rewards in the long term, so will McKenzie as she won’t have the stress of the courts
3. Ohhhh my bad! So littles in this timeline have to speak in a submissive tone, interesting!
Love the story! Love the world building!
1) Yeah in order for an adoption to be official or an emancipation you have to appear before a judge because it requires a legal ruling.
In the adoption side of things when a child is as old as Madison. The court generally asks the child directly what they would like to happen. So if Madison doesn’t testify favorably it could blow things up.
In theory it could also mess with her emancipation is Madison made it appear that McKenzie wasn’t following through on things.
3) That is her plan and what she is attempting. You have the right of it.
Thanks I’m glad you are enjoying the story and world building.
I would think the way Greg leans into her touch he would ask her to talk to him laying down on the bed with him sitting on her chest so he could be close to her skin and still talk and be petted by her and tell her and show her that he is grateful for her leading the family so well and trying to right the wrongs of what they were taught. I would think that would mean alot to her
Please, McKenzie please put in to this BS rules sooner or later. I don’t care when just do it one day please overall chatter showing Greg McKenzie’s relationship still is strong.
Prediction time
1) I’m protecting that later tonight when everyone’s in bed that Cindy will have an extreme nightmare where everyone she knows and loves is leaving her. After waking up from the nightmare shoulder, Madison, who sees her mother freaking out and panicking and struggling to breathe and decides to sleep with her tonight in her bed so she can calm down.
I think this will Cindy’s great fear of being alone in this new world of hers And her personal struggles with trying to make command with McKenzie and showing her regret for making these rules and how she wants to reconnect with her daughter again. This was also show how Greg is her main anchor in her mental strength and how He gives her strength encourage.
2) I’m also predicting that McKenzie will take Greg with her some nights leaving Cindy with Madison. Hi, see that in one night that there’s a huge extreme thunderstorm that scares Madison because it’s her secret fear that she fears thunderstorms like she did when she was younger, but Has told everyone that she no longer fears thunder, or at least the sound of it. But she ask Cindy can sleep with her. Well, Cindy agrees And this would also symbolize that Cindy and Madison are bonding.
I think this went greatly show how Cindy, despite her new size and body is still seen as Madison‘s mother and a very way showing that she still has value and purpose, even though she’s no longer independent and the authority figure in the house anymore, showing that Cindy still has a great bond with Madison.
I’m sure I said this yesterday 😂 hey! Don’t steal my predictions! Get your own😜😂
Oh damn I didn’t realize sorry lol 😂
😂😂 it’s ok! We can predict together 😂
Hell yeah team work makes the dream work lol 😆
Greg and McKenzei are in the good place for sure. The love they have for each other is without a doubt.
Time will tell if the perdictions come true.
1) “After all, where else did he have to go now?” Back to his wife? But giving her some solo reflection time isn’t a bad idea
2) “He had once been the head of the family, the one who made decisions” Oh buddy, I’m pretty sure that was Cindy.
3) “McKenzie wasn’t seeking comfort from him—she was offering it.” That’d be a bittersweet change.
4.1) “He knew Cindy would never accept this fully” she seemed to be giving up when Trina was here
4.2) “Greg, lying in McKenzie’s hand, felt a quiet resignation settle over him. A part of him didn’t want to fight it anymore” seeing him accept things so quickly, or at least approaching it, is an odd sensation.
5) “He’d discovered how good the burgers were after McKenzie started working there… he’d stop in, sharing small moments with her over greasy fast food” that’d be some nice bonding between the two of them.
6) “I gave you a treat yesterday, remember?” Yes, but consider, you haven’t given him a treat today.
7.1) “reached for her phone, her fingers swiping across the screen. Within seconds, the collar loosened,” if they can cancel choking with their phones, could they also trigger it?
7.2) “I’m sorry, Kenz.” so it didn’t trigger for Kenz? That sounds like an easily used loophole, just so long as Madison doesn’t hear him using nicknames.
