Zoe pulled the sliding door across letting the artificial scents from her mother Linda’s diffusers wash over her tired frame, waving off the Genritaxi that had taken her home as she stepped inside.
“Hey Zo-Zo” Micheal said seeing his daughter enter the house, “How was practice?”
“It was good, Daddy,” Zoe hugged her father close trying to peak behind him into the kitchen, “what’s for dinner?”.
Micheal gently grabbed his daughter’s face, covering her eye’s completely, “You’ll find out when I’m feeding it to you.”
“Aww,” Zoe pouted, breaking the hug, “You’re no fun, gotta give me something.”
“I did, there’s a surprise in your room awaiting you.” Micheal said, “go take a look, I’ll call you down when I can.”
“Sure,” Zoe said, not putting a lot of stock in her father’s ability to surprise her, “My new fabric, fish, or camera will be great.”
“Just go,” Micheal repeated the instruction.
Zoe placed her foot on the bottom stair before hearing a voice behind her, “Forgetting someone?”
“No,” Zoe lied as she approached her mother in the living room, “I thought you’d be upstairs.”
“No Sweetpea, I’m here,” Linda confirmed before gesturing to the infant on her breast, “he’s here too, eating like it’s his last meal.”
Zoe kissed her mother and baby brother on their cheeks, “Eat up, Archie,” she whispered as she left so her mother could feed in peace.

Paige’s eyes began to open as she’d heard the door open, the first thing she saw was a fish, the terrarium she was in shared a wall with the fishtank, the fish inside were some high end tropical ones, she’d never have given much thought to such little fish previously, but they were now like sharks to her, beautiful and colourful sharks.
She climbed out of the bed and watched the opening door, in walked a giantess, or rather a normal sized person. Paige was shown Zoe’s picture and briefed by Michael, so she knew who this was but seeing her in person and in motion was different. Zoe was a dark-skinned girl, her hair was curly yet styled, she was wearing stylish clothes, the shoes alone, which Zoe casually kicked off near the shoe rack, cost more than Paige’s wardrobe. Zoe dropped her coat, revealing what appeared to be a cheer leading uniform beneath,
Zoe’s search began fruitless, she’d skimmed her room, twice, and still saw naught of any surprise. She began to check her niches, first she entered a wardrobe, one that Paige had not realised was big enough to walk in, she entered again and started looking around her computer, her consoles and her screens, she then turned her attention to her tank.
Zoe for a moment suspected her father had bought her a new fish, though as she looked to the tank her attention was drawn to the empty tank beside it, or rather the tank that should have been empty.
She approached the Little cautiously, she saw Paige’s red hair and scrawny build, 4.5” tall, looked about 13 same as her, “Hey, cutie.” Zoe said in the controlled volume she’d been taught.
“Hi,” Paige responded.
Zoe took some paper off the top of the tank and skimmed them, before tossing them onto the bed, she reached in and delicately plucked her little out of her tank.
Paige whimpered at being grabbed but willed herself not to move away.
“You’re Zoe,” Paige murmured.
“I am,” Zoe answered, mistaking Paige’s statement for a question, “and you are?”
“Yo-Your Little?” Paige answered, not sure why she needed to explain that.
“I want your name, Smidgen,” Zoe clarified, “now’s the time if you’d like to change it. Lots of Littles take new names for their new lives.”
“I’m Paige, miss,”
“Ok, my Paige,” Zoe smiled, recognising the name on Paige’s little paperwork, “I know you don’t want this, don’t want me,” Zoe took Paige’s hand between her forefinger and thumb, “I’m your Guardian now, and I’d like to do right by you.”
Paige gave a weak smile, she’d often worried for her future, and when she’d been diagnosed as vulnerable, she felt it die in an instant. She knew not where she would be, but with her hand in Zoe’s fingers she felt a small potential for safety, “thank you, mistress”.
“None of that now, Paige.” Zoe said, “you know my name, use it when addressing me.”
“Yes, Zoe,” Paige said, seeing this as a green flag.
An awkwardness settled in, the two girls looking over each other, with curiosity, Zoe had the obvious advantage as Guardians so often do, she could see Paige head to toe and wouldn’t need to twitch her eyes, Paige could see Zoe’s face, and that was about it, she’d need to move if she wanted to see more, but she felt uneasy about doing so.
“You’re pretty,” Zoe eventually said, “and you’re my age, young littles don’t last long on the market. Most don’t even touch the market; they’re claimed by friends or family.”
“I wanted to arrange a Guardian, but no one I knew could afford a Little.” Paige confessed.
