Jordan glanced up at Ellie, who stood nearby like a living monument. The whole situation still felt weird, having someone stand guard while he used the bathroom. He understood the logic. At his size, even a bug could be a real threat. But knowing that didn’t make it any less awkward.
At least Ellie had the courtesy not to stare. She busied herself inspecting the tiny sink Sara had built for him, tilting her head as if it were some rare artifact. After a moment, she turned away and washed her hands in the full-sized one.
“I’m done. Thanks, Ellie,” Jordan said, moving to wash his own hands. The sink was small, but it worked. A little comfort in a world that no longer felt like his own.
Ellie dried her hands, glancing over at Jordan.
“So, do Littles really go outside?” Jordan asked,
“Many do,” she admitted, “but it depends on their Guardian. Most don’t go through the trouble Sara has. Usually, it’s just a quick trip outside if they need to go. Chloe told me they tested tiny outhouses at one point, but no one wanted to deal with cleaning them, little or guardian. That idea died fast.”
Jordan wrinkled his nose. “Yeah, cleaning an outhouse would be disgusting.” The thought made his stomach turn. He’d never been much of a camping guy, more of a Holiday Inn kind of person. He liked nature, sure, but from a safe distance, preferably with indoor plumbing.
As that thought drifted away, another took its place. “Do you and Sara do these sleepovers often?”
Ellie shrugged. “It’s not really a sleepover. Sometimes I stay here, sometimes she crashes at my place. Our parents never cared.” She smirked and lowered her hand toward him, palm up. “Don’t worry, I’m working on a little Jordy setup at my place.”
Jordan blinked. Then it clicked, if Sara stayed at Ellie’s, he’d have to go with her. Of course he would. She’d made it clear these past few days that he went where she went. He should have realized Ellie would need a place for him, too.
“You mean like a cage?” he asked dryly.
Ellie rolled her eyes. “Oh, please. As if I’d stick you in a cage. I was thinking something more… Jordy-sized. A bed, maybe a playpen,”
“A playpen?”
“Relax, I’m kidding. Mostly.” Ellie grinned and crossed her arms. “But yeah, something to make sure you don’t get stepped on in the middle of the night. Maybe I’ll even put a little bell on you.”
Jordan groaned, rubbing his forehead. “I’m not a cat, Ellie.”
“Well, yeah, I know that. You’re more like a very small, very dramatic dog,” Ellie teased.
Jordan crossed his arms. “You’re enjoying this way too much.”
“Oh, definitely,” Ellie said without hesitation.
Despite himself, Jordan couldn’t help but crack a small smile. That was the thing about Ellie, she messed with him, sure, but she never treated him like he was fragile. Not the way Sara did sometimes, and definitely not the way strangers did, gawking at him like a novelty. Ellie was normal, or at least as normal as his life could be now.
But the idea of having a whole separate setup at her place left him unsettled. It was another reminder that his life wasn’t his own anymore. He had no say in where he slept, where he went, or who he spent time with. He wasn’t even consulted about it, just another part of Sara’s luggage, something to be packed and accounted for.
“You’re really planning for this, huh?” he muttered.
Ellie shrugged. “Well, yeah. You and Sara are basically attached at the hip now. That means if she’s at my place, you’re at my place too. And I’d rather you have something better than a shoebox on my nightstand.”
Jordan sighed. “Thanks, I guess.”
Ellie leaned in slightly, lowering her voice like she was about to share some great secret. “I could always get you a hamster wheel, too. Keep you in shape.”
Jordan groaned. “You’re the worst.”
Ellie just grinned. “You love it.”
Jordan wasn’t so sure about that. But one thing was clear, adjusting to this life was going to take a hell of a lot more than a tiny bathroom and a travel setup.
