“Come on, Jordy,” Sara said as she lowered her hand into the bag. Jordan looked up at the opening momentarily before he climbed onto her hand. Her fingers curled slightly, cradling him as she lifted him out, the warmth of her skin radiating against his much smaller frame. The sudden transition from the enclosed security of the bag to the open air was always a jarring experience, but he had gotten used to it, mostly.
As she pulled him free, he immediately noticed Stephanie and Ellie standing beside her, both chatting as they waited.
“Where is everyone? I thought you would have your normal gaggle of people,” Jordan questioned, used to seeing Sara surrounded by a much larger group of friends.
“Oh, Kayla and everyone else went with Mal and Gavin to get ready. They were going to pick up Kelli on the way, since Mallory doesn’t live too far from Kayla. We’re just gonna grab our stuff and head to Chloe’s,” Sara explained, adjusting her grip slightly as she spoke. Jordan could feel the slight movements of her fingers, a gentle but firm presence ensuring he stayed securely nestled in her palm.
The sensation of being carried like this was something he still wasn’t entirely comfortable with. Sara’s hand was large, her fingers easily able to encircle him if she wanted to, but she never did. Instead, she held him with care, balancing security with freedom. He could feel the pulse in her wrist, a steady reminder of just how much bigger she was. Every step she took caused the faintest jostling, but she was mindful, keeping her movements smooth to minimize the motion.
Jordan barely had time to process their conversation before another presence approached. He didn’t need to look up to know who it was, he could tell by the way Sara’s posture shifted ever so slightly, by the way her grip adjusted like she was suddenly more self-aware.
“See you soon?” Chloe’s voice was soft, affectionate, and Jordan felt Sara’s hand tense for just a moment before she relaxed again. He looked up just in time to see Chloe lean in, pressing a kiss against Sara’s lips. It was quick, but there was an unmistakable tenderness to it, the kind that made Jordan feel like an unintentional third wheel despite being in the palm of Sara’s hand.
Chloe’s gaze flickered down to him, her lips curving into a small smile. “Hey, Jordan.”
Jordan offered a small wave before she gently stroked a couple of fingers over his back. It was a light touch, one he knew she meant to be comforting, but it still left him feeling undeniably small. He tolerated it, knowing Chloe meant well.
“Yeah, we’re just gonna grab our stuff and head over,” Sara said, her voice softer now, her attention lingering on Chloe. “You sure you don’t want to come with?” She tried to keep her tone casual, but there was an unmistakable edge of hopefulness to it.
Chloe chuckled, reaching up to push a strand of hair behind Sara’s ear. “I need to get a few things prepped. Love ya.”
“Love you too,” Sara responded without hesitation, watching as Chloe turned to head toward the other side of the parking lot, where a sleek black car was waiting for her. Jordan felt the subtle shift in Sara’s breathing, the way she held onto the moment just a second longer before exhaling.
The way she loved Chloe was different from anything Jordan had seen before. It was raw and unguarded, yet it came with a quiet kind of strength. She didn’t try to mask it or play it cool. It was just there, part of her, woven into everything she did. Even the way she was holding him now felt more absentminded, like her mind was still lingering on Chloe’s presence, replaying the last few seconds in her head.
Ellie smirked. “You’re so gone for her.”
Sara rolled her eyes but didn’t deny it. “Shut up and get in the car.”
Jordan felt the shift in Sara’s hand as she moved, carefully adjusting her grip as she approached her car. He had been held by her enough times to know she had a natural rhythm when walking, something that helped keep him from bouncing around too much. Still, as she reached for the door handle, he braced himself instinctively.
Getting into a car while being held was always a unique experience. There was a moment of weightlessness as Sara shifted, her hand angling slightly as she slid into the driver’s seat. The sudden drop in height made Jordan’s stomach flip for a brief second before Sara steadied him, her fingers adjusting carefully as she pulled the seatbelt over herself. The familiar scent of the car surrounded him, faint traces of vanilla from an air freshener, the lingering hint of Sara’s perfume mixed with the ever-present scent of leather seats.
Instead of placing him directly in her lap, Sara gently set him down in the small space between her seat and the center console. It was a spot she had claimed as his unofficial car seat, safe and within reach. He stretched slightly, adjusting to the change in position.
Sara’s hand hovered over him for a moment before she gave his back a quick, affectionate rub. “Comfy?”
Jordan let out a small sigh. “Yeah, I’m good.”
Sara smiled as she started the car, the gentle hum of the engine vibrating through the seat. Jordan leaned back, letting the motion of the vehicle settle around him. For all the craziness of the world outside, in moments like this, he knew he was exactly where he needed to be.
Love the description of getting in the car.
Thanks
1) “Oh, Kayla and everyone else went with Mal and Gavin to get ready. They were going to pick up Kelli on the way, since Mallory doesn’t live too far from Kayla” damn, Kelli’s day off is about to come to a swift end.
