Smallara Episode 297: A Giantess Story

“I don’t see any reason to lie for you. I spent all afternoon looking for you in the hot sun. Do you have any idea how much trouble we would have gotten into and now…just forget it.” Nicolle said trailing off looking down at the miniaturized man before setting him down on the counter.

“You listen here. You act like this is all so easy. Like getting turned into some glorified pet is some kind of dream come true? I’m a person I’m not supposed to be a pet. You won’t ever understand how humiliating that is.”

“You won’t ever understand what it’s like constantly having to look out for someone who is ungrateful. Who does nothing but take any good thing you do for them and turn it around to how unfair this is? I thought you may have been different but all of you are the same I guess. You’re just cruel and think only of yourself. You don’t think about the stress of caring for you. The mental toll of constantly looking around for dangers. When you walk into a room or sit down on a chair make sure you’re not there. This was the only day this week I get to actually be a kid, and you stole that because you’re hateful, thoughtless, and only ever think about what we can do for you. Even now, not a thanks for saving you from the mosquito. Not a sorry for wasting your time. Just a don’t tell Sara. Keep Dayton from blowing up at you. You never think about what happens after. You run into the yard with no concern about anyone else. What was Sara going to think if we found you too late and you were partially eaten alive or if that mosquito had sucked all the blood out of you? You didn’t think. You just thought about how inconvenient this was for you. Well, guess what the world doesn’t revolve around you because you got sick. Before you go off and do something stupid again you should maybe think about someone besides yourself for once in your life.”

Jordan could tell that had been bubbling up inside of her for a while. It was about him and not about him at the same time. He didn’t know what her home life was like. However, it couldn’t be easy caring for her sister. What she said while not fully about him wasn’t wrong either. He never had thought about Sara and everything she did. Nor did he think about the consequences or the risks of his choice before just leaping into it.

“You’re right. I’m sorry. Really, I am. It’s unfair what is being asked of you. At least Sara volunteered. You were forced into this. I have a little sister who is immune. My parents aren’t but she is. When this happened to me my only thought was I couldn’t saddle her with this burden of me. I didn’t want her life to be caring for me. I’ve been so lost in all this that I haven’t been thinking right and I certainly didn’t think about how I just shifted that burden onto Sara. I can’t speak for your sister. However, you should have a talk with her.” Jordan said looking around at the giant world more clearly for the first time.

“She’s not always horrible you know, Dayton I mean. It’s just around you little people she’s a bit extra.”

“She thinks people like me don’t have rights,” Jordan argued back.

The pounding footsteps of Dayton walking down the stairs echoed throughout the kitchen. Jordan had noticed that she had taken out her contacts and put her glasses back on. Seeing Dayton in her glasses brought back memories of the last time he was here.

“That’s not true. Peta protects all your rights. Now you must be thirsty.” Dayton said as she turned the faucet on letting it run for quite a while before walking over to the cabinet and pulling out a dish filling it with water and setting it down on the counter.

“I had to beg Mom to buy a small bowl for you. Go on and drink boy.” Dayton said looking down at Jordan.

Jordan looked at the size of the bowl. It was indeed smaller but it was still quite large he would never be able to lift it up with all the water in it. Jordan started to move to dunk his hand into the water when Dayton stopped him.

“If you’re going to play with the water and make a mess I’ll take it away,” Dayton said while peering down at Jordan through her glasses.

“It’s probably too heavy for him. It’s still a pretty big bowl for someone his size.”

“He’s a pet. He should lap it up. That’s how animals drink is it not? Go on boy.” Dayton said in a condescending tone as she looked down at Jordan.

Jordan could feel the dryness in his throat and seeing the water in front of him made him even more thirsty. He wasn’t cognisant of how thirsty he was until Dayton had put the water down in front of him now it was all he could think about.

“Go on, be a good boy, and take a big drink,” Dayton added as she watched Jordan get down on his hand knees next to the water bowl before finally pushing his head into the water and slurping down the ice-cold water for but a moment before pulling away. The water was so cold he couldn’t drink it. It was painfully cold.

“It’s too cold,” Jordan said as Dayton rolled her eyes and dumped out the cold water into the sink. She turned on the water and ensured it was room temperature skewing towards warm before setting it back down in front of Jordan.

“Thank you,” Jordan said trying to be nice. He then took a big drink this time able to drink it easily.

“I have this pet thing down. See he’s drinking properly. Mom is gonna totally let me get one. You should bring your sister over next time”

“Oh, I don’t know about that. She has barely spoken to her friends since the accident. I can’t imagine she’d want to hang out with us. She’s been a bit of a homebody.”

“You just need to socialize her a little bit. Get her used to being around others. Animals love me. You should see me at my grandma’s farm. Besides, aren’t you in charge of her now? You’re the boss.”

“I’ll think about it,” Nicolle said looking down at Jordan.

Nicolle just rocketed to the top of my favorite characters list because you see how having a family member infected with Smallara has taken a toll on her.
