The Triplets Episode II

Cai looked out at the Micropolis one last time, He knew he had the option to stay should he ask but he longed for his family and the dreary vibes of this place weren’t doing him any good.  Most littles understood that a facility like this was a blessing the governments of other countries hadn’t been so generous as to provide, but there was the ever-present feeling of loss held by almost all residents in there.  He was being seen off by one of the instructors a little woman named Jessica, for whom he’d been babysitting his smallborns, Marty, Callum and Tina who had also joined them, the first small borns in the state born before the Micropolis he’d been built, he gave eash of them one last hug and shook the instructors by her hands, as she gave him some final advice.

“Remember, some humans will seem stricter with you, this’s mostly be out of protective ness, even the most laid bac human can become an over protective nightmare when littles are present,” She said with a smile, “And don’t make life needlessly difficult for your sisters, that’ll only backfire.”

He knew the once familiar world of his mother’s apartment would be nothing like he remembered, or like the classes he’d underwent in the Micropolis.

“Mr Haddock?” asked the floor supervisor arriving at the at the docks where the boy was waiting.

“Right here” Cai shot his hand up and yelled as loud as he could wanting to get all the attention he could.

The supervisor knelt down and offered his hand to Cai who climbed on immediately, he amazed himself, three weeks ago he’d have hesitated or even refused to entirely, and while he’d prefer the hand of the pretty lady he could see in the distance, it wasn’t scary for him anymore, he couldn’t imagine how the littles who are dropped into this world without the adaptation period Australia provided could possibly endure their change in circumstance.

“We’re sorry to see you go but happy to know you’re going home,” the supervisor said, you’ll be flying to Rockhampton, this is your chauffer” the supervisor said gesturing the woman who realised him pointing at her was likely her que, she put her hand next to his so Cai could crawl across

“Wish granted”, Cai thought to himself as his luggage was slipped into her purse like it was nothing, she took some paperwork then turned away taking Cai to her car.

“I’m Teah” said his chauffeur, a young lady in her early twenties, smiling sweetly, “Are you ready? You must be excited, I know your family is.”

“How?” asked Cai.

“You’re a Minor being transported by the government, your father has been adamant that he talks to everyone involved, which is pretty much just me” Teah explained.

“Sorry about him” Cai apologised meekly, “He’s never been fond of the government.”

“Don’t be,” she reassured him, though if her father had been speaking to people like that she’d be embarrassed too, but Teah knew protectiveness when she saw it, “Your father loves you very much and wants nothing more than your safe return, I also spoke with your mum and sisters, they’re all excited for you to come home.”

“Are you gonna sit with me on the train?” He asked as she took him into the car park.

“No, sorry,” she answered, “we’ll be flying”.

“I thought I couldn’t fly” said Cai nervously as he was placed in the car seat Teah had in her cup holder.

“Littles and air travel was something that needed more information a few months ago, but Qantas, in collaboration with Genritech offers complimentary Little-Cabins that are designed to protect you guys from the pressure changes, you’ll have snacks and a screen you can watch whatever you want.” She explained.

The two spoke as they made their way to the airport, until her had to be locked in his cabin for the duration of his flight.  He didn’t like being in what felt like a padded cell but trusted it after seeing the Genritech logo on the cabin top.  The flight wasn’t an hour and a half, but Cai had been left in the Cabin for almost two, he’d put on “Attack on Titan” to entertain him on the flight, something about seeing little people killing giant monsters appealed to him since shrinking, it was the number one streamed Anime in the Micropolis.  Cai wasn’t able to contact the outside world while in his cabin and it was designed to prevent him feeling the plane’s various movements and pressure, that meant locking and sealing it for his own good.