“That sucks,” Zoe lamented, “some families go into debt for their Littles, some just act like the Little’s deceased.”
“Mom couldn’t’ve gotten a loan, not that she tried, she was unemployed, furious when my results came back vulnerable.” Paige admitted, “Littles don’t get child support,’ she’d scream at me like I chose this.”
“And what about your dad?” Zoe asked.
“Never met him,” Paige answered, “He was rich though, probably could afford a Little, Mom always bragged about how she got the most child support out of her drinking buddies, and if I was lucky, occasionally I’d benefit from his payments.”
Zoe winced, closing her hand around page in a gentle hug, “I’ll take care of you, I’ve got you,” Zoe felt awkward at that statement, not sure how to proceed with the conversation an awkward silence grew.
“I’m gonna put you back in the terrarium now, I need to do something,” Zoe ecplained, She felt bad about putting her back so soon, but she needed to process her new status as an active Guardian.
Paige hadn’t long enough to agree before her feet touched the cold, glass, terrarium floor, Zoe gave her one last smile before turning away and walking into her wardrobe. Paige sat on her bed, she watched Zoe leave, not sure if she was relieved or disappointed.
“Lyla, look up little clothing,” Zoe commanded, seeing the screen light up, she slumped in the chair beside her sewing machine as images and articles popped up on the monitor on her wall.
(1) I wonder how long Paige had been there?
(2) Love Zoe’s family they seem like good people along with Zoe herself.
(3) Poor Paige, her actual family sucks in comparison to Zoe’s.
(1) Paige would have been there from 4-5 and Zoe would have arrived at 6-7, Paige was also napping so her time flew.
(2) They are, Zoe’s sometimes not too smart, but not a bad person.
(3) Paige’s family does suck, that’ll be explored more later.
(4) Good to know.
(5) I wonder if this will lead to some humorous moments between Zoe and Paige.
(6) Are they worse than Cindy Wessen?
(5) that’s the plan
(6) it’s a matter of opinion, Cindy was a better parent, but I’d say they were both bad people.
I hope Zoe ops to have Paige sleep on a pillow next to her with a bug light in stead of a cage so their friend ship can really become special with Paige always being on or around Zoe all the time so they become inspirable and take on the world and Paige’s family when I comes up. I’m excited to see Paige look up at giant Zoe defend her from her family like no on has done before. I hoping for a Heart string story lol.
I can’t see that happening, Zoe could roll over in her sleep and crush Paige unintentionally. Michael did buy a bug light when he bought Paige though, so she’ll have plenty of time out of her cage.
Paige’s family will come up.
I’m hope o don’t let you down here.
1) maybe they can make a Little sleeping crib that goes next to her head so the the each can hear & see each other sleep like I bought for my daughter when she was a baby when we did want her in her room and seeing her thru the video baby monitor we had lol.
2) Zoe helping Paige with her family will make her a giant hero also in Paige’s eyes. I’m sure it will be good.
3) you wont bud lol.
1) That just sounds like another cage, their beds are close enough to see each other while laying down on them.
2) I’m hoping that story is well liked.
1) I really like the premise of Zoe becoming a loving guardian for someone her age that lived in a uncaring environment. The act of Zoe almost having the loving mate (I can fix her) outlook I think will be interesting between a little and a guardian because I am surprised with the bonding process that their is not more guardian and little relationships because who could be closer to a Guardian then their little that knows everything about them and is bonded to them and would never cheat and always be there to listen and help you with anything that comes up in your life. I hope you explore this unchecked path, like many on here you have good creativity on stuff and I am excited for more lol.
A. Zoe will be a loving guardian, she has a big heart, smaller brain though.
B. I don’t think Paige needs to be “fixed” just taken care of
C. The Bond is only one sided, it doesn’t effect the Guardian, though it does make the little closer.
4. I do plan on exploring their bond and friendship.
1) Paige can be her little brain on her shoulder now. They are a great brain and brawn combo lol.
2) I was just thinking Zoe will have a outlook like she needs to nurse her back to health.
3) When I was thinking Bonding for the guardians is like many bonds that happen in human woman like nurses to their patients, mothers to their kids and woman that get emotionally committed to someone they have helped. There is names for them I just don’t want to look them up lol. I think Zoe would qualify for at least two if not more lol.
4) I cant wait, so much meat on that bone in the smallara universe based on the incredible power the mind has over us.
1) Lol
2) Paige is a little skinny, but not unhealthy, she’s already passed the genricare medical inspection.
3) I see.
4)Indeed, I look forward to exploring.