2.1) “The sensation of being carried like this was something he still wasn’t entirely comfortable with” It’s one he’s getting more used to every time though.
2.2) “Sara’s hand was large, her fingers easily able to encircle him if she wanted to, but she never did.” yes she has.
3) “He could feel the pulse in her wrist, a steady reminder of just how much bigger she was” that’d actually be pretty cool,
4) “He didn’t need to look up to know who it was, he could tell by the way Sara’s posture shifted ever so slightly, by the way, her grip adjusted like she was suddenly more self-aware.” ones girlfriend/wife/partner can have that effect
5) “Jordan offered a small wave before she gently stroked a couple of fingers over his back.” Chloe doesn’t usually do that, but it’s nice to see that she’s more comfortable around him.
6) “She tried to keep her tone casual, but there was an unmistakable edge of hopefulness to it.” that’s not the usual edge in Sara’s voice.
7) “The way she loved Chloe was different from anything Jordan had seen before. It was raw and unguarded, yet it came with a quiet kind of strength. She didn’t try to mask it or play it cool” It’ would be different for him to see Sara showing unconditional love and kindness to someone.
8) “Even the way she was holding him now felt more absentminded, like her mind was still lingering on Chloe’s presence, replaying the last few seconds in her head.” Can’t really blame Sara for that, Chloe distracted her.
9) “You’re so gone for her.” – “Shut up and get in the car.” Love their dialogue.
10) “Getting into a car while being held was always a unique experience” for now, the novelty will wear off.
11.1) “Sara gently set him down in the small space between her seat and the center console. It was a spot she had claimed as his unofficial car seat,” still hard to believe that Litte Car seats don’t exist.
11.2) “safe and within reach.” It doesn’t seem that safe.
12) “For all the craziness of the world outside, in moments like this, he knew he was exactly where he needed to be.” at least he can find a sense of belonging.
13) the school’s architecture seems so fancy and cool.
11.1 I had talked about this a long while ago but for safety I think a bra with a woven in baby be orn seat in the middle would be the best option for a safe place for a little, man or woman to be placed based on little and guardian physical sizes and a guardian women’s attributes based on my 20 years of working on commercial aircraft safety designs and flight test redesigns and onsite build help. Of course their could be a higher amount of safety with a bigger safety device but that would be a money and unconformity factor to much I believe. I also believe this design could help with 2.1
1) It is but also Kelli was aware of it as she knows she’s going to the party at least. So it won’t be a surprise to her at least.
2) He would be more getting used to it.
2.2) The intent was more in this moment in time she didn’t not that she hasn’t ever in the entirety of their time together. But I could have wrote that better.
3)It would also be kind of comforting because its rhythmic. So a person could relax a bit to it.
4) They do, its not all that awkward alt though Jordan probably isn’t used to seeing it as normally he sees Sara and Chloe in more professional environments where tehy are less affectionate or have to sneak it in.
5) Well he is Sara’s little and their understanding that in any relationship persued that Jordan would be a part of it. So a degree of integration would be there. Kind of like if you dating someone and they have a cat or a dog. you don’t generally expect them to just get rid of the dog or cat. You would make friends and integrate into your life a bit.
6) I would agree but Chloe does tend to have that affect on Sara. Brings all her emotions and feelings to the surface.
7) Seeing Sara without any masks or any guards up in and of itself is rare but then to see her madly in love and vulnerable would be unique. As she can just be herself around Chloe.
8) Chloe did distract her a bit as she is very into Chloe.
9) Sara and Ellie have a close relationship too. They play well off each other and can say things to other that others cant.
10) Eventually it would. you aren’t wrong.
11) Well nothing would be truly safe for a little. As the impact in an accident would be quite jarring and possibly deadly.
11.2) Its not on the dashboard or something egregiously reckless.
12) Having a job kind of like bryce does I feel like would make things easier as you have a purpose you can wrap your mind around.
13) It’s a very fancy and prestigious school so I kind of wanted to show that off a bit. It’s not like your typical school.
1) I know I prefer an advanced warning.
2.2) it literally said “she never did.
4) He’ll get use to it, but likely won’t lose the third wheel feeling
5) Yes, but in this case it’s that Sara has a person she refused to acknowledge the personhood of and treat like a pet, and Chloe does acknowledge his personhood, and refuses to treat him like a pet. It’s wildly different from dating a dog/cat owner.
6) Indeed, she’s typically much darker.
7) Well not the true Sara, just her love for Chloe.
9) All good friendships have that.
11) It wouldn’t literally just be a seat, it’d have independent suspension and airbags and other safety features.
11.2) I doubt it’d actually make a difference.
12) Though Bryce’s is more concrete than Jordan’s
13) Fancier than the private schools where I grew up.
13) looks the same as the middle school and high school my daughter went to in our public school Dist. but we pay a lot in tax’s for it. Now that my daughter is in college its time to move lol.
