Weeks had gone by, and Tom and Darcy found themselves no closer to freedom than when they first found themselves thrust into this hellish landscape in which their daughter now lorded over them absolutely. They had tried running. They had tried escaping. They had tried reasoning with Madison. However, all routes led to swift punishment for insubordination.
We rejoin the two parents with their evening already well underway….
“See how obedient Dad has become. He is happily cleaning my shoes aren’t you Daddy?” Madison said as her eyes darted over to a meager-looking man who was dipping a sponge into a small bucket of hot soapy water and then scrubbing the thick canvas shoe with the sponge before bringing over a scrub bush with his opposite hand in an attempt to scrub away the day’s grime from her shoes.
“Of course, pumpkin. I mean master.” Tom said with a smile before grumbling under his breath as quietly as Madison’s eyes shifted back to her defiant mother.
“Why can’t you be more like Dad? I was even nice enough to recognize you little toys as my parents after all your begging and pleading on how this wasn’t fair. I gave you exactly what you wanted and returned you to prior titles and standing. I just can’t help if you need to be “this big” in order to make the rules around here.” Madison says with a smirk as she motions to a height of two feet.
“I’ve had enough of this. You are in so much trouble. You just wait till I find a way back to my old height.” Mutters Darcy as she continues to argue with her daughter.
“Sorry “mom” I can’t help that I’m doing all the real work around here. I washed my own clothes and fixed my own dinner. Who do you think added their self as an authorized user on your bank account before removing..i mean just forget about that last part. But when you were too weak to fill out the disability paperwork I was the one that got all those forms filled out because that’s the nice, sweet daughter that I am. Now all I ask in return is that you do your part to help out around here. Scrub the trim underneath cupboards in the kitchen and bathroom. Clean behind and around the toilet. Amongst a few other minor chores.” Madison explained as she took a few more steps toward her mother.
“Minor, MINOR CHORES!! After it rained you made me clean the mud from your soccer cleats. That took an ENTIRE DAY! When you carelessly drop food around here who has to pick all that up? Not to mention you had us kill that giant spider. We could have been killed! And don’t even get me started on that paperwork. I see you happily cashing those disability checks.”
“You have no idea how epic that was though. Do you have any idea the kind of numbers I’m getting from you and Dad versus the spider on TikTok? Here let me pull this up. I’m practically an influencer now.”
“The biggest mistake I ever made was that I didn’t put you over my knee when I had the chance,” Darcy said as she inched herself backwards slowly…..
“You want to now? I’ll even bend over for you mommy dearest.” Madison said arrogantly.