7.3) “I’ve overridden your collar for now, It’ll reactivate later” I see, temporarily suspended.
8.1) “It’s the proper etiquette for Littles” no it isn’t, it’s one of your mother’s bullshit rules.
8.2) “Around the house, though—especially with Madison—you have to follow the rules” Ok, but you cam change this rule, at the very least let then adress you by your first name.
9.1) “She thinks she’s doing what Mom would’ve wanted, training you the way Mom would have insisted” she’s right, 100% and without a doubt it’s what a full sized Cindy would want.
9.2) “It’s her way of coping. I don’t want to completely undermine what she’s doing.” I can sympathise with a coping mechanism but straight up been fucking cruel at times, somethings do need to be undermined.
10) “you’ve got to stick to the rules, Dad. At least for now.” oh, hope, how I’ve missed you.
11) “there was still that thread of love between them—delicate but unbroken, even as the world around them changed” such a good ending line.
1) maybe he has a secret little man cave that he can retreat too.
2) Let him dream!
3) Also rewarding as a parent that your child is able to.
4)Cindy is like a cockroach.
4.2) well he is more at ease with McKenzie and he knows there is nothing he can do to change the result of what has happened. Relaxing in McKenzie’s hand and chatting isn’t the worse place to be in the world.
5) Yeah, he tried his best to be there for his kids and have moments with them. Thats why Even Madison is a bit more nice to her dad then her mother. As most of training Madison has provided has come Cindy’s direction and not Gregs.
6) That sounds like the kind of logic kids use to get candy.
7)They could, they just haven’t.
7.2) It’s a fairly rudimentary collar. it doesn’t have the fancy advancements. It was programmed to listen for names. So its set to trigger on McKenzie. So it doesn’t trigger on the nickname. Madison could program in the nickname and then he would be screwed. But it is a loophole which is why I was quite specific in how the triggers work.
7.3) Yup as she knows Madison will be upset otherwise but will also not check if its active as she no reason to think it would be disabled.
8)lol i mean you aren’t wrong but it is an example of how even McKenzie was influenced by Cindy’s ways.
8.2) I could see her modifying the rules once things are more in place. She isn’t trying to rock the boat to much until things return to a normalcy and the adoption is complete, and the emancipation is fully complete and official. As she is aware eyes are on her and madison. If people think something is wrong or she can’t handle it she could lose everything.
9) yup no tmuch to refute there.
9.2) Well in Madison’s mind is not cruel as its what her mom wants. Its like the difference between a masochist and beating someone is that one person derives pleasure from it and the other doesn’t. One person is advocating for it another isn’t. Based on Cindy’s teachings Madison believes this is what her mother is wanting and would be inessence the final request she made as a human or her dying wish so to speak is this in Madison’s mind.
10) Well its obvious McKenzie loves her father. There could be different standards at play.
11)Thanks
1) I kind of assumed it’d be that pet cage we saw in MW S2E05.
3) Yeah, that’s the sweet part.
4.2) Probably would be easier in a place he prefers out of his options
5) He is a good dad. Even Trina was easier on Greg
6) I stand by my point.
7.2) Nice, loophole found
7.3) I’m assuming it’s just deactivated for Greg, Cindy’s still works normally..
8) and to think she acts like she so much better than her, lol.
8.2) It makes sense to wait until thins settle a bit, but she also doesn’t want Madison to normalise this treatment of them. If she lets Madison get use to things being this way she may be more against it if McKenzie tries to change it in a few weeks, rather than if Kenzie nipped it in the bud now.
9.2) I definitely see that as how Madison looks at it, and even why she’s ignoring Cindy’s retraction of previous stances.
Lol problem with being late to commenting is everyone says what you’re thinking already.
That “at least for now” part for the rules is interesting. I wonder what Kenzie has planned.
Bammm! Twist! Madison gets smallara! 😂
Well McKenzie does still care dearly for her father. She has made that clear.