Nice bit of dialog between them. One thing I wonder is how difficult is the transition for Jordan vs other littles given he’s going to be doing unofficial emotional support stuff for Sarah? Would that make it more difficult to both be managing your new life while making sure the person in charge of you is supported?
not that it’s the sole reason that Sarah got Jordan, or any other little for that matter, but I’m sure there will be moments where Sarah needs someone and Jordan’s all she has. That’s why I think he should be able to talk with the therapist without sarah present or get some extra official training. I wouldn’t think the former would violate little rights since he’s be considered an extension of her and the therapist has doctor patient confidentiality to a certain extent.
Im sure its different for every lilttle as far as the transition. Jordan doing the support stuff I think would make it easier for him as he has a purpose. Which is something Kelli is often searching for and even Gavin to some extent.
So while the changes and difficulties are shared having something you are tasked to do that you can find yourself in I feel like would help him.
He could in theory speak with a therapist but he also hasn’t asked too. Sara has only had one session since she has gotten him. So its not like anything is set in stone really.
Ellie and Jordan’s dynamic is so much fun. I kind of wish Jordan ended up with her instead of Sara.
They have a good friendly banter amongst them.
1) “The whole situation still felt weird, having someone stand guard while he used the bathroom” that’d be so hard to get used to.
2) “So, do Littles really go outside?” – “Many do,” another sad truth of the world, what happens in summer, or winter, or rain when the temperature is too much for littles outside?
3.1) “depends on their Guardian. Most don’t go through the trouble Sara has.” well, Sara does have a lot to make up for.
3.2) “Chloe told me they tested tiny outhouses at one point, but no one wanted to deal with cleaning them, little or guardian. That idea died fast.” That’s kind of stupid, most pets like birds or guinea pigs that stay in cages need to have where they poop cleaned.
and couldn’t a little-sized toilet go in the dishwasher?
3.3) “Yeah, cleaning an outhouse would be disgusting.” he is right, but cleaning any toilet is gross, Sara has stated she wants him to help clean hers. (Though not in the way Cindy is cleaning their family’s)
4) “Do you and Sara do these sleepovers often?” he’d likely wanna know that so he can be mentally prepared.
5.1) “It’s not really a sleepover. Sometimes I stay here, sometimes she crashes at my place.” So that’s a yes, yes they do.
5.2) “Our parents never cared.” they probably care, they just know that both the Reeves and Montgomery-Ward houses are safe for both girls.
5.3) “Don’t worry, I’m working on a little Jordy setup at my place.” I hope to see it at some point.
6) “You mean like a cage?” Yes obviously she means a cage, or terrarium like Sara has.
7) “But yeah, something to make sure you don’t get stepped on in the middle of the night. Maybe I’ll even put a little bell on you.” That’s not beyond the realm of possibility given that we know some littles to wear bells
8) “Well, yeah, I know that. You’re more like a very small, very dramatic dog,” not that dramatic given how much he just lets slide.
9) “You’re enjoying this way too much.” – “Oh, definitely,” at least she admits it.
10) “Jordan couldn’t help but crack a small smile. That was the thing about Ellie, she messed with him, sure, but she never treated him like he was fragile. Not the way Sara sometimes did, and definitely not the way strangers did” That would feel nice, he just needs to start teasing her back and it would feel more like an actual friendship.
11) “But the idea of having a whole separate setup at her place left him unsettled” it would be an uncomfortable thought, especially since he’s likely getting no say in it’s design.
12) “If she’s at my place, you’re at my place too. And I’d rather you have something better than a shoebox on my nightstand.” well that is considerate, I’m guessing Mal and Gavin haven’t slept over with Ellie or she’d have a set up already.
13) “I could always get you a hamster wheel, too. Keep you in shape.” I remember in the Disney Channel shows I watched as a kid they had a giant hamster wheel prop that was reused by a bunch of shows, it looked fun.
14) “You’re the worst.” Nope, that’s Saddie that you’ve seen, Mal in the friend group.
(2) I’d imagine some guardians would have a litterbox as a plan B just in case the weather doesn’t play nice.
THat would be a possibility
I wonder if Ellie would take Gavin if MAL’s traditional mom who wants grand kids makes her get a human husband that wouldn’t want her old little boyfriend around. Mal is hyper compulsive and if she focused on her husband then Gavin could possibly starve from being forgotten about.
If Mal was forced to give up she would be a candidate for sure. Sara would be an option as well. Mal could choose to keep Gavin and care for him and have a husband.
She just specifically has chosen Gavin over a proper boyfriend.
how to they have sex as a young couple?
They canonically haven’t yet.
I’m not talking just intercourse I’m talking oral and sex organ fun. putting myself in my high school self, I didn’t know any couples from middle school to college that didn’t have lots of foreplay before they decided to take the plunge into intercourse. Any high school couple calling themselves a couple Infront of everyone sounds silly to me. Even my daughters high school time, they were trying to act like older couples.
1) It would be a different feeling but I’m sure Jordan will get used to it. It woudln’t be all that different then a public bathroom.
2) Well it would depend where you live and what the weather is like but what a person does when its below little temperatures would be up to each guardian to decide how they want to handle it
3.2) The people who have the money to own littles would also be people who would not own guinea pigs most likely by and large. Plus bird and guinea pigs are incapable of cleaning up after themselves where a little isn’t in capable of cleaning there own toilet.
3.3) I wouldn’t say personally cleaning any toilet is gross. I cleaned the bathrooms in college at restaurant near campus and it wasn’t all that bad. It’s not like we are talking about truck stop bathrooms.
4) Yeah a little fact finding on Jordan’s part
5) yup, the only pause was Sara getting Jordan ironically.
5.2) That is more accurate. The families know each other and its safe so they are okay with it.
5.3) Im sure it will be shown at some point.
6) No real way around that. She would want to make sure he is safe. She would feel horrible if something happened to Jordan at her house.
7) Its not beyond the realm of possibility but Ellie was just joking with him.
8) coming from Ellie’s perspective though. I can see where from your perspective that twouldn’t be accurate.
9) She has no reason to deny it. They are friendly with each other.
10) He does sometimes but Jordan isn’t as much of a teaser as she is.
11) Well it would be inconvenient to run him to Sara’s house drop him off in a habitat and then sara leave to Ellie’s house and then Jordan would just be stuck in there until Sara came home. Earlier in the story you said sara was cruel for leaving him in the habitat like that.
12) Mal doesn’t normally stay over like that. Its not like it never happens but Mallory doesn’t stay over like sara and ellie do. Mal would be more likely to do something with Chloe.
13) It woudln’t be that different then a treadmill. Some theme parks have had similar things as well.
14) I would agree. Sadie is the bottom that has been depicted in universe.
1) He’ll have too.
3.2) I’m still of the opinion that it’s the kind of thing a guardian trainer would tell them to suck up, part of owning a pet is cleaning up after them (It’s why I own no pets.)
3.3) An exaggeration I’ll admit, but it’s not the opposite of gross either.
4) He’s got so many secrets kept from him.
5.1) That pause lasted less than a week.
5.2) it didn’t feel right claiming they don’t care. There’s trust between Rose and Tiffany and Jackson and What’s-his-name.
5.3) I’d assume so.
6) Mal has found a way around it, as has Kelli.
8) Ellie’s pretty blind then.
10) I’m sure as he gets more used to things he’ll come out of his shell.
11) I meant he’ll just have to live with whatever Ellie gives him, I can’t image Sara letting him complain to her, (and I doubt Ellie has a little sized toilet given the conversation.
I condemned her for doing it because she was cruel about it, left him in there with no entertainment and did if for a bad reason as it was a punishment he didn’t deserve.
Loved their dynamic it reminds me of a show or movie that have characters like this but I can’t remember or put my finger on it right now but I love it regardless
They are fun. A number of movies have a good banter but being Ellie is Sara’s best friend she would have the most contact with Jordan so they are most friendly because of exposure.
